the broth is what sets this place apart from the other ramen places. it's thick (almost lomi-like) and flavorful and the balance between thenoodlesand veggies are just right to feed one hungry diner. i must admit when they served me the bowl i thought i needed to order 2 bowls but after finishing a bowl. i was so full i couldn't drive.
definitely worth every peso

i've been to yushoken countless of times. i have also been to it's blood relative mendokoro and not once did they fail in delivering.

broth - 5/5
creamy, perfect consistency, perfect seasoning. it may seem much, all those things on top of the ramen, but they jive in perfect harmony. i swear.

noodles - 5/5
some people want theirnoodlesthin. too bad. yushoken'snoodlesare thick (just the way i like them) and has the perfect bite to it.

chasu - 5/5
i used to order the shoyu ramen but found that i get bitin with the chasu. so my staple order is the off-menu super chasu. tender tender pork.

pic: super chasu and shoyu ramen, karai tokusei

other recommendations: gyoza, karaage, tantanmen

if you want to try their dipping ramen, go ahead. it won't disappoint! i love their karai tokusei!

the long line is worth the wait, everybody!! please try it! i was 24th in line before, and waited for 2 hours to eat. no regrets.

agh, thank the heavens this is located in the south!!

living in japan for 5 years and coming back in the philippines, ive been searching for a really good ramen place here. its nice having yushoken in the south!! i ordered the shoyu tonkotsu ramen with aji tamago. id rate it 9/10 compared to the ramen that i always eat in japan! the soup was thick and very tasteful almost perfectly the same from the one in japan. *please note that there are hundreds of different ramen in japan!! depending on what city or region you are in. the chashu is grilled to perfection which i loooove so much!! thats a 10/10 for the chashu. the aji tamago was a bit too salty for my taste but it was cooked really well. thenoodlesare a 10/10 for me. the serving is just right. like a regular size serving in japan. price is just right.

we also ordered gyoza. it was good. 8/10.
we also tried the chahan. 8/10.

overall it was a really good dinner. it was worth the price. will surely come back here.

ps. this is my top1 ramen in the metro!! and ive tried tons of ramen places since i got back in 2016.

the place looks amazing. love all the wood and contemporary lighting.

service was good. the staff was attentive and brought our orders immediately.

we got the shio ramen with aji tamago. it was so delicious!noodleswere still al dente. meat had nice grill marks on it and was tender and so tasty. broth was piping hot and you can taste the flavor of the pork.

would definitely come back if i have a craving. best ramen in cebu that ive tasted so far!

staffs are accomodating and well knowledgeable, must say it's worth the queue!

the ramen tastes good. out of all the ramen houses i ate at, this place has the firmestnoodlesand thickest broth. the chashu and the tamago, also, did not disappoint. the gyoza tastes like normal gyoza. my sister says it's better tho. the servers are also very nice.

4.5 because there are cheaper options. but if it's quality ramen you want, then mendokoro in makati and yushoken in alabang are the place to go. 😊

excellent service and good food. i just find the shoyu ramen a bit too salty. i don't really have a big appetite so i didn't finish the food but it tastes amazing. the pork in the ramen doesn't taste "bidli." thenoodlesare perfectly cooked and they don't taste starchy. i recommend you only pair this with water if you don't have a high sodium/salt tolerance. it's true, it's the best ramen house in cebu.

food: 5/5
ambiance: 4/5
price: 4/5

shoyu
this is the best ramen in manila for me, just cause i’m really the type to love umami. i find it even better than ichiran in japan! the broth is so rich, the meat slab serving is generous enough, and the proportion ofnoodlesto soup is just right. i recommend you order it with their gyoza, it’s a match made in heaven i tell you!!! you’ll just feel so full after but it’s hella worth the calories... and sodium lol

the price is alright; i’m still a student but i’d always be willing to spend that much for a bowl of goodness but i feel like it’s not the type you’d be willing to spend for everyday.

ambiance is also fine, nothing special but expect a line on meal time hours like lunch or dinner. but just a tip, yushoken and mendokoro are sister companies and serve the same stuff but yushoken can accommodate more people so it might be worth the drive to the south if you don’t want to wait too long.

