the food was good, the place was unorganized and they should really get a menu, even if your menu is seasonal it's better than trying to guess who's ever handwriting is on the chalk board

i always enjoy lunch here but it ia quite overpriced (only complaint). there soups and salads are always quite nice and burgers are great. always fast and good service. when you go during lunch hour it will be busy so patience is expected and appreciated. quick and close to my work so it's my go to place.

this place has the best clam chowder and freshly baked bread and pastries! haven't tried anything i've been disappointed with so far. my only complaint is it is a little overpriced for what it is. it's good but on the pricey side.

really good food! endless hot-outta-the-oven bread. fresh fruit. colourful macaroons. nice chill vibe. the only thing missing is the service. can i just say how over this "hipster" service trend i am. it's a gorgeous saturday morning, i'm having a birthday brunch with friends from out of town. totally excited to show off my city and all it has to offer. the first thing they experience is bad service. it was pretty evident that no one behind the counter had been employed here for longer than five minutes. it was 10:45 and my friend ordered a side of fries. they were inside waiting for their meals and some of us were outside on the lovely patio holding a table! then this girl came out and proceeded to lecture us about ordering fries before 11 a.m. her exact words were, " well we'll do it this time but next time know that it can never happen." rules are rules. after asking her why they processed the order, her response was "my staff wasn't aware" that we don't do fries before 11 a.m. so in this scenario, you're lecturing a patron of your establishment for something your staff didn't know? hmm, great way to earn loyalty. we then told her that if she let our friend know it wouldn't be a big deal and he'll change his order. she told us that we were welcome to do that ourselves but she had no time to go looking for someone she doesn't know. it's a shame really...this experience left a sour taste in my mouth and it may be along while before i or any of my friends venture back here despite the great food! but i will go back and hopefully the next time i'll have nothing but amazing things to say. i will say that everyone else we encountered was pretty friendly and provided good service. this is just an example of how one person can change your whole experience about something.

art is in, but service is out. the food is great, but the atmosphere is hectic. if you want to sit, chat, and enjoy an unhurried meal, then art is in is not the place for you. andrew and i went for "brunch" on a sunday. originally, we went on saturday, but it was too crazy so we left and went to the ministry of coffee. if you're planning on going during the actual brunch time period (i.e. 10:00am onward), i wouldn't recommend going on an absolutely empty stomach, especially if you're like me and get "hangry" (hungry + angry at life & angry at lack of sustenance immediately available for your body)...

i don't care who you are speaking to, it must always be polite. i have never been more offended.. i have been going to art is in bakery for quite some time now. a new staff member was there to assist me a few weeks ago, and it has taken me this long to figure out how to respond. i will blame it on my age. i am 75. when a young man with a lovely australian accent says to me, "i can't read your mind" and isn't laughing, i take offense. i heard him tell another customer that he is a former lawyer, and now i understand why. perhaps he should be a former employee!

ridiculous. if you enjoy your meat slightly raw, your hot chocolate served out of a container labeled "duck fat" or are looking for a place to sip your latte while breastfeeding your baby, you will love art is in bakery.

this filthy warehouse location has overpriced food which continues to rise with popularity, a chaotic atmosphere with terrible acoustics, cinder block walls and tattered benches, if you like to dine with strangers, you will love it!

the menu is confusing and always
changing. it is broken up in to categories such as "sandwiches" and "not sandwiches", yet sandwiches are in fact, listed in the " not sandwiches" section. alot of thier items are not available. you might order something and sit down, just to have a busy and flustered employee come out and tell you that what you ordered is not actually available and you need to choose something else. (it also takes about 20 minutes for a sandwich). it may also be a good idea to bring your own cutlery and takeout tupperware, or a water bottle to fill yourself. menu items may double in price or jump from around $7.00 to $12.95 as soon as it starts to become popular...

on the brighter side, the bread is amazing and baked fresh daily, as well as the pastries and they usually have a huge variety. you could easily walk in and order a couple dozen pastries and some other baked goods. everything is really good quality.

if i were you, i'd check it out as they do have a lot to offer, but don't expect a place to relax as people will be bumping into your chair, and you will be asked to leave 15 minutes after you finish your food and you may not receive all of your order. also, you might get a parking ticket. oh, and don't expect great service..or any service really....check it out

food was great but overpriced. i visited this spot one lunch time out of curiosity because of the rave reviews. i had a cheddar scone and the clam chowder, which were absolutely superb, but i felt a bit ashamed at the time for spending so much money on simply on soup and scone for take-out. it took an extremely long time to get the food as well with both line up and being served (which i find ridiculous... come on, it's soup!). for someone with the time and money to spend, i recommend it.

love the pastries!. my third time at art is in bakery, and it is never a disappointment...our favourites are the cinnamon donut holes and kronuts, as well as the almond croissants...yes, it can be a little pricey and adds up quickly, but everything is so yummy and baked fresh. a quaint little place and a little hidden treasure!

too expensive and very slow servers. a group of 8 go out for breakfast every 6 weeks. i ordered an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and herbal tea. the bill came to over $10.00. the sandwich arrived cold after 20 minutes. the water for the tea was luke warm. the other 5 people waited for another 15 to 20 minute. still no food. one person went to find out what was going on. she was told the food would arrive shortly. the food finally arrived with no cutlery which was added after another delay. one person inquired about her coffee 3 times before it finally arrived at the table. we meet on tuesday mornings. there were very few people in the bakery at that time on tuesday morning. someone tell me what is the appeal of being served cold and expensive food under the guise of being hip and healthy.? there are other places way better than this place serving healthy breakfasts. we won't be going back.

not worth it. i've been here multiple times, and every time was an unpleasant experience. the food is decent, but not worth the unpleasantness of the actual location.
not only that, but the service is terrible.
don't go, it's really, really not worth it

the food is good but the service needs more of an upgrade than the location. sad to say. waited over 20 minutes for my food and had 4 different orders brought to me until i got what i ordered.
