recommend the vampire dip, fried bacon mac n' cheese balls and make your own burger!

half bacon patties are amazing. definitely a must if you love bacon. 

great place to eat, have a beer, and watch sports.

the burgers are great especially the create your own but the restaurant is way to crowded. the outside makes it look like the place is going to be nice and quiet but no the place is roaring with voices and i could barely hear the people at my table.

be ready to have a huge hamburger. the 50/50 is da bomb. the flavor is really tasty. i like the different ketchup's too bacon ketchup & vodka ketchup (my fav). my husband created his own burger which was ok. the meat seemed a tad tough in comparison to mine. the fries & onion rings were delish too! had the cucumber mojito and my husband had a beer. desserts sounds delish but there was no room to indulge on anything more! def. coming back as i saw some other dishes that caught my eye!

went in with high expectations but left a little disappointed. i chose to visit slaters 50/50 based on the positive reviews. came here with a friend and we decided on the pbj burger and the flaming hot (waitresses recommendation) so we split the two in half so we could try both. service was good , however burgers not as tasty as i expected. the pbj was a dry , felt the same about the flaming hot as well. i knew the pbj would be a slight risk given that it's different so i was hoping the waitresses recommendation on the flaming hot would sway my opinion on this place. i usually base my foodpinion on how the first bite is and how the meal makes me feel after ( ie. am i craving more and do i want to come back). sadly as much as i wanted to love this place given its unique burger combos , i wouldn't come back nor would i recommend it.

poutine was amazing! decided to go for the design ur own 50/50 burger. it was good, but not great. really wanted to love it but it really was very dense and dry. i would have thought having 50 percent bacon it wouldn't have been so dry. it was cooked well even though i asked for medium, not a deal breaker but might b why it was dry. overall really good, and will try again

signature items start off with the namesake 50/50 signature patty topped with a sunny side up egg, avocado mash, pepper jack cheese and chipotle adobo mayo on white brioche.

pros: the burgers were excellent and our bartender, billy joe, was great. cons: everything else. the bacon jalapeño mac & cheese tasted like it came out of a $.90 box by kraft. it was runny, there was no bacon in it, and it was topped by 2 slices of jalapeño and crushed cheez-it's. and it took 40 minutes to get it. the milkshake tasted like melted ice cream which may explain why it took 20 minutes to make it. recommendation: get their burgers to go.

burgers and beer. i come here about once a month. great beer selection and great service.

best burger ever!. i had the merica burger today and it was amazing. its only here for the month so i suggest going to get one...

the merica burger (100% bacon) was amazing! the wait staff was great as we'll.

not worth it. over all experience was a 2.5 out of 5. good was plain and the server didn't bother to read our burgers name. if you have a niche you should at least follow it.

how can you not like a burger made from 50% ground beef and 50% ground bacon? the place lives up to the hype. it looks like a sports bar, but this is no ordinary bar food. one of the best menu items is the "peanut butter and jealosy" burger. as the name suggests, it's a hamburger with peanut butter and jelly on it. but it's really so much more. almost drug like its so good.
now i must say, this place had an unofficial mascot who ate there all the time and he ended up with a serious cardiac event. this place should provably be a once in awhile treat.

the asian influence on the menu is apparent with many of dishes being sweet, tart, spicy, or a combination of all. the chicken wings are savory and different, they are not fried but are battered in rice, something that confused my palette yet kept me interested. the poached farm egg is a delight to anyone who loves egg yolk. the boiled peanuts hidden within yield a breakfast-dinner sensation that you wouldn’t expect from bar-food.

burger-centric eateries are abundant in the city of san diego, but there is only one where you can get a 50% beef / 50% bacon patty and choose from over 100 beers on tap – hail slater’s 50/50 . slater’s 50/50 started in anaheim in 2008 and quickly gained popularity due to its more than ample beer selection, large portions of bacon covered comfort food, and the half beef/half bacon burger patties.  now with three so-cal locations, the newest recently opened in point loma’s liberty station and is sure to be a hit in this beer and burger-loving city. pioneered by 29 year old owner, scott slater, slater’s 50/50 is the result of a bad economy.  when the 2008 market crash occurred, slater saw it hit the construction business and substantially slow down traffic to his over 30 hot dog stands situated outside various home depot locations around the country.

slaters 50/50. very good food. large portions. good prices. i design my own burger. 50/50 meat, cheddar cheese, grilled onions, fried egg on a pretzel bread. we also had vampire dip. wife had an old timey burger and mint chocolate shake. will be back again.
