dynamite bread. on my last visit, but must be eaten fresh, if you're planning a picnic, get some sausage from adams butcher on michael st, or william j walter in hull with a new world wine or craft beer.breadis pricier than normal, but it's from a "in the mode" establishment.

art is out bakery. confusion.... upon entry.....breadline? food line? who's next? .....grrrrrrrr - patience needed
poor staff service.... whether they're all underpaid or totally unappreciative because they're not receiving tips...
the staff is useless!!! .... not overly friendly either!
over priced..... ham & cheese (8.95 + tax) - 1 piece of cheese / 1 folded flimsy piece of ham....on nice bread
dirienzo's & bottega rule..... art is in, pathetic
did i mention overpriced?
2 sandwiches without sides... one croque madame with a small salad.... a juice...a cappuccino = over $50 !!!!
the hype is not worth it!

it has been a little age since my days of mixing the dynamite dough at art is in. after my dismissal which is still a mystery to me other then a management staff which obviously could not handle the rate of expansion the bakery was moving at. i have recently eaten there and bought myself an old favorite of jalapeño cheddar and was unfortunately very disappointed . the chives were chopped lazily and far to large as if to stretch ingredients further as well as the cheese lacking in quantity and most importantly the awesome heat thebreadhad from the bountiful jalapeños which are now non existent. the dynamite has seen better days as the sandwich purchased by my significant other on te olivebreadhad in it entirety two little slices of olive compared to being stuffed full

not what it used to be. i loved art is in. it was such an amazing place a couple of years ago and i used to go every week to buybreadand a sandwich so it really pains me that it has gotten so bad. don't get me wrong the food if still great, love the dill pickle sandwich and thebreadbut the staff are truly awful. i have never dealt with such rude customer service people. i understand being annoyed because people take too long to order or have complicated orders or are rude to you, but your job is to be nice, to get the product i'm asking for and to do it without attitude.

please! if the owner reads this tune up your staff! they are terrible and from what i've read from other people on here i'm not the only one to notice.

when locals speak of art-is-in and its founders, former pastry chef kevin mathieson and his wife stephanie monnin, breadis usually mentioned. in ottawa, the artisanbreadserved at most restaurants comes from the kitchens of art-is-in. in fact, one of the foods we miss most when we visit toronto or vancouver for any stretch of time is art-is-in’s freshly baked bread. yes, toronto and vancouver chefs bake great bread, but it’s not the same as kevin’s.

dropped by for breakfast... located in a nice nook.

a little expensive for eggs & bacon (maple glazed), salad, with added cost for sourdoughbread- $12.

tried their chocolate croissant - quite good!
loads of baked goods for sale but none gluten free.

will be back!

art is in is a trendy, modern twist on a bakery with a front cafe. the food is fresh, and i mean fresh! all baked goods are baked throughout the day, so you are guaranteed a delicious pastry, or freshbreadwith every sandwich. and the coffee bar is delish!

bon appetite!

thai chicken sandwich blew me away! portion size wasn't huge but i generally eat a lot so i expect the sandwich would fill most people. thebreadwas amazing (i believe it's all baked fresh in house) and the thai flavours really complimented each other. i often find myself craving the unique taste and wanting to go back to try other menu items. loved the atmosphere (repurposed warehouse) and the pastry selection!
