don’t go to this place if you are hungry, keep a margin of about 45 mins. there will be waiting of 30 mins + waiting to be served for 15-20 mins.
also, the worst part is they make you sit with strangers! if a table has one seat vacant you have to accommodate a stranger, who may have different hygiene standards than yours. there is no choice here.
i just could not enjoy my food but had to eat as i had waited for 45 mins.
the good part is the food, thedosasare crispy delightful.

this place is an age old dosa idli restaurant. even if you go at 7 in the morning, you'll have to make your way through the long que to get a seat. thedosasare excellent, except that it's very oily.

vidyarthi bhavan! a lot of people say that it has lost its charm. but i am always in love with this place. a super crowded joint which serves crispydosasand a list of other south indian delicacies. i remember going here in the 90s with my dad. now, whenever i go to basavanagudi, i make it a point to visit this place for a crispy dos-ae and their filter coffee. try visiting on weekdays, as weekends are very crowded here.

hugely crowded place, but worth waiting for when you are gonna get to taste authentic south indian food at affordable prices. the taste is too good. i should say service is equally good, considering the crowd. have tummy full of food without burning a hole in the pocket. idly vada dipped in chutney is just heavenly feeling. theirdosasare yumm. must try place.
only suggestion is they could improve on their cleanliness.

heard a lottttt about this place, finally got to visit. reached this place by 8am on sunday and it was very crowded by then. had to wait for 45mins to get inside. there was a guy sitting outside writing everyone’s names in kannada and calling out them at their turn. vintage ambience, small tables and chairs. masaladosaswere served to all tables by default. you can then order anything other than that. tried idli, wada, kesari bath, filter kaapi and of course the crisp masala dosa. food was good but not worth the hype.

amazingly crisp dosa full of ghee..slightly thicker than the usualdosasbut very filling and tasty. the bhaji that came with the masala dosa was mild and nice too. the vada was crisp and wholesome, khara bhat was good too and the coffee delicious. very light on the pocket. there can be some wait for a table and you will most likely have to share it with someone.

highly hyped place for which i had to wake up early on a sunday morning.dosaswere dripping with oil, idly was served with sweet sambar (not my preference) and pooris tasted bitter (don't know if it's supposed to be like that)

i definitely like the kaara bath and coffee, rest all were just okay.

coming to bangalore and not havingdosashere would be a sin. i was told that they use ghee/butter in theirdosasso i wasn't sure if i should go but i anyways tried to use my luck. the staff told me they use oil and i had the biggest smile on my face. i asked for a masala dosa. the dosa was thick, yet crisp and very wholesome. the chutney was out of the world too. typing this review from my home in bombay, i cant help but salivate at the thought of having this amazing dosa again soon. please visit for the yummiest dosas!

undoubtedly, one of the best places for dosa ever. this most famous oldie in the town is known for attracting crowd all days in the week by giving the best tasty signaturedosasin namma bengaluru. maybe you'll have to spend about an hour or so waiting in the queue for your number, finding a seat for yourself and finally catch-hold of someone to place your order. but doing all of this is really worth as soon as you bite the very first piece of dosa from your plate!! do try idli, khara baath, kesari baath, and ending with a strong filter coffee will make it a perfect one!

crisp outside with a soft inside, the batter is perfectly made with the best of ingredients to taste phenomenal when the dosa in poured on the hot tawa. not to forget their unique style of serving the dosa to form a tower of plates.

the chutney would defenitely the highlight of your meal.

honestly this must be the most overrated place ever.
never heard anyone in my circle talk positively about this place but still wanted to try it's once.
this place runs on nostalgia.

thedosasare extremely greasy/burnt. yes theirdosasare crisp but if you pour half a litre of oil/ghee/dalda (i dont know what they used but it tasted aweful) on any batter its going to get crispy. they just dump their extremely runny chutney around the dosa marking it soggy (kinda counter intuitive) and you get that unpleasant soggy oily feeling in your mouth. their vada was only giving out the burnt taste and their idli was too grainy (it was not rava idli).
the chutney and the aloo curry had no spice amd salt everything was just bland except sambar. or maybe the grease messed up my taste buds i dont know.
needless to say had to waste some of the food.
the quality is just not there.

definitely not worth standing in line for 20 minutes in crowd during pandemic. would rather prefer a good udupi restaurant nearby.
