slater's 50/50

1st time in. everyone in my party enjoyed their food & we had verygoodservice. it was early so the servers weren't slammed. loved: my simple 50/50 (bacon goodness) & fried pickle chips. liked: fries with bacon ketchup. bacon brownie. no like: onion rings were bland. iced tea was off...too strong maybe? reccomed to you: big, bacon filled yes. enjoy!

perfect mix of crisp dill pickle & crispy batter! i dip mine in ranch (so good!), but it comes with a nice mustard sauce.

spot ongoodburger joint! i had the do-your-own and wanted a healthier version..so i packed my medium 1/3 lb. beef with assorted greens, roasted baby tomatoes, quinoa, olives, peppers, bleu cheese. had custom made shake and the combination of coffee, nutella and salted pretzel was sinful and decadent.service was quick and efficient..parking available. keep up thegoodwork!

went in with high expectations but left a little disappointed. i chose to visit slaters 50/50 based on the positive reviews. came here with a friend and we decided on the pbj burger and the flaming hot (waitresses recommendation) so we split the two in half so we could try both. service wasgood, however burgers not as tasty as i expected. the pbj was a dry , felt the same about the flaming hot as well. i knew the pbj would be a slight risk given that it's different so i was hoping the waitresses recommendation on the flaming hot would sway my opinion on this place. i usually base my foodpinion on how the first bite is and how the meal makes me feel after ( ie. am i craving more and do i want to come back). sadly as much as i wanted to love this place given its unique burger combos , i wouldn't come back nor would i recommend it.

not worth it. over all experience was a 2.5 out of 5.goodwas plain and the server didn't bother to read our burgers name. if you have a niche you should at least follow it.

slaters 50/50. verygoodfood. large portions.goodprices. i design my own burger. 50/50 meat, cheddar cheese, grilled onions, fried egg on a pretzel bread. we also had vampire dip. wife had an old timey burger and mint chocolate shake. will be back again.

good but off the beaten path. it's agoodburger place, we enjoyed the food and the pricing was awesome. i had a hot burger that was actually pretty hot, we also did the pick 4 appetizer which was over the top fried but good.. not a healthy place to eat so don't go for that. the atmosphere isn't great, but the server we had was awesome and really fast. location is pretty weird, there is nothing to do around there so don't go for the night there is nothing to do

had the fire beef, an absolute must. its beef mixed with habanero and ghost peppers. the beer list is equally as incredible...it's agoodthing i don't live in san diego, otherwise i'd be there 24/7 365

mmmmm. sogoodand you can customize it any way you want it so great! the down falls the wait outside was awful, the service was ehhhh, and because of the bacon there was a thin layer of grease on just about everything so dont wear silk of any kind.

went for a work farewell party and ordered the "old timey" one third lb burger. despite itsgoodlooks, the burger had no taste, fell apart as i tried to eat it and was not worth almost $10 bucks! maybe you need a few beers to make worth it! won't bother trying it again.

went yesterday for the first time, it was sogoodi wish i lived closer to san diego. i tried 4 different things off the menu, all we're great and the service was just as great. now i only wish their was a slaters 50/50 in north county..

verygood- can't wait to visit again!. i really enjoyed my meal here! i had heard nothing butgoodthings from friends, and i was excited to try it! it was very crowded, so i opted to sit at the bar (which was also almost full!).

they have a great beer selection, and i went for the guinness on tap. i couldn't resist the 50/50 burger, and i tried my own combo. i enjoyed what i ordered, but perhaps i will try one of their pre designed burgers. because of the bacon, they can only cook these burgers well done. problem is, there is no such thing in my opinion as too well done (i know, i know), and it was not cooked enough to my liking. i will make sure to ask them to cook it longer next time. i got the fried pickle chips as well. they were average. way too greasy, and they were kind of bunched in the batter so they were not all coated well.

it is worth trying, and does live up to the hype. start with something off the menu before you try your own burger combination.

really liked this place.goodatmosphere, great service and delicious food. highly recommend checking this place out if you love burgers

good food, poor customer service. a group of 20 of my friends made dinner reservations over a week ago at slater 50/50 to celebrate a birthday on saturday. the reservations were for 7pm and when we got there, another large party was also waiting for a table but they did not have a reservation. for some unknown reason the manager gave away our table to the other party, and told us that they would "make it up" to us by giving us a discount or free drinks. when all was said and done, we weren't seated until 8:30pm and the manager made it up to us by giving us a whopping $20 off on a $600 bill (not including the 18% gratuity automatically added to our bill). don't get me wrong, the food & drinks weregoodbut if that's what the management thinks is appropriate customer service, we won't be back anytime soon.

not bad but.... ...i've been hitting a lot of gastropubs and places of a similar nature lately and this is just one in a line. their signature burger is pretty damnedgoodbut it's still lower on the shelf than umami. they have a prettygoodbeer slection as well but, once again, so does the haven or commonwealth lounge or the bruery, etc. i don't want to give the impression that the place was bad, it wasn't, but other than the fact that the 50/50 patty is made with 50% ground bacon the rest of the ingredients are just novelty. i mean a peanutbutter and jelly burger? really? granted i didn't order that and it may turn out to be the best thing i've ever had but i don't know - i find it suspect. anyways slater's is definitely worth the try but if you don't live near the place you probably won't be going back too soon. it's too far for a burger you can get at the haven or the crosby and you don't really need all of that crazy junk on agoodburger anyway. oh and i forgot about the sides. the fried pickles were great but very greasy and the sweet potato fries weregoodas well but they give you ranch dip with the pickles. ranch dip? where are we, tgifriday's? at least give me a house-made ketchup or garlic aioli or something.

awesome burgers and shakes great service. went here recently and the other reviewers are all wrong service is absolutely exemplary and top notch. glad the owner scott slater is there almost all the time as he is also very accommodating. boy do they get it right at this place the 50/50 burger 2/3 lb is one of the best pieces of meat i have ever chomped into between two marvelous perfectly done pieces of hamburger bun. the toppings are better than the counter choices (how can you go wrong with baconaise) by the way the milkshakes are almost asgoodif not better than the burgers. they are in a little non descript strip mall, but is well worth the drive and the find do yourself a favor order the 50/50 as large as you want and the owner will fix it for you. be prpraed to take some home. i tried and mine did not last the trip home.
