this place was referred to by a friend and he was spot on! i had the peanut butter and jealousy burger. i asked for the 50/50 mix and wow, it was amazing. the fries were excellent with the homemade ketchup. a pop tart shake finished out this food coma and will make my afternoon work be missed.

virginia and i went to slater’s 50/50 a while back and though it was my second time there, i had yet to write a review. with two trips that were both awesome, i felt like it was time. slater’s is a bacon lovers paradise no question, but it also has a lot of other things to offer. it is a bar and grill and it is huge so the wait time is not terrible and they have a huge selection of beer. almost a selection as large as yardhouse but with ten times better food. they also have delerium tremens which is one of my favorite beers which i first tasted at a sampling at bgsu. after a ten minute wait, which was not so bad on a football weekend, we sat do wn and got to ordering. the first thing i went for was a bacon bloody mary, it was brunch time so i felt like this was appropriate. i love bloody marys and was excited by the addition of bacon. it arrived after a few minutes and did not disappoint. they had put together a nice combination of spirits (bacon infused vodka), bloody mary mix, and sp

1st time in. everyone in my party enjoyed their food & we had very good service. it was early so the servers weren't slammed. loved: my simple 50/50 (bacon goodness) & fried pickle chips. liked: fries with bacon ketchup. bacon brownie. no like: onion rings were bland. iced tea was off...too strong maybe? reccomed to you: big, bacon filled yes. enjoy!

perfect mix of crisp dill pickle & crispy batter! i dip mine in ranch (so good!), but it comes with a nice mustard sauce.

charged for ice?!. this is our 3rd trip to slater's-love the food, but it's pricey for a burger. my hubby ordered a jack daniels on the rocks--when the bill came-he was charged $7 for the jack and $1 for the ice! when he asked the waitress if this was a mistake, she (embarrassed about the having to field this question, but we weren't the first to ask) told us they charged it this way so the drink looked less expensive! don't know if they charge for any other bar drinks this way-they didn't for the ice water! wonder if they charge for blending the ice for their margaritas-we'll never know, because this is probably the last trip we'll make to slater's. i really was excited to see a neighborhood business doing so well, but they lost my business!

peanut butter and jellousy burger. unique taste, a must to try. bitter-sweet subtleness melds with the juciness of slater's signiture beef patty emulating through forming just the right taste combination.

furters, furters and furters!!!

was invited to another yelp event. when visiting a slater's 50/50 location i indulge in burgers, fries and vampire dip (amazing dip) but have never tried the furters. with this event i was given the opportunity to munch on a few of those furters and man were they delicious. the owner scott slater gave a little back history on how it all started before the bites arrived. he also talked about how it took him a while to craft the perfect furter...well scott, you nailed it! and with any slater's creation comes bacon, delicious delicious bacon which is a party all on its own lol.

before the furters arrived, we were treated to some slater's fries & sweet potato fries with bacon ketchup and pumpkin sauce. the pumpkin sauce was interesting. a fellow yelper stated at the table that it paired well with the sweet potato fries and she was right. the taste reminded me of a pumpkin spice frappe minus the coffee. for the bacon ketchup, it paired perfect with both. it's bacon!

shortly after the furters began rolling out one by one. to kick off this furter feast was the backyard 50/50 furter that was both wrapped and stuffed with bacon. absolutely delicious! not to mention the frank itself was plumped, juicy and flavorful all around. i also like the nice crunch when biting into the frank. next up was the abe froman which was introduced as an unauthentic take on a chicago style hot dog. it's introduction also came with a cool reference to ferris bueller's day off haha. i'd take this over an actual chicago style hot dog any day because they're missing one thing...the 50/50 furter and this bad boy is delicious. all the fixings from a chicago dog came on top adding more flavor. last up was the chili cheese ripper with guinness chili and beer cheese. the flavors of bacon and beer together = pure heaven!

after the furters a couple of surprises were brought to the table in the form of the original 50/50 burger and the peanut butter & jellousy burger. i'm no stranger to the 50/50 burger. it's the burger that started it all and it's great. it contains my favorite patty of choice when dining at a slater's, the beef & bacon blend patty. this was my first time trying the peanut butter & jellousy burger and it was pretty good. we were told to keep an open mind and top it off with vanilla ice cream. i live for trying fusion of foods so i was all in for it. given the peanut butter, jelly and ice cream...i considered this the dessert at the end of a meal.

can't wait to see what new items may come this year.

spot on good burger joint! i had the do-your-own and wanted a healthier version..so i packed my medium 1/3 lb. beef with assorted greens, roasted baby tomatoes, quinoa, olives, peppers, bleu cheese. had custom made shake and the combination of coffee, nutella and salted pretzel was sinful and decadent.service was quick and efficient..parking available. keep up the good work!

slater’s 50/50 applies its revolutionary 50/50 recipe to the world of hot dogs and launches its first-of-its kind “50/50 furter” on international bacon day!

not thrilled with having to give my phone number to the hostess to be texted when a table was ready. (lady, i'm 5 feet from you. just call my name.) ordered an appetizer (vampire dip) with our drinks 20 mins before we placed our dinner order. app didn't show up until after dinner entrees arrived and by then the cheese in the dip had congealed. overall food was average. service was passable. monday evening, so not crowded.

thanks to my friend who is horrible with directions, we ended up in point loma and changed our lunch plans to try out this place. it was pretty busy so had to be good. our waiter was nice, everything came out in a reasonable time, and the food was good. as a person who isn't too crazy about bacon (i know, i know how un-american. get over it), maybe not the spot for me. i see the appeal though for those who love bacon and beer.

insane collection of toppings and choices on their burgers. i personally was by a fan of the 5050 burger but was impressed nonetheless by the burgers and beer selection
