virginia and i went to slater’s 50/50 a while back and though it was my secondtimethere, i had yet to write a review. with two trips that were both awesome, i felt like it was time. slater’s is a bacon lovers paradise no question, but it also has a lot of other things to offer. it is a bar and grill and it is huge so the waittimeis not terrible and they have a huge selection of beer. almost a selection as large as yardhouse but with ten times better food. they also have delerium tremens which is one of my favorite beers which i first tasted at a sampling at bgsu. after a ten minute wait, which was not so bad on a football weekend, we sat do wn and got to ordering. the first thing i went for was a bacon bloody mary, it was brunchtimeso i felt like this was appropriate. i love bloody marys and was excited by the addition of bacon. it arrived after a few minutes and did not disappoint. they had put together a nice combination of spirits (bacon infused vodka), bloody mary mix, and sp

perfect mix of crisp dill pickle & crispy batter! i dip mine in ranch (so good!), but it comes with a nice mustard sauce.

furters, furters and furters!!!

was invited to another yelp event. when visiting a slater's 50/50 location i indulge in burgers, fries and vampire dip (amazing dip) but have never tried the furters. with this event i was given the opportunity to munch on a few of those furters and man were they delicious. the owner scott slater gave a little back history on how it all started before the bites arrived. he also talked about how it took him a while to craft the perfect furter...well scott, you nailed it! and with any slater's creation comes bacon, delicious delicious bacon which is a party all on its own lol.

before the furters arrived, we were treated to some slater's fries & sweet potato fries with bacon ketchup and pumpkin sauce. the pumpkin sauce was interesting. a fellow yelper stated at the table that it paired well with the sweet potato fries and she was right. the taste reminded me of a pumpkin spice frappe minus the coffee. for the bacon ketchup, it paired perfect with both. it's bacon!

shortly after the furters began rolling out one by one. to kick off this furter feast was the backyard 50/50 furter that was both wrapped and stuffed with bacon. absolutely delicious! not to mention the frank itself was plumped, juicy and flavorful all around. i also like the nice crunch when biting into the frank. next up was the abe froman which was introduced as an unauthentic take on a chicago style hot dog. it's introduction also came with a cool reference to ferris bueller's day off haha. i'd take this over an actual chicago style hot dog any day because they're missing one thing...the 50/50 furter and this bad boy is delicious. all the fixings from a chicago dog came on top adding more flavor. last up was the chili cheese ripper with guinness chili and beer cheese. the flavors of bacon and beer together = pure heaven!

after the furters a couple of surprises were brought to the table in the form of the original 50/50 burger and the peanut butter & jellousy burger. i'm no stranger to the 50/50 burger. it's the burger that started it all and it's great. it contains my favorite patty of choice when dining at a slater's, the beef & bacon blend patty. this was my firsttimetrying the peanut butter & jellousy burger and it was pretty good. we were told to keep an open mind and top it off with vanilla ice cream. i live for trying fusion of foods so i was all in for it. given the peanut butter, jelly and ice cream...i considered this the dessert at the end of a meal.

can't wait to see what new items may come this year.

how can you not like a burger made from 50% ground beef and 50% ground bacon? the place lives up to the hype. it looks like a sports bar, but this is no ordinary bar food. one of the best menu items is the "peanut butter and jealosy" burger. as the name suggests, it's a hamburger with peanut butter and jelly on it. but it's really so much more. almost drug like its so good.
now i must say, this place had an unofficial mascot who ate there all thetimeand he ended up with a serious cardiac event. this place should provably be a once in awhile treat.

disappointing!. the food was good. the service was terrible, we had to wait a longtimeand remind the waitresses about our food and refills took forever. we went on our son’s birthday, they're were a couple of other groups celebrating birthdays too, the only difference was that they got their dessert with a candle and the waitress sang with them and my son only got the dessert with no candle and no singing waitress, they had a busboy deliver it . will not return.

