want seafood? you found it. perhaps the best overall value for seafood in the fort walton beach area. eaten here over a dozen times and the quality of the food is always consistent. great choice for lunch or dinner, it gets busy though. quite frankly if you are new to the area or just visiting and want some seafood? start here, you won't be disappointed. my personal favorite is the fried shrimp and grits.

awesome dinner. not on waterfront, but half the price of those that are. food is just as good if not better than the popular places. without the wait! i'll go back for sure.

we stopped here last fall after hearing great reviews and were pleasantly surprised. the gumbo was delicious and the breeding on the fried oysters was light and crispy,not overly breaded so the flavor of the oyster shone through

authentic "salt life" atmosphere. prices are great. grilled mahi mahi was outstanding! excellent fried fish and gulf shrimp. great experience. a must if youre visiting and looking for affordable local seafood. ill be going back to stewby's!!

great food!. if you live in or are visiting ft. walton this is one of those restaurants you have to eat at. my wife and i aren't seafood fans but we wanted to try out a greater variety of fish and seafood types. stewby's has excellent prices for seafood and excellent food. they serve whatever fish they can get fresh locally so your fish choice is pretty limited but always fresh. we've been coming back and the fish does change, so we've been able to try several types of fish. it's always good though. we've tried almost all of the side and they have always been great too.

it's definitely a very casual dining experience so don't expect a fine dining seafood spot (just in case "shanty" didn't tip you off).

we really like the fish tacos, the bacon wrapped crab stuffed fried shrimp, the cheese grits, the baked beans, and the hush puppies. we didn't like the fried calamari or the seafood gumbo though.

stewby's is a must if you're in ft. walton!

awesome place!!. stewby's is an awesome place for fabulous seafood, it is off the beaten path for tourists but well worth the drive. my family has talked about stewby's and going back there since our vacation last year. it is an annual stop on our spring break trips!!

i love grilled fish from hogs breath but now we have a seafood place in good ole fwb that is the real deal. love this place

best seafood in town!. this is the best seafood you could ever ask for. we usually get the seafood platter since it has a little of everything on it. everything i've had there is wonderful, from the fried okra to their coleslaw. the prices are reasonable considering the portions and quality i love the atmosphere, too. now whenever i need my seafood fix, it's stewby's. if you want good, down-home, fresh seafood, this is the place to go. you can't go wrong with anything on their menu!

great tasting fish. we've been going to stewby's for about a yr; and we always find the food to be outstanding. we tried to go there about once per week.

yummy!!!! :). i looovvvvve stewby's seafood shanty! we were a party of 9 and they were very accommodating to our needs and wants. the hush-puppies were to die for and the fish was the best i've had. living in missouri, i think about stewby's all the time and i can't wait until we move to the fort walton beach area so i can have it all the time. stewby's seafood shanty is a definite must have when in the area!!!

best seafood in fort walton!. i love the grilled fish tacos and fried fish. gumbo is yummy. fresh and hot food. staff is really friendly. cool atmosphere. we are definitely regulars.

my kind of place!. a couple co-workers and i were working in montgomery, al for a few weeks and decided to drive down to the florida coast on the weekend. based on several positive reviews we decided to have lunch at stewby's seafood shanty and we weren't disappointed!

stewby's has the three things i look for in a restaurant... good food... a reasonable price and a great atmosphere! i had the grilled shrimp tacos which were fantastic! another in our party had his very first fried shrimp sandwich (po boys to most of us) and loved it! and another had the combination platter of fried shrimp, oysters and amberjack (the catch of the day) which was so good... it was the only meal he had that day!

it was a beautiful march day and having the fresh air blowing through the outdoor patio provided just the right atmosphere to be enjoying fresh seafood on the coast.

will definitively be making this a regular stop whenever i travel back to florida or any place within a few hours driving distance of this little gem.
