oysters for lunch. i just had lunch there with my son. a great experience as per usual. the place was packed and yet, our bartender kept things moving for us the entire time and found time to even pleasantly chat while not sacrificing attending to others in the same area she covered. the oysters were fantastic, great taste (i do not add anything to them when i eat them raw) and great texture and size.the beer was excellent and the glasses were vey clean and cold as requested. jessica, our bartender did a great job, i wish she was at all of those places that i frequent!! the restroom, you do use them if you drink plenty of beer, was spotless. always a great experience!!

amateur hour friday. i have been here numerous times, but this afternoon between 5-6pm was many things. i couldn't decide if i wanted to be disgusted, laugh, or what. in my hour there i seen two employees (cook and waitress) making out behind the bar, two waitresses playing with their hair before picking up the plates to give to their patrons, 7 different employees having very large samples of alcohol, and a bartender leave her station to have a thorough text conversation then take it further by going out to talk on the phone.

poor management. 5 days ago, i received a bad steak. it was cooked properly but you couldn't cut through it. i ate a couple of pieces and then i sent it back. it was during a birthday party celebration and i was willing to pay the $300 bill but i did not want to pay for the $22 steak. the manager kept insisting that it was "my opinion" that the steak was no good and refused to do anything. i told him that i was going to give him a negative review online, and what seemed like an eternity, he returned with the bill, finally agreeing to remove the steak charge. the waiter and service was good, but the manager was very unprofessional and i will not return to this location.

awful service and awful management. i ate at the chimes east with a group of people for lunch on monday. the server did not make a effort to find out information that i requested until i asked him to please ask if the item was no fat. i was the only lady at the table and he waited on everyone before me. my order was messed up with another order so he had to return the two dishes back to swap the food. he then said he would be back with my mayonnaise which took hi, longer than it should have. he had the mayonnaise in a covered plastic container and throw it on the table and walked away. i called out asking if it was no or low fat and he said "no." he knew i did not want regular mayo and was not going to tell me. he never came to offer to fill up my glass of water. he was also serving another large party and other smaller tables not giving my party attention. i did not feel the service or food was with 18% gratuity tip. i told the waiter i did not leave the whole tip and he said fine. suddenly, a young girl came charging to my table and loudly drew attention to my ticket and money i front of my party. she was aggressive, anger and demanding. i was embarrassed and humiliated. i told her not to discuss this at the table in front of everyone. as i was getting up and before i could finish saying let us go to the register to discuss, she abruptly turned around and barged off saying she wii get the manager. i was following her and asked her to slow down because i did not know where she was going. i waited for the manager to come out of the kitchen. he was unfriendly, uncaring, uninterested, unprofessional and rude. he made judgmental and sarcastic faces at my explanation without an apology over $1.23. i later called to speak to another manager who was no better. all he was concerned about is why there is an18% gratuity tip not the inappropriate behavior or poor service. i called the chimes near l s u. the owner was not there so i was referred to a manager. he had the same closed mind attitude. he asked for my name. i thought he was going to offer a gift card to keep my business even though i would not accept one as that was not my intent nor was i going to go out of my way to go to either restaurant. he did not offer me anything. i told him i would never go eat at either chimes nor will i ever recommend this restaurant. these managers and employees do not have proper customer service, social etiquette or work ethics. i had an awful dining experience. very callous and selfish.

we are from texas and wanted to try some dishes unique to the area. scot, our waiter, told us about his favorite meals, and brought samples for us to try. the food was amazing, and the service was even better!

disappointed. had an unpleasant experience with service and food several months ago but decided to try it again. the wait was reasonable with several large parties before us. the waitress was not very helpful. the chimes no longer has a drink menu you can use - you have to use your smart phone which we tried and it did not work. i feel sorry for those individuals who will have to use their phone to read a menu. we had to ask several times for the specials. the food was delivered in a reasonable time but the cheese fries were disappointing, the crab claws tasted frozen but were edible, the stuffed mushrooms were drowning in what looked like olive oil. the fish of the day was good. on a side note - the bartender had no idea of how to suggest a drink when asked. overall experience was very disappointing. will not be returning to this location. comment cards were not available and now i know why.

sad. met with friends tonight at chimes east. seated quickly. had to wait for table service. waitress had difficulty getting our drink orders correctly. ordered my wife's favorite, the spinach artichoke dip. the chips were limp and had to be returned. we all ordered crawfish étouffée. waited for a while for hot crawfish (tasty) in very heavy flour.sauce. no salad, crackers, butter for the bread stick.
have loved the chimes on highland for our traditional christmas family get together. will not consider chimes east for lunch or dinner with friends in the future. too many great places to dine in br.
i will continue to read reviews re ur restaurant. hopefully u will read past reviews and take them as constructive. ur wait staff deserves smiles, not frowns.

horrible manager. we had a great deal of goof-ups with our order, seating arrangements, lack of menu items, and the children being brought the wrong food. my husband wanted to speak to the manager. she walked away from him in mid-sentence. i called her back and asked why. her response was that she didn't know what to say. i think as manager she should have know what to say. she trivialized everything as if it were no big deal. all that was lacking was an eye roll. we have eaten there often, with large parties, but never again. her lack of professionalism embarrassed our server as well. she found it hard to believe we were treated like that, and apologized for the managements behavior.

ridiculous. front counter crowded with girls who would rather talk than serve customers, even when the place is overflowing with people. waited nearly 30 minutes for a to-go order that was already cold when we got it. shrimp poboy had freaking ketchup on it, which is not normal, and overwhelmed the shrimp. if you want to mill around forever, waiting for a table while snotty girls ignore you, this is your kind of place. other restaurants in br have better food and actual customer service.

i go to the original or i don't go at all.

idk what happened to this place, but there was no redeeming moment on a recent trip with family who had to go to the newer location.

i've been going to chimes (both locations) for well over 10 years. the food has gotten soo bad, i've stopped going. the coursey location is the worst. it's totally hit or miss. i wish i could get the "good cook's" work schedule . . i'd only go on those days. i mean really, it's awful. i have tried pretty much everything on the menu and on a good day it's damn good. but if you get the bad cook, you'll be highly disappointed.

food and service seem to have taken turn for worse. please fix y'all's problems.

lunch today. ordered raw oysters. they were a decent size and good. but the were not served on ice. they were just sitting on the tray swimming in dirty oyster water. never seen oysters not served on ice. sort off disgusting.

i was very offended at this restaurant. we had a party of 16 and we were told that a credit card needed to be held until our meal was paid. all 16 of us got up to leave. no thank you. we will never eat there
