slater's 50/50

not thrilled with having to give my phone number to the hostess to be texted when a table was ready. (lady, i'm 5 feet from you. just call my name.) ordered an appetizer (vampire dip) with our drinks 20 mins before we placed our dinner order. app didn't show up until after dinner entrees arrived and by then the cheese in the dip had congealed. overall food was average.servicewas passable. monday evening, so not crowded.

went in with high expectations but left a little disappointed. i chose to visit slaters 50/50 based on the positive reviews. came here with a friend and we decided on the pbj burger and the flaming hot (waitresses recommendation) so we split the two in half so we could try both.servicewas good , however burgers not as tasty as i expected. the pbj was a dry , felt the same about the flaming hot as well. i knew the pbj would be a slight risk given that it's different so i was hoping the waitresses recommendation on the flaming hot would sway my opinion on this place. i usually base my foodpinion on how the first bite is and how the meal makes me feel after ( ie. am i craving more and do i want to come back). sadly as much as i wanted to love this place given its unique burger combos , i wouldn't come back nor would i recommend it.

burgers and beer. i come here about once a month. great beer selection and great service.

best burger ever!. i had the merica burger today and it was amazing. its only here for the month so i suggest going to get one...

disappointing!. the food was good. theservicewas terrible, we had to wait a long time and remind the waitresses about our food and refills took forever. we went on our son’s birthday, they're were a couple of other groups celebrating birthdays too, the only difference was that they got their dessert with a candle and the waitress sang with them and my son only got the dessert with no candle and no singing waitress, they had a busboy deliver it . will not return.

burgers were great, beer cheese fries were awesome,servicewas good. only gripe was that the milk shakes are a joke.

ourservicewas fantastic, the restaurant was inviting, our food was 50/50. thumbs up for creativity, thumbs down for quality control. we started with slater's fries & bacon catsup. the fries arrived to our table cold and tasting old. the bacon catsup was the only part of the meal we enjoyed. the flamin' hot was not. my husband's 50/50 by design must have been enjoyed by another patron, as someone else's design came to our table. he finished less than half and did not care for the strange after taste of the pattie. great ideas poorly executed. perhaps our expectations were too high. i'd rather have a habit burger.

slaters sucks at making burgers. we thought we would give them a second chance. food is the worst. just because it has bacon doesn't mean it will be better. dry dry and burnt on the bottom. really. i ordered it medium not even close. our waitress natalie was very good. otherwise this visit was the worst. we will not be back.. it's also a bar, so i guess if you have enough to drink you can't taste the food. i give the a 1 only because theservicewas good.

very unhappy!!!!!!. we made a trip from riverside to check this place out. very little handicapped parking. yes handicapped people do eat out. the place was packed. plenty of room in the bar area. but if your there for a burger, cramped quarters. the people in the back are really packed in. not wheelchair friendly at all. then when they told us about the wait. well i wasn't willing to wait. realistically i'm about 15 minutes away from five guys. that's a no brainer. in all fairness. i will give them another try some day.

this place has it all! fun atmosphere, unique menu, attentiveserviceand terrific food. i had a veggie burger and my hubby and son had 50/50 burgers which are half ground beef and half bacon!

great food, fun menu, very friendly and attentive service! my 16 yr old son said its the best burger he's had in his life!

mmmmm. so good and you can customize it any way you want it so great! the down falls the wait outside was awful, theservicewas ehhhh, and because of the bacon there was a thin layer of grease on just about everything so dont wear silk of any kind.

this was my first time eating at slaters. the only reason i went was to get the 50/50. i made my own burger, checked off everything i wanted specifically and waited patiently. we got appetizers and noticed no plates or silverwear (after the waiter only gave us 2 straws when there was 3 people and 3 drinks). no biggie on that, it was busy and that was understandable. but when i got my order is when everything changed. remember, its my first time. so i have no idea what the burger is supposed to taste like. i proceeded to eat it and noticed it didn't taste like bacon at all. it actually sucked. the meat had no flavor. my friend, who ordered a regular patty started to complain that his burger tasted like bacon. he was nearly finished with it so i asked to taste a part of the patty to see if it tasted different from mine. sure enough it tasted like bacon. i couldn't beleive it. after all that $hitservicethis is what i get. it was the only reason i went to this place and they can't even get my patty right. wow. so in conclusion congrats slaters 50/50 you screwed me over and are officially my first review/negative review ever.

went yesterday for the first time, it was so good i wish i lived closer to san diego. i tried 4 different things off the menu, all we're great and theservicewas just as great. now i only wish their was a slaters 50/50 in north county..

excellent. the customerserviceis excellent and the burgers are fabulous !! they serve the best burgers in san diego!!!

awesome burgers and shakes great service. went here recently and the other reviewers are all wrongserviceis absolutely exemplary and top notch. glad the owner scott slater is there almost all the time as he is also very accommodating. boy do they get it right at this place the 50/50 burger 2/3 lb is one of the best pieces of meat i have ever chomped into between two marvelous perfectly done pieces of hamburger bun. the toppings are better than the counter choices (how can you go wrong with baconaise) by the way the milkshakes are almost as good if not better than the burgers. they are in a little non descript strip mall, but is well worth the drive and the find do yourself a favor order the 50/50 as large as you want and the owner will fix it for you. be prpraed to take some home. i tried and mine did not last the trip home.

good burger in oc. we tried an off the menu burger and a "build it yourself" burger. the former was outstanding, as spicy as touted. our do-it-yourself was a little too experimental. agree with an older review here, need to try several burgers off their menu to really know the food here. next up: the peanut butter burger.