so i have been told by my two sisters that i needed to go check out slater's 50/50 burger. i finally found thetimeto head over there and give it a try. it was a friday night so the place was packed full. the wait to just sit down was about forty-five minutes. the inside was loud with sports on the tv, music in the background and of course people talking. by thetimei was done eating my food i had an ass full of the noise. the wait staff was nice but crazy busy. our waiter did do his best to keep our drinks full and help when we had a problem. more on that later.    everything at slater's 50/50 is served a la carte so none of the burgers come with fries, except the kids meals. you have two choices for ordering, either from the menu of pre-built burgers or a menu that allows you to build your own burger. my daughter had the kid sliders, my son and wife did a build your own burger and i had the bal

it was hightimefor me to visit slater’s 50/50. jake and i had heard kind of mixed things about the place – some people really liked it and some didn’t and some just thought it was okay. i had to decide for myself though and after a few failed attempts at visiting, jake, t and i went on that hella hot weekend we had a few weeks ago – when it was in triple digit temperatures. we went next door to ace hardware just for the a/c while waiting for our table. i do like their notification system – which sends you a text message to let you know when your table’s ready. very neat! we were seated in a corner table. pretty much my thoughts were, “gee, do they have enough tv’s in this place” must be an add person’s heaven. me? i thought it was distracting. but maybe i’m the only one (or maybe that’s the point). [ combination plate - onion strings, french fries and panko fried mac n' cheese - $6.95 ] w

this was my firsttimeeating at slaters. the only reason i went was to get the 50/50. i made my own burger, checked off everything i wanted specifically and waited patiently. we got appetizers and noticed no plates or silverwear (after the waiter only gave us 2 straws when there was 3 people and 3 drinks). no biggie on that, it was busy and that was understandable. but when i got my order is when everything changed. remember, its my first time. so i have no idea what the burger is supposed to taste like. i proceeded to eat it and noticed it didn't taste like bacon at all. it actually sucked. the meat had no flavor. my friend, who ordered a regular patty started to complain that his burger tasted like bacon. he was nearly finished with it so i asked to taste a part of the patty to see if it tasted different from mine. sure enough it tasted like bacon. i couldn't beleive it. after all that $hit service this is what i get. it was the only reason i went to this place and they can't even get my patty right. wow. so in conclusion congrats slaters 50/50 you screwed me over and are officially my first review/negative review ever.

burgers and more. heard about this place and i had to try it. if you are going to go, you have to go for the glory.......50% ground beef and 50% ground bacon in a burger...shut up. it was incredible! this place has some great and unique burger toppings, the appetizer selection was great, especially the ability to choose a mix of favorites and the draft beer selection was never ending. this place is one of my alltimefavorites. place gets really busy, we went for a late lunch and it was perfect timing.

it is a rite of passage for food blogger's in our county to review slater's. the north county spot has been reviewed on almost every blog that i read. it was even the site for a gathering of food frenzy fans. so when i had the rare opportunity to find myself in north orange county for lunch time, it was a no-brainer where i was going to eat. slater's 50/50 is located in a non-descript shopping center off the beaten track in anaheim hills. i can not even tell you what else was in this shopping center, because i had a burger in my cross hairs, and could not wait to get inside and wolf one down. slater's is a decent sized restaurant with about fifty, or so tables. they also took over the area next door and made a sports bar out of it. we arrived just before 11:30 on a thursday, and the place was moderately busy. we were sat right away, and given ampletimeto peruse the menu. the menu features salads, sandwiches, and sig

awesome burgers and shakes great service. went here recently and the other reviewers are all wrong service is absolutely exemplary and top notch. glad the owner scott slater is there almost all thetimeas he is also very accommodating. boy do they get it right at this place the 50/50 burger 2/3 lb is one of the best pieces of meat i have ever chomped into between two marvelous perfectly done pieces of hamburger bun. the toppings are better than the counter choices (how can you go wrong with baconaise) by the way the milkshakes are almost as good if not better than the burgers. they are in a little non descript strip mall, but is well worth the drive and the find do yourself a favor order the 50/50 as large as you want and the owner will fix it for you. be prpraed to take some home. i tried and mine did not last the trip home.
