no sanitation no glass partitions and as we all know the tables are very small for 4 persons , they did not allow 2 persons for a table they are interested in making money rather than the safety of the costumes i walked out today morning without having breakfast (i am a senior citizen)

no need to review this place. its pretty famous in this surrounding. the quality of the dose has been compromised these days, but it has the legacy it had.

gave it two tries, but unfortunately the recent visit was disappointing. i am a big dosa fan, but turns out they are too oily, thick, potato lacks taste, no taste or aroma of ghee, no sour-ish fermented taste. will give it another shot after a couple of months, hoping that the quality improves.

honestly this must be the most overrated place ever.
never heard anyone in my circle talk positively about this place but still wanted to try it's once.
this place runs on nostalgia.

the dosas are extremely greasy/burnt. yes their dosas are crisp but if you pour half a litre of oil/ghee/dalda (i dont know what they used but it tasted aweful) on any batter its going to get crispy. they just dump their extremely runny chutney around the dosa marking it soggy (kinda counter intuitive) and you get that unpleasant soggy oily feeling in your mouth. their vada was only giving out the burnt taste and their idli was too grainy (it was not rava idli).
the chutney and the aloo curry had no spice amd salt everything was just bland except sambar. or maybe the grease messed up my taste buds i dont know.
needless to say had to waste some of the food.
the quality is just not there.

definitely not worth standing in line for 20 minutes in crowd during pandemic. would rather prefer a good udupi restaurant nearby.

if you not a kannadiga, you are not allowed.. this is what i was told after driving down 25 kilometers to have breakfast there.. there was a huge line, social distance gone for a toss. while giving my name for the queue the aged person in the gate asked me something in kannada and i requested him to tell again.. he said, no kannada, no food. just think of my humiliation at that point. in front of all the crowd waiting outside.. not once, he kept on repeating the same line.. then when i just took a turn to come out from there, he started telling, he was joking.. how crude a joke can be, which got me into tears.. so, if you dont know kannada and have self respect, avoid that height class racist joint.

beware! do not go to this place if you don't speak kannada. they will humiliate you.

"no kannada no dosa" here. at least that's they told us. these people might feel great about this but it is against the article 15(2) of indian constitution.

anothet point. no social distancing is being maintained here...

this is got to be bengaluru's most overrated place just beating mtr in that respect.
i can't understand why there is so much hype about it. it's located in an old shack and has even older tables and plates.
i ordered masala dosa and rava idlis.
dosa was oily af. its was not ghee. the dosas were small and the bhaji was a small lump which isn't enough to eat even half the dosa also it was tasteless and a little runny as they had ground the potatoes so much to save costs (as there is a global shortage of potatoes and onions). the dosa was so freaking oily that just touching the dosa will drench your fingers in oil. its more shallow fried than fried.
you have to wait a minimum 15 minutes to sit at the table and another 15 for the food.
the is no concept of ambience or service. at vidyarthi bhavan the management is king - eat what you are served and pretend to like it and the bozo gandhi bazaar crowd does such a good job of it.
finding vegetables in their rava idli is like finding mh370... the search is still on.
it's probably a paradise for anybody who can't cook or has no discerning taste.
upon all this the management has an attitude and doesn't care about you or your experience.
highly not recommended. save your time, health and money.

i'm confused about how to rate this place, this was a very good restaurant earlier. the dosa were crispy and buttery and their service is something different. they make dosas out of red rice which makes them unique and they have rava vada's which is so good with the chutney, mouthwatering. but my latest visit wasn't like this. the dosas were hard and chewy, was it one day error or has the quality gone down, difficult to judge such an iconic place.

do you ever think of best dosa in the city!!!
do visit vidyarthi bhavan...!
vidyarthi bhavan is one of the oldest restaurant in the city of gardens
it is especially known for its masala dosa and rava vada
masala dosa here is made from dalda ghee... with a crispy in its own style and to much yummy. whenever i visit bangalore its kind of my duty to have such masala dosa.
it is served in the steel plate thn in that steel plate one of their staff come with jug of chutney and and serve like it's a juicy.
even the chutney there so yummy. that one can felt that our stomach is full but our hearts says just eat again and again.
further one should try rava vada. it is crispy small vada made of suji and spices fried to the fullest. with coconut chutney
some other stuffs we get there are
khara bhath
kesari bhath
vada sambhar and many more
lastly we should end our meal there with filter coffee which is south indian famous one.

do visit there. and enjoy one of the finest dosa there.

this place needs no introduction, known to almou every bangalorean. the dosa here is an emotion, with its crispness and masala inside, this one is winning hearts since 1943.
the chutney has been the same from when they've started and the quality of the dosa is commendable too. the idli vada is simple , satisfying the craving of the vada back from home. must try here is the masala dosa with filter coffee!

one of the famous and a legendary place in bangalore for their dosas. the place is very crowded and you need to stand in a long line to get a bite of their crispy dosa. i had been here a long time back , i don’t know how the taste is now. but after waiting for 45 minutes we finally got a seat , the service was really fast.
the dosa is extremely worth the hype , it is really worth it.
