it has been a little age since my days of mixing the dynamite dough at art is in. after my dismissal which is still a mystery to me other then a management staff which obviously could not handle the rate of expansion the bakery was moving at. i have recently eaten there and bought myself an old favorite of jalapeño cheddar and was unfortunately very disappointed . the chives were chopped lazily and far to large as if to stretch ingredients further as well as the cheese lacking in quantity and most importantly the awesome heat the bread had from the bountiful jalapeños which are now non existent. the dynamite has seen better days as thesandwichpurchased by my significant other on te olive bread had in it entirety two little slices of olive compared to being stuffed full

not what it used to be. i loved art is in. it was such an amazing place a couple of years ago and i used to go every week to buy bread and asandwichso it really pains me that it has gotten so bad. don't get me wrong the food if still great, love the dill picklesandwichand the bread but the staff are truly awful. i have never dealt with such rude customer service people. i understand being annoyed because people take too long to order or have complicated orders or are rude to you, but your job is to be nice, to get the product i'm asking for and to do it without attitude.

please! if the owner reads this tune up your staff! they are terrible and from what i've read from other people on here i'm not the only one to notice.

#1. $10.95 for asandwichwith no sides? not even a carrot stick? meh.
#2.the menu board didn't indicate that mysandwichchoice came on olive bread. i hate olives.
#3. when i asked for different bread, i was told that they were sold out. of. bread. at a bakery.
#4. they took the contents if mysandwichand put them on a croissant. #10.95 for a croissant sandwich. man alive.

i like the warehouse feeling of the place, and the staff were so funky and fun, but i am afraid that i won't be rushing back.

i've come here for lunch many times, and their options have never ceased to impress me. my favourite combination is the roast beef 1/2sandwichwith the clam chowder, both of which are flavourful and delicious. the service can sometimes become slow, particularly when it's busy (during lunch hours), but the place still remains relatively clean and it is clear that the staff are working hard. the bustling atmosphere may be a turn off for some, but they make up for it with great food!

let me start with: my friend and i then shared a chocolate cronut and it was d e l i c i o u s! i definitely recommend trying it. it might be too big for one person alone but yummy nevertheless.

fast paced, buzzing atmosphere. don't be put off if the line is long or the place looks busy, line moves fast and food is delivered pretty quick as well.

i have been here a few times because of its interesting vibe and unique variety of pastries and food.

this time i had the tuna melt and a cream soda. tuna melt was delicious, a friend and i shared asandwichpotion size is great for one hungry person (we weren't that hungry). the cream soda was typical, not that exciting.

why 3.5 only? i guess because the place is so busy the cleanliness isn't superb, table was dirty and there was fruit flies at the cafe bar.

thai chickensandwichblew me away! portion size wasn't huge but i generally eat a lot so i expect thesandwichwould fill most people. the bread was amazing (i believe it's all baked fresh in house) and the thai flavours really complimented each other. i often find myself craving the unique taste and wanting to go back to try other menu items. loved the atmosphere (repurposed warehouse) and the pastry selection!

i would definitely recommend this spot to others visiting ottawa. great casual spot with friendly staff. once you get through the long, but fast moving line to the counter, the cashiers were very helpful and didn't rush us even though we had questions. the have a seasonal and changing menu. once you order, you receive a table number marker to self seat and the staff will bring your food once ready. there were individual and communal tables along with a love seat in the back corner. there was a very good selection of sandwiches made with fresh in-house baked breads. the thai chickensandwichwas flavourful and had great crunch. the carrot ginger soup was warming and they did not skimp in ingredients for the clam chowder! the doughnuts were on the bready side but their croissants (we had almond and chocolate) were buttery and flaky. the coffees and cappuccinos were also a hit. there is a separate line for the baked goods which is helpful. overall i would definitely come again.

tried this place for the first time yesterday . my friend ordered the ham and cheese and a drink. her order came to $18.95! we asked why and were told the juice she picked was 7.95 (outrageous). she did not take the drink.
i ordered the roast beefsandwichthat had 7 toppings (carmelized onion, horseradish, tomato, cheese, mustard, pickle and arugula) for $14.00. we waited 22 mins (with no line in front nor behind upon ordering) for our little sandwiches, which mine was missing the horseradish ( part of the reason i ordered it) and the pickles. this place is way overpriced and i will not return for a second visit.

it was my first time here with a friend and we shared the pulled chicken caesarsandwichand the breakfast burger and a side of fries. thesandwichwas delicious and the burger was out of this world - so juicy!!! i probably wouldn't get the fries again as they were a bit overcooked and too crunchy. definitely coming back though

we have always loved art is in and its pastries. we also loved their sunday brunch menu so we were disappointed when we went recently and found out that they have discontinued their sunday brunch menu. my partner loved their breakfast poutine (which included 3 types of meat, egg, and veggies) so he was disappointed when he found that it was not on the menu. he ordered kevin's poutine (which was on their today's special menu) and was greatly disappointed. it was small and overpriced for what it was. i had the lambourghini breakfastsandwich(lamb meatballs and egg). it was ok but not as good as compared to the sandwiches they had on their sunday brunch menu! please bring back the sunday brunch menu!

too expensive and very slow servers. a group of 8 go out for breakfast every 6 weeks. i ordered an egg and cheese breakfastsandwichand herbal tea. the bill came to over $10.00. thesandwicharrived cold after 20 minutes. the water for the tea was luke warm. the other 5 people waited for another 15 to 20 minute. still no food. one person went to find out what was going on. she was told the food would arrive shortly. the food finally arrived with no cutlery which was added after another delay. one person inquired about her coffee 3 times before it finally arrived at the table. we meet on tuesday mornings. there were very few people in the bakery at that time on tuesday morning. someone tell me what is the appeal of being served cold and expensive food under the guise of being hip and healthy.? there are other places way better than this place serving healthy breakfasts. we won't be going back.

super delicious sandwiches. are they expensive? yes. are they overpriced? if it were for the quality of thesandwichalone, i would say no. however, considering the fact that you will likely have to wait more than 20 minutes for a salad, and that your chances of getting a relatively friendly staff member to take/give you your order are about 50/50, yes. they are overpriced. i can get sandwiches that are just as good without the hefty price tag, long wait and shitty attitude. it took me a long time  to decide this (because that's how delicious the sandwiches are) but i'm not going back (because that's how bad the service is).
