one of the best and iconic eatery of old bengaluru. well this place has some good vibes and ambience. it's one of the oldest restaurants of bengaluru, the interiors give you the 1980s feeling, old walls, picture frames of old bangalore and some renowned personalities. old table seatings, glad they haven't changed a lot, also ensuring nothing is worn-out.

we have hadmasaladosa, khari bath, kesari bath, vada-sambar and washed it down the throat by a strong refreshing filter coffee !! the crispy dosa makes your tastebuds flabbergasted....too good. and the sambar will definitely blow your brains off, it's perfect, tangy, sweet with right amount of spices.

reaching this place is not an issue but finding a parking is. this is definitely a must visit place whenever you wish, you do require patience to stand outside and wait for your turn. they do run on first-come-first-serve basis. worth visiting if you live in bangalore.

had been to this place with my colleagues for early morning breakfast on a working wednesday.. by the time we reached, there was waiting of approx 40+ people.. our number came in 15-20 mins..
service was super quick and waiters without writing delivered the correct order..
ambience is like small udupi restaurant which we can serve 35-40 people..
must try items kesari bath, masaladosa and kaafi (coffee)
food is authentic and delicious.. you will forget the wait time..
price very reasonable..
parking at your own riak
highly recommend this place to enjoy with your family and friends..

tried themasaladosa, idli & filter coffee here and none of them were up to the mark nor worth the hype.

the dosa was oily and the aloo inside was tasteless. chutney was bland and the filter coffee was absolutely average. the sambhar was the only saving grace, although a bit on the sweeter side.

vidyarthi bhavan is bengaluru’s best place to visit if you’re looking to try the authentic and simplistic of south indian food.

tried some of the dishes on the short menu which they have. it’s always crowded and people are queued with their families on weekends.

uddina wade, poori sagu, kesari bath and the famous crispy and butterymasaladosa is what we tried. don’t miss out on the filter coffee.

this place has a history and it is well known for its authenticmasaladosa which is crispy and delicious. i visited it recently and was spellbound by its uniqueness. taste was top notch as i have ordered two types ofmasaladosas. one was normalmasaladosa and other was dosa filled with a different type of masala. and i ended my meal with coffee at the end
as it was a sunday it was jam packed. i recommend to people who are planning to go sundays pls go early and grab a place there.

very tasty and crunchymasaladosa available at a reasonable rate. the coconut chutney served with it was one of its kind and added to the flavour. a must visit place.
note: this place remains crowded with people and you might have to wait for 30 mins for your turn to come. so plan your visit accordingly!

a old restaurant in the mids of basvangudi market retaining that authentic taste
the buttermasaladosa is the most loved and a famous dish available here .. i personally liked the samber in which the vade is served .

one of the oldest places in bangalore, i was excited to visit this place. and went all the way from north of bangalore to south bangalore on a sunday early morning to have some good breakfast.

first of all know that i have never been here before so i can't compare the quality before and the one now. sure would help to make it a point to be there by 7:30 for lesser wait time and give your name at the counter so they can call you once the table is ready. you would have to share it with fellow banagloreans.

we tried everything that was on the menu it won't go beyond 150 rupees per person (max). quantity is perfect for a small human like me. four stars because the chutney lacked salt, masaladosa was thicker than expected and lackedmasalaand the main dishes were swimming in the side dishes. but that was just a personal preference.

my experience was great! i personally loved the khara baath butmasaladosa was ordinary. kesari baath and filter coffee is a must try and a definite show stopper. some people complained about the bitter coffee, but this coffee is as authentic as it gets.

75 years and counting, this place did not disappoint! would go back when i go for another long drive :p

heard a lottttt about this place, finally got to visit. reached this place by 8am on sunday and it was very crowded by then. had to wait for 45mins to get inside. there was a guy sitting outside writing everyone’s names in kannada and calling out them at their turn. vintage ambience, small tables and chairs.masaladosas were served to all tables by default. you can then order anything other than that. tried idli, wada, kesari bath, filter kaapi and of course the crispmasaladosa. food was good but not worth the hype.

amazing 😍 place to treat your taste buds with authentic south indian food. place is very hygienic and staff is very well behaved and dressed neatly in traditional. there is enough place to sit, however if place is too crowded which is quite often, it hardly takes 15 mins to get the seat. i have had the softest idli in last 11 years in bangalore at this place, must try.masaladosa is nicely roasted in ghee and served with delicious coconut chutney. you can stop reading now and go give your taste buds a good treat. i hope you like the food as much as i did. enjoy !!

it's called a legendary outlet for some reason. the crunchymasaladose , the strong filter coffee it's just too good . keep some time as there is a huge waiting line just to get in the restaurant but it's worth the wait

this place is always jam packed, there no day when you literally don’t have to wait in line to get a table. after waiting we finally got a table, mind it you might have to share your table with others😅
we tried theirmasaladosa, idli dip, vada and kesari bath, which was outstanding and mouthwatering. sambar and chutney was a true companion really done to perfection. this place is one of the bangalore finest.

the crowd and attitude of staff doesn't justify going there. taste of good isn't really great either. it is mostly the fame of olden days and hype that keeps this place cooking.

taste: average. dosa was crispy because they fried in lots of butter. however, taste of any of the dishes weren't great be it dosa, puri, vada, or kesari bath. they pour chutney on dosa plate itself making the dosa soggy.
ambience: bad, too much crowd.
service: they have weird rules and they want people to sit and eat according to their rules.
price: average, rs 50 formasaladosa.
