this place used to be good. now is completely overrated. don't even think to ask a question to the staff because they will be annoyed by any question you may ask. overrated go somewhere else for bread!

art-is-in is the place to go for its sinful cronuts, flavoursome breads, tasty gourmet sandwiches, exquisite pastries... you can find their bread being served in several high-end restaurants in ottawa and gatineau. not only it is a bakery, it has a huge dining room where you can have a good comforting gourmet meal. brunch is only served on sunday. it does get packed starting at 11am. there is a very long line, but the staffs do pick up your order quickly.  art-is-in seems to be a popular choice for brunch amongst ottawans. and i can see why. once you finish eating, you can order a loaf of bread or a pastry to take home. there is an express lane dedicated for short orders. their sunday brunch changes a bit weekly. we opt for the brunch burger and the egg benny. the burger has the perfect ratio of bread, greens and meats with a nice contrast of flavour profile. juicy, oozy egg yolk coating the whole burger, and a nice acidity from pickles. the egg benny with a maple fennel sausage tasted

at $2.50 for a truck stop tasting, serve-yourself coffee, this place is in danger of becoming over inflated on its own reputation.

this vegetarian gourmet sandwich is like no other. starting with a beautiful roasted squash, this sandwich merges with tomatoes, arugula, and goat cheese on art is in's dynamite kalamata olive bread for an explosive flavor. the roasted squash helps to balance everything out, but it is the bread that really ties all the components of this sandwich together.

unique!. i can't comment too much about this place because i have only been twice... and both times they were quick stops.

on sat we popped by for a coffee but the guy in front of us was lining up for a second bowl of lobster bisque. we're impressionable.

it was a fabulous soup! rich and flavourful. with a great little biscuit on the side.

the servers were all very nice and checked up on us.

it's not the most comfortable seating but for a quick lunch you can do much much much worse.

delicious chocolate cookies. the sandwiches are on the best bread ever but the servers were a little heavy on the sauce leaving the sandwich greasy but the chocolate cookies are amazing no wonder they are ottawa famous!

best sandwiches. the sandwiches are some of the best i've ever eaten. the bread is delicious, definitely some of the best in ottawa.

the thought of a fresh loaf of dynamite dill was one of the reasons i was able to get up at 7 am on a saturday and bike a few kilometers in the cold to the middle of nowhere (yes, living the canadian lifestyle to the max).

disappointed. i bought the "dynamite olive" loaf this past weekend. would have been great if there were more than two olives in the whole loaf. absolutely ridiculous, now i'm left with a lot of bread that's very boring and not at all what i paid for.

best sunday brunch in ottawa. i say brunch, but it's really breakfast because you have to get there early--as soon as they open--to guarantee yourself a good seat and to ensure they don't run out of the favourite dishes.

for me, the best breakfast item is the eggs benny with the fennel sausage. savoury and filling, and always expertly prepared.

artisin is a bit pricey for breakfast, but worth every penny.

this place is amazing, not only as a bakery but as a bistro. my family went in for a sunday brunch and everybody shared. the eggs benny were perfectly prepared; the homefries, amazing. the pancakes were the best that any of us have tasted in a restaurant. highly recommended.

the food is decent but half the time i go they are sold out of just about every item and the prices are quite high. people with money live in the area and think it's the cats ass but it's just average. to say it's amazing is nothing more than a lie.

amazing!. truly a hidden gem! we walked in to something that looked like a grungy warehouse on the outside but was the most unique and spectacular environment on the inside. the inside setting kind our reminds me of a school cafeteria with and edge. the sandwiches are to die for as well as the pastries, they were fresh, moist and filled with flavour. without a doubt we will be returning!

developing a serious attitude. i have been a frequent customer for more than a year and i have noticed a serious decline in the quality of the service. i was there with my family a couple of weekends ago and the service was positively dripping with attitude and rudeness and the quality of the sandwich had seriously gone downhill. i guess now that they are a "hotspot" you get the "hotspot" attitude to go with it when handing over your hard earned dollars. i don't think i'll go back. there are much better sandwich shops in ottawa.
