went to this place around 1pm for lunch along with mom. we felt bit uneasy as around 20 men were there but after 10 minutes everyone left until we were done with lunch no other person came i wonder why is that.

anyway the service was pretty quick and interior is just usual. we got rara murg with steamed rice, murg banjara kebab, manchowchickensoup andchickendum briyani parcel. i pretty much impressed with the quantity of curry, kebab was well marinated and taste good. soup taste is bland. briyani was okaykish nothing special in that.

they give buttermilk in shot glasses as complimentary. it's on first floor which caused us trouble as mother while climbing. slightly overpriced according to the taste.

ambience is good. you will be welcomed with buttermilk shots. we started with murgh badami soup which is perfect taste ofchickenand badam flavour in it, we orderedchickenmurgh banjara, mutton seekh kebab and fish tandoori starters are also good which are served with pudina chutney and mayo. we ordered mutton biryani and fried rice which are decent taste. best part we ended with falooda which is really tasted very nice.

al maza is something which is been the unsung hero of anna nagar. they have the popular dishes of mughal and north indian cuisine and almost all dishes are perfect. but, space is an issue for group meal.

it's in the road that connects shenoy nagar part, behind titan showroom. parking is bit of a problem as there's no exclusive parking space for the restaurant.

the ambiance pretty much got the elegant and vibrant arabian decor. interestingly, the kitchen is behind glass partion and trust me, there's no gordan ramsay stuff going on.

we were welcomed with pineapple juice and pappad as complimentary and we went for the dishes. to start with the starters, we had the nonveg platter and seafood platter, they were tender and tasted great. the indian breads were good -butter, garlic, phulka, kashmiri, kheema. also had the tokri platter to taste the assortment varieties. the veg side dishes - bharwan mushroom and paneer mirch gravies were high on spices but complimented the mains pretty well. the anda curry stood alone with rich flavours clustered in own dish. the non veg sides were great - methi murg and rara murg. especially rara murgh is spicy but that's why it is favorited here. since, i heard thechickenbiryani was the specialty here, i tried it but it didnt appeal me as it had lesser flavours. the veg variant had the same issue. finally we had the shahi thukda which brought us back to the good spirits.

the service is fair but since our group exceeded their normal customer seating count, they lagged the promptness and even missed taking note of one or two dishes we ordered. the pricing seems bit higher for its quantity but the food's sanguinity will make your try one.

probably one of the best place for non vegetarians.. but me being a vegetarian found the place good enough as well.. the soup and veg starter platter was huge and yummy.. though some might some of the dishes super spicy, it only enhanced the taste.. the rotis was super soft as well.. my. mom who had mutton biryani considered it to be the best she had tasyed in recent years..

the desserts were okish and the shahi tukda could have been slightly better..

ambience was awesome and less noisy.. and it is always better to confirm if the veg dishes are served properly as i got achickenmanchow soup instead of veg and the waiter dint agree when i called it out initially.. but after checking it out more, the management apologized sincerely and replaced it..

not sure what happened but we got only 3 pieces ofchickenin each dish. pls rectify and refund

went here for a family dinner. the place was fully packed as it was new year day. we ordered seafood platter, mushroom masala,chickenkheema naan, butter naan and peas pulao. none of the dishes did justice to the quantity. kheema naan had very little kheema in it. loved the mushroom masala. the seafood platter had only fish and prawns. all the pieces of the fish just looked different in colour but tasted the same. so coming to the most annoying part, we had to complete our foor and wait for 30mins for the pulao. they should know how to control the crowd.

wanted to try this restaurant based on the hype it had and zomato rating . the ambience is very pleasing . neatly arranged with appropriate lights . also located in a calm residential place . menu is lengthy but all the items may not be available. depends on what they chose to prepare for the day.
i visited this place with loads of expectations . i just ordered achickenbriyani and my review is gonna be just based on that . the briyani which came after a while, was in a closed bowl neatly covered -when opened had a good pleasant appetising aroma . but there ends the good part 🙂. i eagerly went for the first bite 🥄 🍴 . it wasn’t tasting even close to briyani . it was a hurrily cooked rice and gravies put together . the spices were very imbalanced . you might see a smallchickenleg on the top of the bowl and that’s it for the meat portion for the entire briyani .service was ok or even below average for a dine out restaurant. i definitely din’t like the taste of the briyani and the curry . infact i wouldn’t tag that as briyani . the place had a few family getting together .. there were load of free tables even on a weekend . i would say more of a hangout spot rather than a dine out spot. do try other dishes if you happen to visit this restaurant and share your feedbacks cos am definitely not gonna visit again . 😋. as like many others, was deceived by the rating . happy eating !!

afgani murg was sweet which should the taste andchickenwas not tender too. the rest items are good. chilli milichickentikka was very tasty.

chicken paratha is the only thing i didn't like here so far, expected it to be stuffed withchickenshreds... instead it was a minced thin layer that didn't taste so chickeny :(

this place has some amazing starters and other foods.

i orderedchickenfried rice , it's taste was amazing , but the quantity is very low , it's not an valuable quantity for the cost of food. food was good.

this place never disappoints i would say . i have been ordering food from this place over a few years now and they make sure they maintain the quality . ordered the following :chicken65 biriyani - the taste has changed over the few years but it’s still good and would my favourite always( special mention to the rich brinjal gravy and raita which hasn’t changed at all) , paneer tikka masala - definitely yumm, veg fried rice - good . bit pricy to order frequently but worthy choice for special occasions . not to forget that the portions are pretty huge .

i would recommend this place. mutton biriyani is better thanchickenbiriyani. afganichickentikka was nice, tender & juicy. it’s a good place to order food as well. their take away packing is good.

one the classic cult restaurents in chennai for arabic mutton andchickenlovers my mouth waters when i hear this restaurents name.

the biryani also has a very unique taste.

we have been there twice and most of the tables being full, they were courteous to arrange n serve us. if you're planning for a weekend lunch, it's better to call and make reservation. their biryani gets over so quick!

about food :
we have had badami shorba which is so aromatic n tastes excellent. their non veg platter nchicken65 were yummy too..
talking about biryani - they serve the best mutton and prawn biryani. you've to definitely try their mutton and prawn biryani if you're in chennai.

good hospitality by the restaurant owner but the servers could serve better.

visited this place almost after 4 years.. surprised to see the same quality nd taste in their food.. this s place for best kababa and tikkas... fine dining place with good interiors in annanagar..

coastal fish fry: blend of our regular fish fry and kabab.. soft and fresh fish steaks...

tandoori pepper chicken: fusion of tandoori nd barbequechickenwith more of pepper flavour nd taste.

shahi tukda ..mini slices of bread deep-fried and drenched in malai or rabdi.. tasted yummm ..
