chicken wings. hey guys and especially the gals the chimes expects you to eat chicken wings whole. the ate already messy to begin with now the expect you the customer to tear them apart sling hot sause every where and refuse to cut hem in half like every other restaurant wil gadfly do for you. iean really i so easy to please but the are already hard enough the way they ate for ladies to munch down on them. i have eaten them almost every week for years until they put the chickens on a diet and refused to serve them for three weeks so we helped come up with the. boneless plate. so i'd you ate going for the wings. go some l place else. really a customer spins a chefs job is tacky and so lazy and i feel that they are so busy they really don't care how you like your food served.

highly recommended. ordered (on various visits) louisiana alligator, new orleans-style bbq shrimp, red beans and rice, fried catfish, and crawfish etouffee. food is generally excellent and service is usually good. both chimes and chimes east are highly recommended.

if you go to a place to eat, skip it. oyster po boy approx $10 was skimpy on oysters. 6-7 max. no joke. had 3 of 10 bites with no oysters at all. ditto for my friends shrimp po boy. fries were good and hot and service was good. when popeyes has more meat on a po boy than you, you suck my friend. vegas

not so nicely dressed staff. chimes ( on coursey) food good, service okay. on our last visit my son commented on the short shorts and my wife noticed hostesses wearing flipflops. we could barely determine who were staff. most places have an emblem on a shirt or you see staff in a certain color scheme or company shirt. the bus guys, another story. my wife and i are regulars, we love it though just maybe some wardrobe adjustments.

i go there 3 times/week. but just yesterday , when we decided to order carry out the new orleans bbq shrimp which cost $16, we got 4 small shrimps in a small cup. i was pretty upset and disappointed . that wasn't their first time either . first time they charged us for one order of hushpuppies . but it wasn't in the bag.....i only order carry out twice and both times they messed up somehow ...

our dressed po’boys arrive with good fries. rob’s shrimp has a very light crisp batter which allows the delicate taste of the gulf shrimp to shine through.

better than chilli's. for good food and great beer options: go here.
it's a good place with american food and it's better than applebee's or chilli's. so, go here and buy local if you are in the mood for something like that but better.

my go-to place. my friends and i love chimes, we always come here to hang out, eat and drink. we prefer it over the chimes by lsu, purely because their sauteed crab fingers and bread are better. i have never been disappointed with the food and i eat there frequently.

service is a hit or miss here, i have never had awful service, but sometimes it isn't the best. the menu has a lot of variety so there is something for everyone. the prices are fair as well.

a terrific american warehouse. unlike my other reviews, let's keep this one short and simple: this is a top-5 eatery in baton rouge.

just go.

so it wasn't just me?. wow. i was prepared to write my review and be the only person with a gripe about the place. i see that many others have had not-so-good experiences as well, though.
my hubby and i eat out a lot; i guess you could say it's sort of our hobby. we've been occasionally eating at the chimes (this location and the one on lsu campus) for several years. my husband always liked to get the crab cake sandwich and substitute the stuffed baked potato for the fries. it had never been a problem until one day a few months ago, when we went in and were told that he could not do any substitutions. if he wanted the sandwich, it came with fries, period. if he wanted the potato with his sandwich and (mandatory) fries, he would have to pay full price for that as well (driving the cost of his sandwich and desired side item up to almost $13). he turned to the menu page with side items and pointed out that the potato and fries were the exact same price. nope, too bad.
we politely spoke with the manager, and he would not budge. by then, we were sufficiently annoyed that we left. maybe they were annoyed too and glad to see us go, but we probably won't be back. there are too many restaurants in br to frequent one that doesn't give a flying flip what their customers want and that make arbitrary changes with no reasonable cause or explanation.

terrible host staff(management maybe). i don't write many bad reviews and this is the first i've written about a place i like but it's my hope the owners will fix the problem since i know this problem hasn't always been here. not that it'll cost them business in the short term since they're so popular but maybe long term matters to them. i actively avoid chimes east now days if i'm going to eat with a group of more than 6 people. further it's lowering my desire to go over there ever. i will drive out of my way to the original by campus.

it's been on multiple occasions impossible to get seated in less than a half hour with an empty dining area. the host station staff seems incapable of making a decision on who to sit and where. more irritating is that you can look in the dining area and see multiple tables available but they won't push them together and seat people for unknown reason. this last time i experienced it i was able to watch them do the same thing to another group of 8 people right after they sat us after a 45 minute wait in a half empty restaurant. amazingly bad and i theorize it has something to do with how the host section is run. i will note that after you get seated the waitstaff is on top of things.

i am pretty sure if they addressed what to me is terrible hosting they'd turn tables over faster because they'd seat them faster. whoever the manager was yesterday has got to get tired of telling people "i'm sorry" and fix things or they need a new manager.

one last thing which made the thing more irritating was one of the hosts was sitting there reading what was obviously a personal book at the greeting station while people sat waiting. who allows their employees to lose focus on their job enough to read a book while at work? shoudn't this person be doing something like....say....figuring out how to seat the people waiting?

this place screams "average". on a recent visit i was told that they no longer make my favorite poboy, the andouille-crusted oyster with bacon and bleu cheese slaw. well, they just lost a customer. nothing else makes me want to go back. the chicken... err... duck and andouille gumbo is good, and the etouffee is decent, but there's really nothing else special, unless you like a large beer selection (which i don't drink.) i think the majority of the positive reviews are from the college-aged crowd (who make up the majority of the customers here) who just don't know any better.
