slaters sucks at making burgers. we thought we would give them a second chance. food is the worst. just because it has bacon doesn't mean it will be better. dry dry and burnt on the bottom. really. i ordered it medium not even close. our waitress natalie was very good. otherwise this visit was the worst. we will not be back.. it's also a bar, so i guess if you have enough to drink you can't taste the food. i give the a 1 only because the service was good.

very unhappy!!!!!!. we made a trip from riverside to check this place out. very little handicapped parking. yes handicapped people do eat out. the place was packed. plenty of room in the bar area. but if your there for a burger, cramped quarters. the people in the back are really packed in. not wheelchair friendly at all. then when they told us about the wait. well i wasn't willing to wait. realistically i'm about 15 minutes away from five guys. that's a no brainer. in all fairness. i will give them another try some day.

now for the star, the 50/50 burger, with bacon ketchup instead of aioli because what’s better than ketchup and bacon? topped with a fried egg, avocado mash and pepper jack cheese all on top of a 50/50 patty and crispy, buttery bun. bacon decadence. i managed to make it halfway through my burger, but then my body when into a bacon coma. something every bacon lover should try at least once in their life. you have your spice, your creamy avocado and your breakfast, not to mention your bacon x2.

terrible food. very disapponting, i wen there when it first opened and itwas great. though yesterday went with a group of co workers in the hotel industry..the vampirs dip, which is supposed to have artichokes in it..really couldnt taste it and was so full of mayo..it was cold and so were the soggy pita chips. then everyones burgers were cold, i had the alarm which was ok though lacking in meat flavor.... the server didnt seenm to care that the food was cold etc...dont waste your time, there are many other great burger places that have great burgers that are hot.

it's about the burger. ambiance - not much. almost reminds me of a fire hall on a friday night. food - incredible. leave your dr's advice at home when you go here - the 50% beef, 50% bacon is the hot ticket. no muss, no fuss. and you won't believe you at the whole thing. not until later when you calculate the calories you consumed......go find this place if you are in the area. it's in an outdoor strip mall, almost passed it twice. won't forget it now.

if you are looking for a place to grab a burger over the weekend, a couple of weeks ago i checked out slater’s 50/50 in point loma (http://sandiego.slaters5050.com/home/). there are a couple other locations up north (anaheim and huntington beach), but this is san diego’s 1st slater’s, and it wouldn’t surprise me if more open. franz and i went on a sunday around noon. we knew it would be crowded, but we hoped for the best. when we arrived, it was a long wait so we grabbed seats at the outside bar - no wait and you can order meals. we noticed there were a few tables open, but i assumed they were empty for a particular reason. the second

mmmmm. so good and you can customize it any way you want it so great! the down falls the wait outside was awful, the service was ehhhh, and because of the bacon there was a thin layer of grease on just about everything so dont wear silk of any kind.

this was my first time eating at slaters. the only reason i went was to get the 50/50. i made my own burger, checked off everything i wanted specifically and waited patiently. we got appetizers and noticed no plates or silverwear (after the waiter only gave us 2 straws when there was 3 people and 3 drinks). no biggie on that, it was busy and that was understandable. but when i got my order is when everything changed. remember, its my first time. so i have no idea what the burger is supposed to taste like. i proceeded to eat it and noticed it didn't taste like bacon at all. it actually sucked. the meat had no flavor. my friend, who ordered a regular patty started to complain that his burger tasted like bacon. he was nearly finished with it so i asked to taste a part of the patty to see if it tasted different from mine. sure enough it tasted like bacon. i couldn't beleive it. after all that $hit service this is what i get. it was the only reason i went to this place and they can't even get my patty right. wow. so in conclusion congrats slaters 50/50 you screwed me over and are officially my first review/negative review ever.

went for a work farewell party and ordered the "old timey" one third lb burger. despite its good looks, the burger had no taste, fell apart as i tried to eat it and was not worth almost $10 bucks! maybe you need a few beers to make worth it! won't bother trying it again.

great place. this place pretty much only serves burgers and beer. the first two beers i picked, they were out of. when i asked the waiter for a suggestion he recommended two beers which i throughly enjoyed. i got the flaming hot burger. it was really tasty but not ridiculously spicy like i anticipated. my wife didn't like the beer she ordered (not their fault) and her burger came out more of a medium / medium-rare despite having ordered well done. so basically, i had a really great meal and would definitely go back but my wife was less than thrilled with her experience.

had their signature '50/50.... had their signature ''50/50" burger, most delicious burger i've ever eaten. huge selection of beers from around the country on tap. only gripe is the music is too loud (or i'm too old)
