allow me to begin with saying, this experienced started sucking before i even set foot inside the place. it started with parking. we parked, but saw meters. so someone went in to ask if parking was free on the weekend or not, and we were told "i don't know." not off to a great start. you should at least know if the parking lot in front of your establishment is paid or not on weekends, but whatever.

so i went over to the meter. discovered i need the license plate number to get a ticket. walk back to the car (it wasn't mine) to get the number. walk back to the meter. put in the info. instead of spitting out a ticket it says "an error has occurred". try again, same thing. i see that there is another meter at the opposite end of the parking lot. go over there. same thing. twice. no information on either as to whether or not weekend are free or not. eventually, i give up and just go inside.

i am greeted with an incredibly busy establishment. fortunately, my group is already at the front of the line by the time i am done figuring out the parking. i take a quick look at the menu and decide to get the pancake and a coffee. they ask for their tip up front on the machine, and considering i hadn't actually received any service yet, i see no reason to leave a tip at that stage.we are given a sign to go put on our table, and told to go make our own coffee at the opposite end of the restaurant. we then have to hunt for a table, because the place is packed, and there are at least 5 other groups looking for a table. we are fortunate enough to find a small, wobbly table that will certainly not be big enough for our plates. plus, since the place is so crammed and people are hunting for tables, you get bumped about every 2 minutes.ourfoodcomes, and the pancake was very large, and quite good. the fresh fruit was nice, the maple butter was excellent, and the creme fraiche was a very nice though. the coffee was average.overall, thefoodwas quite good, which i liked. however, all the hassle and stress involved prior to receiving our food, was not quite worth it. the overall experience ruined it for me. i won't be back, even though thefoodis good.

overrated and overpriced.foodis okay, but definitely not worth the cost... often times, they have items/food on the chalkboard (no real menus) that isn't being sold that particular day. their desserts are delicious, though!

thefoodwas good, the place was unorganized and they should really get a menu, even if your menu is seasonal it's better than trying to guess who's ever handwriting is on the chalk board

art is in, but service is out. thefoodis great, but the atmosphere is hectic. if you want to sit, chat, and enjoy an unhurried meal, then art is in is not the place for you. andrew and i went for "brunch" on a sunday. originally, we went on saturday, but it was too crazy so we left and went to the ministry of coffee. if you're planning on going during the actual brunch time period (i.e. 10:00am onward), i wouldn't recommend going on an absolutely empty stomach, especially if you're like me and get "hangry" (hungry + angry at life & angry at lack of sustenance immediately available for your body)...

ridiculous. if you enjoy your meat slightly raw, your hot chocolate served out of a container labeled "duck fat" or are looking for a place to sip your latte while breastfeeding your baby, you will love art is in bakery.

this filthy warehouse location has overpricedfoodwhich continues to rise with popularity, a chaotic atmosphere with terrible acoustics, cinder block walls and tattered benches, if you like to dine with strangers, you will love it!

the menu is confusing and always
changing. it is broken up in to categories such as "sandwiches" and "not sandwiches", yet sandwiches are in fact, listed in the " not sandwiches" section. alot of thier items are not available. you might order something and sit down, just to have a busy and flustered employee come out and tell you that what you ordered is not actually available and you need to choose something else. (it also takes about 20 minutes for a sandwich). it may also be a good idea to bring your own cutlery and takeout tupperware, or a water bottle to fill yourself. menu items may double in price or jump from around $7.00 to $12.95 as soon as it starts to become popular...

on the brighter side, the bread is amazing and baked fresh daily, as well as the pastries and they usually have a huge variety. you could easily walk in and order a couple dozen pastries and some other baked goods. everything is really good quality.

if i were you, i'd check it out as they do have a lot to offer, but don't expect a place to relax as people will be bumping into your chair, and you will be asked to leave 15 minutes after you finish yourfoodand you may not receive all of your order. also, you might get a parking ticket. oh, and don't expect great service..or any service really....check it out

food was great but overpriced. i visited this spot one lunch time out of curiosity because of the rave reviews. i had a cheddar scone and the clam chowder, which were absolutely superb, but i felt a bit ashamed at the time for spending so much money on simply on soup and scone for take-out. it took an extremely long time to get thefoodas well with both line up and being served (which i find ridiculous... come on, it's soup!). for someone with the time and money to spend, i recommend it.

too expensive and very slow servers. a group of 8 go out for breakfast every 6 weeks. i ordered an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and herbal tea. the bill came to over $10.00. the sandwich arrived cold after 20 minutes. the water for the tea was luke warm. the other 5 people waited for another 15 to 20 minute. still no food. one person went to find out what was going on. she was told thefoodwould arrive shortly. thefoodfinally arrived with no cutlery which was added after another delay. one person inquired about her coffee 3 times before it finally arrived at the table. we meet on tuesday mornings. there were very few people in the bakery at that time on tuesday morning. someone tell me what is the appeal of being served cold and expensivefoodunder the guise of being hip and healthy.? there are other places way better than this place serving healthy breakfasts. we won't be going back.

not only that, but the service is terrible.

this place will be my demise...or at least for my figure. i just moved down the street and my semi annual dalliance with artisan has turned into semi-monthlyfoodaffair. but i just can't get enough or at least i just can't seem to get a breakfast burger! i have been trying almost everything on the (sunday brunch) menu and they are all delicious and extremely filling for one person. only one i'm not crazy about is the regular eggs benny...which i find a bit plain but that's just me. i absolutely love the pulled pork breakfast sandwich and breakfast poutine. if you are a light-weight bruncher, these items should be ordered with a side of a take-out box. i love my food/meat and this was too much even for me. i can only imagine what the breakfast burger is like. mmmmm can't wait!
ohhh ps- you must try their pastries. it's perfectly balanced in sweetness, texture and decadence.
and if you are a big eater- highly highly recommend the big k burger. it's worth every penny (and extra inch around the waistline)

love this place. i can taste the care that has gone into each creation with every bite. the owners obviously care about the flavour and quality of thefoodthey sell and serve. the burger is by far the best i have ever had. it's not a pick and choose your own toppings kind of burger, it comes already dressed like a culinary work of art. everything is prepared there with exciting and unique flavours, even the ketchup is made in house! the spicy pickle melt is my go to for comfort food. i always feel better after eating one. hot, tart and savoury......wait does that sound weird? you guys are going to have to trust me on this one. it's everything you ever wanted without even knowing it. the sticky buns are literally irresistible, like some sort of glorious pastry candy hybrid. if you know someone who is pissing you off by being too skinny, stick one of these bad boys in front of them, instant addict. when i go into eat i always buy a loaf of the crazy grain bread to take home. i should really try one of the other kind of loaves one day, but you know when you love something so much..... . okay so it's not cheap, but i am sick of reading whiny reviews about their prices. i appreciate people who are not willing to compromise the quality of their product to bring down the prices. if you want a cheap burger or sandwich there's plenty of places to get one. if you want something exceptional go to art is in.
