is always good. bread can hurt the roof top of your mouth sometimes but so worth it. there is always something to order there. big line ups though. and the birds flying around can freak you out.

i'm giving a 2.0 for a few reasons:

positive:
the food was delicious. had the avocado toast with the super salad.

negative:
we ordered two orders of toast, and the avocado toast with the super salad... and that was over $26?!?! how is one entree and 4 pieces of toast $26?! i was shocked when we were paying. i stopped the girl and told her she must of made a mistake because it says the avocado toast is $14.95 (which is already really expensive for breakfast). yeah, it is. but the super salad is an extra $4. so $18.95. she didn't mention the extra $4 jump in price when you order that specific salad. i asked what the options were for my side salad that came with the toast and she just left that $4 extra part out. i could have literally bought all of the ingredients to make avocado toast and "super salad" for my whole family for $18.95! the girl was a little rude after i was unhappy about spending that much on one breakfast entree.

little things:
the location is extremely loud. was there not during regular breakfast or lunch times on a tuesday.
you have to pay for parking in the lot.
lots of kids running around.
tables are super close together. i had a woman getting pissed off at me because i was sitting behind her... even though i was sitting there long before she got to the restaurant.
toast comes buttered, rather than butter on the side if you want it/butter to your liking.

tried this place because i live a stones throw away but with how expensive everything is (and trust me when i say i eat out a lot so i know when i'm getting ripped off) i probably won't come back 🤷‍♀️

i tried the big k burger. they told me it would be extravagant and like a big mac?? i tried it. meat was very red. undercooked in my opinion. the 1000 islands sauce was ok. nothing great at all. for $15 go to five guys for a better cheeseburger. burger was very messy too. don't recommend.

let me start with: my friend and i then shared a chocolate cronut and it was d e l i c i o u s! i definitely recommend trying it. it might be too big for one person alone but yummy nevertheless.

fast paced, buzzing atmosphere. don't be put off if the line is long or the place looks busy, line moves fast and food is delivered pretty quick as well.

i have been here a few times because of its interesting vibe and unique variety of pastries and food.

this time i had the tuna melt and a cream soda. tuna melt was delicious, a friend and i shared a sandwich potion size is great for one hungry person (we weren't that hungry). the cream soda was typical, not that exciting.

why 3.5 only? i guess because the place is so busy the cleanliness isn't superb, table was dirty and there was fruit flies at the cafe bar.

best brunch place i've been to in ottawa so far! the food and pastries were amazing. we were five and everyone took something different on the menu and we were all really pleased. i think we'll make a tradition of going!

very impressed with the quality of the food. the service was fast and friendly. the only complaint i have is the prices. otherwise, highly recommend the vegetarian squash sandwich and the brownies.

art is in is incredible. their breads are the best in ottawa hands down. i recently tried some of their deserts for the first time and i'm just floored. try the espresso brownie, it's a heavy brick of compact, moist, rich chocolate.

great place for brunch with friends! the coffee is alright but the bread and the breakfasts are amazing! the place is always packed on the weekend but management tries to accommodate and move the line as best as possible.

easily one of the best lunch spots in ottawa. the food is innovative yet homey and comforting in the same delicious bite. come early if you need seating as this place gets packed.

thai chicken sandwich blew me away! portion size wasn't huge but i generally eat a lot so i expect the sandwich would fill most people. the bread was amazing (i believe it's all baked fresh in house) and the thai flavours really complimented each other. i often find myself craving the unique taste and wanting to go back to try other menu items. loved the atmosphere (repurposed warehouse) and the pastry selection!

came into this place for brunch today. it was the first time for my friends and i and it was somewhat confusing as to what we should do. after the table host saw us somewhat lost, he directed us to get in line and that the restaurant was pretty much counter service.

i got the advocado toast and my friend got the french toast stack. both were very nicely made and was tasty. one annoying thing i found was that the coffee is self serve. however, the station is placed very far from the counter in a rather cramped corner. the restaurant is located in what looks like a warehouse so it is noisy! but service was certainly quick.

i would definitely recommend this spot to others visiting ottawa. great casual spot with friendly staff. once you get through the long, but fast moving line to the counter, the cashiers were very helpful and didn't rush us even though we had questions. the have a seasonal and changing menu. once you order, you receive a table number marker to self seat and the staff will bring your food once ready. there were individual and communal tables along with a love seat in the back corner. there was a very good selection of sandwiches made with fresh in-house baked breads. the thai chicken sandwich was flavourful and had great crunch. the carrot ginger soup was warming and they did not skimp in ingredients for the clam chowder! the doughnuts were on the bready side but their croissants (we had almond and chocolate) were buttery and flaky. the coffees and cappuccinos were also a hit. there is a separate line for the baked goods which is helpful. overall i would definitely come again.
