wanted to try thisrestaurantbased on the hype it had and zomato rating . the ambience is very pleasing . neatly arranged with appropriate lights . also located in a calm residential place . menu is lengthy but all the items may not be available. depends on what they chose to prepare for the day.
i visited this place with loads of expectations . i just ordered a chicken briyani and my review is gonna be just based on that . the briyani which came after a while, was in a closed bowl neatly covered -when opened had a good pleasant appetising aroma . but there ends the good part 🙂. i eagerly went for the first bite 🥄 🍴 . it wasn’t tasting even close to briyani . it was a hurrily cooked rice and gravies put together . the spices were very imbalanced . you might see a small chicken leg on the top of the bowl and that’s it for the meat portion for the entire briyani .service was ok or even below average for a dine out restaurant. i definitely din’t like the taste of the briyani and the curry . infact i wouldn’t tag that as briyani . the place had a few family getting together .. there were load of free tables even on a weekend . i would say more of a hangout spot rather than a dine out spot. do try other dishes if you happen to visit thisrestaurantand share your feedbacks cos am definitely not gonna visit again . 😋. as like many others, was deceived by the rating . happy eating !!

the ice creams came melted. the delivery executive said that he had to pick up a second order in anotherrestaurantwhere he was kept waiting, which resulted in our ice creams getting melted. pls ensure that ice cream orders are not clubbed with food orders. tnx

we have been there twice and most of the tables being full, they were courteous to arrange n serve us. if you're planning for a weekend lunch, it's better to call and make reservation. their biryani gets over so quick!

about food :
we have had badami shorba which is so aromatic n tastes excellent. their non veg platter n chicken 65 were yummy too..
talking about biryani - they serve the best mutton and prawn biryani. you've to definitely try their mutton and prawn biryani if you're in chennai.

good hospitality by therestaurantowner but the servers could serve better.

good food with very good taste. one of the finestrestaurantwith sufficient quantity delivered. i loved the chicken 65 briyani in which the chicken 65 was all with flesh and not bones which i see only in thisrestaurantthis adds an extra credits for serving for money genuinely.

seeing the great reviews and ratings in zomato our foodie gang decided on this one for our treat! the exterior definitely is a put off and the interior was like any of the normal restaurants..this was unexpected as it had great pics on zomato..

aatukaal soup is wt v decided to try as the name itself was tempting enough! it was okayish and the flavour was not deep enough..

for starters , tried fish fingers and some chicken kebab..both were kinda bland and v have tasted better!

main course - tried their signature chicken dum briyani which was surprisingly bland and was kinda a variety rice.. the garlic naan and prawn pepper masala was a good match as suggested by the manager..but the game saver for us was the schezwan egg noodles which definitely was in par with any asianrestaurantin town..

dessert - shahi tukda - a kinda bread pudding which was average and the chocolate ice cream was worth the try- delicious!!

overall definitely not happy with the quantity and the taste for the bucks v paid and it is a one time tryrestaurantfor us!

don’t get fooled by the name, as it is not a mediterranean/arabian cuisine-offering eatery. al maza is a typical north indian restaurant, and a pretty good one at that. we have been coming here on and off since 3-4 years now, and every experience was good. so for new year’s eve dinner we decided to come again.

food: 4/5 – we were given butter milk shots as welcome drink, and they gladly gave more on request. achari chicken tikka and coastal prawn were our starters.
both were spicy but yummy. their biriyani is very good, but sadly mutton and regular chicken biriyani got over very early it seems, owing to a lot of phone orders and take out orders earlier that evening. so we were left with chicken 65 biriyani and egg biriyani. tandoori roti and chicken xacuti (really spicy!) were also good. most of the spice was cooled off with the mildly sweet thandai drink. their rose milk is also a good option.

ambience: 5/5 – décor and furnishing look elegant. that and their lighting makes you feel like you are dining in a palace. they have ample seating place for various groups.

service: 4/5 – since it was new year’s eve, the place was packed. luckily, we had reserved a table. service was quick once the order was taken, but due to the increasing crowd getting them to take the order was a task. however, the manager and waiters were quick and efficient and handled the situation with ease. there is no valet parking. if the designated area is full, parking is pretty manageable in the vicinity, as therestaurantis located at a junction of a residential area.

overall, a great place with good food, and you would want to visit again.

this place is so awesome......the finest biriyani in the town and the starter are also so good......they welcomes with warm greetings and seated in the beautiful lovely silent ambiance with the live kitchen the place is so awesome and service is so good.......if you hesitate about the menu they explains how and eats in it.....the beautiful place located on the first floor with great service........the dessert shahi tukda i felt in love with that .....no words to say about that.....price is bit costly and biriyani quantity is little i felt they could increase the size for the money they get from us ....good place.

al-maza, the fine diningrestaurantat anna nagar, ain’t no love like the love of a biriyani here, you may visit many time to this place but the quality and the taste always remains the same, though i am visiting this place often the taste remains the same as it was. not only for its biriyani all its menu. the fine dining remains the very fine dining. 😁😄. .
.
.
highly recommended for this place you will definitely experience the fine dining experience. somerestaurantno need of advertisement one such kind is this place.
***********************************************
note: check for the biriyani availability before you visit, because it’s runs out of stock too soon.
.
.

food taste and quality: 4.5/5
service:4/5
ambiance:5/5.

firstly, the place was really good.restaurantambience was cool and new. lighting was relatively better, could've been more brighter.

speed of service: speed was okay. gravy took time to come. starters were extremely fast to reach. service on the whole was good as they were very fast in clearing the plates and the used utensils.

cost: the place is kinda costly. it costed us almost 2.2k for a family dinner of 4 people. seafood could've been more cheaper.

worth for cost: was okay for 2.2k. but still could've been more cheaper as the dishes were almost the same as normal-priced restaurants.

p.s- keep up the good work and prices can be reduced a bit as it is slightly overpriced. the taste was good enough for dinner. have to try lunch once. buffet options are available for lunch, everyone can def give a try :)

went to a birthday party in thisrestaurantwhich is situated in anna nagar east the street adjacent to porr and sons near roundtana. situated on the first floor, the ambience was good and clean, has around 50+ seaters with visible kitchen, a growing kitchen trend nowadays.

therestaurantowner was courteous and guided us from the time entered till the time we exit. we are 20 in the count, butter milk and pappad was given as a compliment.

we started from soup,

 attukal soup - tasted average

tandoori pepper chicken- tasted great,

murg malai kebab- pieces of chicken marinated in cream sauce cooked in tandoor tasted excellent, the chicken was so soft and tender and melted in our mouth.

paneer –e-kas-sheek – cottage cheese kebab glazed with mozzarella cheese, cream & dry fruits with indian herbs cooked in tandoor, tasted average

rara ghost – mixture of minced mutton and mutton with rich & spicy gravy garnished with chopped egg, tasted great.

mutton/chicken dum biriyani- both the biriyani’s tasted good

apart from that butter roti, mutton chukka, peas pulao, chilly babycorn, egg noodles, schezwan egg noodles, vegetable biriyani’s were ordered.

for dessert, we ordered butter scotch, mango and chocolate ice cream.

finally, we ordered

shahi tukda- also known as double ka meetha is a sweet of lucknow, a muhalai bread pudding and is an ultimate winter dessert. small pieces of bread fried in ghee and topped with creamy rabri.

the bill came around 6500/- for 20 members.

overall almaza is a great place to have f o o d.
