bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions on that delicious toasted bun let me tell you their burgers are fantastic high quality beefy juicy yummy you know what from the very 1st bite and i have to tell you on my website i don't post any hot dogs but i tried their hot dogs here fantastic you want a high quality in your faceburgerit's here

furters, furters and furters!!!

was invited to another yelp event. when visiting a slater's 50/50 location i indulge in burgers, fries and vampire dip (amazing dip) but have never tried the furters. with this event i was given the opportunity to munch on a few of those furters and man were they delicious. the owner scott slater gave a little back history on how it all started before the bites arrived. he also talked about how it took him a while to craft the perfect furter...well scott, you nailed it! and with any slater's creation comes bacon, delicious delicious bacon which is a party all on its own lol.

before the furters arrived, we were treated to some slater's fries & sweet potato fries with bacon ketchup and pumpkin sauce. the pumpkin sauce was interesting. a fellow yelper stated at the table that it paired well with the sweet potato fries and she was right. the taste reminded me of a pumpkin spice frappe minus the coffee. for the bacon ketchup, it paired perfect with both. it's bacon!

shortly after the furters began rolling out one by one. to kick off this furter feast was the backyard 50/50 furter that was both wrapped and stuffed with bacon. absolutely delicious! not to mention the frank itself was plumped, juicy and flavorful all around. i also like the nice crunch when biting into the frank. next up was the abe froman which was introduced as an unauthentic take on a chicago style hot dog. it's introduction also came with a cool reference to ferris bueller's day off haha. i'd take this over an actual chicago style hot dog any day because they're missing one thing...the 50/50 furter and this bad boy is delicious. all the fixings from a chicago dog came on top adding more flavor. last up was the chili cheese ripper with guinness chili and beer cheese. the flavors of bacon and beer together = pure heaven!

after the furters a couple of surprises were brought to the table in the form of the original 50/50burgerand the peanut butter & jellousy burger. i'm no stranger to the 50/50 burger. it's theburgerthat started it all and it's great. it contains my favorite patty of choice when dining at a slater's, the beef & bacon blend patty. this was my first time trying the peanut butter & jellousyburgerand it was pretty good. we were told to keep an open mind and top it off with vanilla ice cream. i live for trying fusion of foods so i was all in for it. given the peanut butter, jelly and ice cream...i considered this the dessert at the end of a meal.

can't wait to see what new items may come this year.

theburgerpatty melts in your mouth and every balcony addition is so worth the artery clogging. wonderful food, amazing number of beers on tap, and great service. couldn't have been better.

spot on goodburgerjoint! i had the do-your-own and wanted a healthier version..so i packed my medium 1/3 lb. beef with assorted greens, roasted baby tomatoes, quinoa, olives, peppers, bleu cheese. had custom made shake and the combination of coffee, nutella and salted pretzel was sinful and decadent.service was quick and efficient..parking available. keep up the good work!

insane collection of toppings and choices on their burgers. i personally was by a fan of the 5050burgerbut was impressed nonetheless by the burgers and beer selection

be ready to have a huge hamburger. the 50/50 is da bomb. the flavor is really tasty. i like the different ketchup's too bacon ketchup & vodka ketchup (my fav). my husband created his ownburgerwhich was ok. the meat seemed a tad tough in comparison to mine. the fries & onion rings were delish too! had the cucumber mojito and my husband had a beer. desserts sounds delish but there was no room to indulge on anything more! def. coming back as i saw some other dishes that caught my eye!

went in with high expectations but left a little disappointed. i chose to visit slaters 50/50 based on the positive reviews. came here with a friend and we decided on the pbjburgerand the flaming hot (waitresses recommendation) so we split the two in half so we could try both. service was good , however burgers not as tasty as i expected. the pbj was a dry , felt the same about the flaming hot as well. i knew the pbj would be a slight risk given that it's different so i was hoping the waitresses recommendation on the flaming hot would sway my opinion on this place. i usually base my foodpinion on how the first bite is and how the meal makes me feel after ( ie. am i craving more and do i want to come back). sadly as much as i wanted to love this place given its uniqueburgercombos , i wouldn't come back nor would i recommend it.

burgers and beer. i come here about once a month. great beer selection and great service.

bestburgerever!. i had the mericaburgertoday and it was amazing. its only here for the month so i suggest going to get one...

the mericaburger(100% bacon) was amazing! the wait staff was great as we'll.

how can you not like aburgermade from 50% ground beef and 50% ground bacon? the place lives up to the hype. it looks like a sports bar, but this is no ordinary bar food. one of the best menu items is the "peanut butter and jealosy" burger. as the name suggests, it's a hamburger with peanut butter and jelly on it. but it's really so much more. almost drug like its so good.
now i must say, this place had an unofficial mascot who ate there all the time and he ended up with a serious cardiac event. this place should provably be a once in awhile treat.

burger-centric eateries are abundant in the city of san diego, but there is only one where you can get a 50% beef / 50% bacon patty and choose from over 100 beers on tap – hail slater’s 50/50 . slater’s 50/50 started in anaheim in 2008 and quickly gained popularity due to its more than ample beer selection, large portions of bacon covered comfort food, and the half beef/half baconburgerpatties.  now with three so-cal locations, the newest recently opened in point loma’s liberty station and is sure to be a hit in this beer and burger-loving city. pioneered by 29 year old owner, scott slater, slater’s 50/50 is the result of a bad economy.  when the 2008 market crash occurred, slater saw it hit the construction business and substantially slow down traffic to his over 30 hot dog stands situated outside various home depot locations around the country.

slaters 50/50. very good food. large portions. good prices. i design my own burger. 50/50 meat, cheddar cheese, grilled onions, fried egg on a pretzel bread. we also had vampire dip. wife had an old timeyburgerand mint chocolate shake. will be back again.

had the b b b baconburgerand it was outstanding. had a nutella and banana milkshake and i would highly recommend it.

fried bacon mac n cheese balls are an absolute just have. the vampire dip was pretty awesome too. but when it came to theburgeritself, not very good. it took about 4 bites for me to completely give up on the thing. if i ever go back, i'll stick to the appetizers.

respectable beer selection though the prices are high (maybe not for sd). mac-n-cheese balls were good.burgerwas epic. i built my own and it was great. too much bun, but delicious. the airplane noise was a bit distracting; i could literally make out faces of the passengers, it's that close to the airport. overall good, and i would recommend it.