ramen-fix dito sa south! ✌🏼️

i got their salt-based tonkotsu ramen.noodlesand the soup are a bit thicker than other ramen shops'.
very flavorful and can get overwhelming after a bite or two. the slabs of pork are soft as clouds and were sooo yummy! #chashuislove and there is their gyoza.

i am not sure if it is just me or their dumplings are really perfectly balanced with the right amount of pork and the greens.... ahhhhhhh, yum!

it is soft, chewy and crispy, all at the same time. you gotta dip it in the sauce and pour some chilli oil and asdfghjkl! #gyozaislife

we got a bite of their karaage and it's okay. they are bigger than your usual karaage and the difference is, they are suprisingly uniform in size...mej bago sa mata. 😝

we got a plate of their chahan (japanese fried rice) and it is soooo yum! hahaha saltier than i have expected but the chashu flavor shined the brightest on this dish. yasss

my judgement:

ramen - 2.5
gyoza - 4.99999
karaage -2
chahan- 3.5

but you should try it yourself and let us know! 🤗

best ramen for me in the south! get the best of both worlds -noodlesand soup. with its cremy broth and delicious noodles, every bite of your ramen will leave you in a food coma! enjoy the food on their menu or if looking for something different, try the food on their secret menu! have the full ramen experience seated either at the bar or in a booth. my personal favorites are: ebi shio and gyoza! try them now!

we ordered their “secret menu” which is the super chasu that is not included in their menu, you must order it personally and i must say, it is all worth it (money-wise and long lines). the broth was superb and delicious plus the super sized chasu that is so thick that it looks like you’re eating a steak. it is so tasty and i almost unable to finish it because the ramen is heavy. the only cons in what we ordered is that thenoodlesis thick and not that tasty unlike with other ramen house. our other ordered food was gyoza that i can say one of the best since the taste is more like authentic with more veggies than meat and the flavor is well balanced. we got their at around 10:45 am and there’s already a line, though, we’re number 2. but after a few minutes, the line gets longer. but, the waiting is all worth it! the place is decent, clean and well air-conditioned though it the restaurant is not that big. my advice is try to go there a little bit earlier and be ready with the long line in case. you can a-lot a budget of at least 1,500 php since the super chasu is like 500+ php. overall, we’ll surely go back here, one of the best ramen house in manila!

been to different ramen places all my life and this place, in my opinion, has the best ramen i’ve ever tasted. thenoodlesare very well textured, the broth is excellent and the grilled tonkutsu and aji tamago toping melts in my mouth like butter! the gyoza is one of the best, if not the best i’ve tasted. this place is kind of addicting you always see me line-up almost every week.

if you want an authentic ramen experience in cebu, this is the place to be. yushoken ramen is thick, flavorful, and hearty. while a little bit more on the expensive side (around 400+ for each ramen and 200-300 for their sides) its a meal you go to to make yourself feel like a king.

the broth is thick, full of fatty and pork flavors with some dashi and other spices all mixed into one soupy goodness. thenoodlesare thick, with a bite and mouthfeel that feels so satisfying. the chashu is marinated, soft, almost melting with flavor.

the sides too are a must get. the karaage is deliciously juicy, the gyoza are to die for, and the chahan an experience unto itself. get at least 1 to try it out. i personally prefer the gyoza as it feels like a more contrasting flavor to the meaty taste of the ramen broth.

i've had ramen from japan so i have pretty high standards when it comes to the dish. there aren't many ramen shops in cebu that make a decent ramen. so it's a lil exciting for cebuanos when they come across one. yushoken is one of the few places that offer decent ramen. the place has a decent amount of tables, but expect to wait for seating at peak hours. yushoken is widely known in cebu as the best ramen shop, and this isn't really something i can argue against. but then again, there's also not a lot of competition. i got to try their tantanmen and shoyu. i had nothing i could think of to better their broth, and thenoodleswere cooked just right. the dishes just lacked the complexity that i expected based on the price. you even had to pay an extra 80 pesos in order to have an egg in your ramen. something that should've been included in the first place. but the ramen themselves tasted great and i would agree that they have the best in cebu. in my ratings though, i take into account the price. in this case, yushoken gets one star off because i would say that it wasn't worth the prices.
