[late post.]

it has been quite a while since i last did a food trip. i have been super busy lately that i had no time to explore and visit new places. (goodbye food trip saturdays! i miss you so much!) but god has been so good to me. on our way to visit my all-time favorite grandma, something caught my eye. molito. it’s the foodie hotspot molito! as soon as i posted it on facebook, i got some really good foodie advice.

i think it's been established both by legit food critics and normal foodies alike that yushoken serves one of the, if not the best, ramen in the metro. i've tried both their tantan-men and shoyu and i agree, although i'm just not a super fan of ramen in general. even their gyoza and karaage taste good. if you don't believe me, come to yushoken and see the long waiting line for yourself.

excellent service and good food. i just find the shoyu ramen a bit too salty. i don't really have a big appetite so i didn't finish the food but it tastes amazing. the pork in the ramen doesn't taste "bidli." the noodles are perfectly cooked and they don't taste starchy. i recommend you only pair this with water if you don't have a high sodium/salt tolerance. it's true, it's the best ramen house in cebu.

don't go during peak unless you're willing to wait. it's always. went there late night already to avoid the line. try the shoyu, hiyashi chuka and gyoza 👍🏼

ramen yushoken never fails to to give me a great ramen experience.

despite the restaurant always being packed, the food and the service has been consistently great for me every time i visited the restaurant. the ramen is hearty and flavorful whether you're going for a clean light taste (shoyu ramen) or a spicier alternative (tantanmen ramen). for the perfect side, i'd recommend karaage and gyoza. there's no crazy twist to these dishes as they stay true to its traditional taste, yet there's something about it that just goes perfectly well with the creamy broth of the ramen options.

when it comes to the ambiance, everything is quite simple - nothing too glamorous about the restaurant. i've seen more exquisite looking ramen joints. but, its best not to be tricked by its exterior as its dishes is what really provides its wow factor.

also, always expect a long queue. i have visited on weekends and the wait can up to about 2 hours. but, if there's one thing i've learned when it comes to yushoken, it's that patience is key! the wait will be quite long but it's definitely worth it.

i'm from the south and i'll never tire from telling all my friends from the north that yushoken is definitely the place to hit up when they're in the area. overall, a 10/10 dining experience from me!

i love their shoyu ramen. the broth was really tasty complemented by the grilled taste of chasu. gyoza and karaage were great too. worth the long wait.

i've been on a search for a ramen restaurant and at one point last year, i opted to go to yushoken because it's near from my home. i ordered their tantanmen and i'm proud to say that i go here to have a bowl almost every week. you can ask the server if you want the heat mild or how they normally serve it. at first, i was intimidated that it might be too spicy for me to eat that's why i opted to ask for a mild one, but on the second time i went to yushoken, i ordered their tantanmen just how they serve it. i order coca-cola to go along with my ramen and i really like the combination. i will keep coming back here.

food: 5/5
ambiance: 4/5
price: 4/5

shoyu
this is the best ramen in manila for me, just cause i’m really the type to love umami. i find it even better than ichiran in japan! the broth is so rich, the meat slab serving is generous enough, and the proportion of noodles to soup is just right. i recommend you order it with their gyoza, it’s a match made in heaven i tell you!!! you’ll just feel so full after but it’s hella worth the calories... and sodium lol

the price is alright; i’m still a student but i’d always be willing to spend that much for a bowl of goodness but i feel like it’s not the type you’d be willing to spend for everyday.

ambiance is also fine, nothing special but expect a line on meal time hours like lunch or dinner. but just a tip, yushoken and mendokoro are sister companies and serve the same stuff but yushoken can accommodate more people so it might be worth the drive to the south if you don’t want to wait too long.

very good food, definitely, but price is expensive. the menu can also get a bit irritating since you have to do a lot of reading before you can order.

despite price, i'd still eat here again. really good ramen.

great customer service and good food. perfect for a hump day treat or after work meal. the air conditioning is a bit weak so the place feels hot at lunch time.

ramen-fix dito sa south! ✌🏼️

i got their salt-based tonkotsu ramen. noodles and the soup are a bit thicker than other ramen shops'.
very flavorful and can get overwhelming after a bite or two. the slabs of pork are soft as clouds and were sooo yummy! #chashuislove and there is their gyoza.

i am not sure if it is just me or their dumplings are really perfectly balanced with the right amount of pork and the greens.... ahhhhhhh, yum!

it is soft, chewy and crispy, all at the same time. you gotta dip it in the sauce and pour some chilli oil and asdfghjkl! #gyozaislife

we got a bite of their karaage and it's okay. they are bigger than your usual karaage and the difference is, they are suprisingly uniform in size...mej bago sa mata. 😝

we got a plate of their chahan (japanese fried rice) and it is soooo yum! hahaha saltier than i have expected but the chashu flavor shined the brightest on this dish. yasss

my judgement:

ramen - 2.5
gyoza - 4.99999
karaage -2
chahan- 3.5

but you should try it yourself and let us know! 🤗

we had our sunday dinner here and as expected the place was full, so we had our name on the wait list before we were able to dine in. i got their miso ramen (php440) with aji tamago (php80) which was fine. the pork cubes on my ramen were a little bit salty for my taste, but overall experience with their food and service was good.

a drift of creaminess within a bountiful chasm, serenity upon contact while picking up a gush of saltiness dancing in sesame paste and chili oil. ramen yushoken opens up a temple to the taste with a path to the soul. the ambience of the restaurant can only be described as peaceful with a loud sound from the never ending beating drums of passion from its workers. their ramen is truly second to none and any critic who has any doubt will fall on his own sword the moment one enters their gates. the line outside is not just for show but is a testament of approval for their craftsmanship. faces consume their bowls with strong intent and like a placid pond rarely a single conversational word can be heard from its regulars. i once had my doubts on the glory of this establishment but one taste from a spoon shattered the walls of what i thought was a boundary of culinary excellence. anyone who seeks to open new doors or break through their bubble of conceitedness must only ask for a single bowl of their fine ramen.

came in here yesterday with my siblings for a snack but the line is long and we're at number 9 on queue which takes us more than 30 minutes to get a seat. good thing though was everything is worth the wait. when ordering, it kinda intimidates me that the staff is repeatedly recommending to put chili on my super chasyu ramen even if i don't want chilis on my soup. overall the experience was great and craving statisfied especially when i tasted my first bowl of super chasyu ramen (smoky, tender pork and rich broth) gyoza is okay but karaage stands ahead.
