so it wasn't just me?. wow. i was prepared to write my review and be the only person with a gripe about the place. i see that many others have had not-so-good experiences as well, though.
my hubby and i eat out a lot; i guess you could say it's sort of our hobby. we've been occasionally eating at the chimes (this location and the one on lsu campus) for several years. my husband always liked to get the crab cake sandwich and substitute the stuffed baked potato for the fries. it had never been a problem until one day a few months ago, when we went in and were told that he could not do any substitutions. if he wanted the sandwich, it came with fries, period. if he wanted the potato with his sandwich and (mandatory) fries, he would have to pay full price for that as well (driving the cost of his sandwich and desired side item up to almost $13). he turned to the menu page with side items and pointed out that the potato and fries were the exact same price. nope, too bad.
we politely spoke with the manager, and he would not budge. by then, we were sufficiently annoyed that we left. maybe they were annoyed too and glad to see us go, but we probably won't be back. there are too many restaurants in br to frequent one that doesn't give a flying flip what their customers want and that make arbitrary changes with no reasonable cause or explanation.
