a great place with wonderful ambience, great food and service. this was actually our first time at the restaurant. the locale itself was very quiet as it is in a residential area. we ordered prawns mehrusnnisa - very good andmuttonkebab - exceptional. the service was prompt and the waiters were very pleasant. will visit again for more varieties!

service is exceptional in this place. it's a good place for kebabs and grilled meat. all kinds of meat. the lassoni prawn was mouth watering and the kalmi kebab so juicy! oh my! 😍😍😍😍😍


biriyani was below average , didn't like it at all. themuttonshorba was ok. go here for the kebabs and the grills.

ambience is good. you will be welcomed with buttermilk shots. we started with murgh badami soup which is perfect taste of chicken and badam flavour in it, we ordered chicken murgh banjara,muttonseekh kebab and fish tandoori starters are also good which are served with pudina chutney and mayo. we orderedmuttonbiryani and fried rice which are decent taste. best part we ended with falooda which is really tasted very nice.

probably one of the best place for non vegetarians.. but me being a vegetarian found the place good enough as well.. the soup and veg starter platter was huge and yummy.. though some might some of the dishes super spicy, it only enhanced the taste.. the rotis was super soft as well.. my. mom who hadmuttonbiryani considered it to be the best she had tasyed in recent years..

the desserts were okish and the shahi tukda could have been slightly better..

ambience was awesome and less noisy.. and it is always better to confirm if the veg dishes are served properly as i got a chicken manchow soup instead of veg and the waiter dint agree when i called it out initially.. but after checking it out more, the management apologized sincerely and replaced it..

almaza is our default go-to place for a quiet lunch or dinner. set in a quiet corner in anna nagar, the place offers a good ambience and is an ideal spot for a family gathering. what i like about the place is how accommodating they are of their customer’s needs. many a times i have ordered food with special dietary needs (no salt, no oil etc) and each time they have delivered without hesitation. their prawn andmuttondishes are a must try. we always go back for zahir who is a friendly face and ensures that we are comfortable. courteous staff, hygienic setting and super yummy food. worth the money.

i've been to almaza many times, they always serve high quality food with good taste and portion. last time i went they didn't have any of themuttonstarter exceptmuttonsheek kebab. for amuttonlover it was a disappointment. please try to have all the menu items available.

this place is a constant! owners take an extra interest to speak to all their customers. on the food,muttonbiriyani,muttonrara gosht, pudina paratha, daria e agga (fish kebab) and falooda are my favourites. their food is not spicy but very rich in flavours. a must try place.

i would recommend this place.muttonbiriyani is better than chicken biriyani. afgani chicken tikka was nice, tender & juicy. it’s a good place to order food as well. their take away packing is good.

one the classic cult restaurents in chennai for arabicmuttonand chicken lovers my mouth waters when i hear this restaurents name.

the biryani also has a very unique taste.

we have been there twice and most of the tables being full, they were courteous to arrange n serve us. if you're planning for a weekend lunch, it's better to call and make reservation. their biryani gets over so quick!

about food :
we have had badami shorba which is so aromatic n tastes excellent. their non veg platter n chicken 65 were yummy too..
talking about biryani - they serve the bestmuttonand prawn biryani. you've to definitely try theirmuttonand prawn biryani if you're in chennai.

good hospitality by the restaurant owner but the servers could serve better.

very tasty food specially themuttonitems. breads items are also cooked properly..staff behaviour is good but they are little bit slow.. foods were very good.. i recommend this restaurant to visit

don’t get fooled by the name, as it is not a mediterranean/arabian cuisine-offering eatery. al maza is a typical north indian restaurant, and a pretty good one at that. we have been coming here on and off since 3-4 years now, and every experience was good. so for new year’s eve dinner we decided to come again.

food: 4/5 – we were given butter milk shots as welcome drink, and they gladly gave more on request. achari chicken tikka and coastal prawn were our starters.
both were spicy but yummy. their biriyani is very good, but sadlymuttonand regular chicken biriyani got over very early it seems, owing to a lot of phone orders and take out orders earlier that evening. so we were left with chicken 65 biriyani and egg biriyani. tandoori roti and chicken xacuti (really spicy!) were also good. most of the spice was cooled off with the mildly sweet thandai drink. their rose milk is also a good option.

ambience: 5/5 – décor and furnishing look elegant. that and their lighting makes you feel like you are dining in a palace. they have ample seating place for various groups.

service: 4/5 – since it was new year’s eve, the place was packed. luckily, we had reserved a table. service was quick once the order was taken, but due to the increasing crowd getting them to take the order was a task. however, the manager and waiters were quick and efficient and handled the situation with ease. there is no valet parking. if the designated area is full, parking is pretty manageable in the vicinity, as the restaurant is located at a junction of a residential area.

overall, a great place with good food, and you would want to visit again.

poor service.. not a good experience, they not even have a mouth freshener, finger bowl... worst experience with waste of money.. the taste ofmuttonbriyani and garlic naan is nice..

went to a birthday party in this restaurant which is situated in anna nagar east the street adjacent to porr and sons near roundtana. situated on the first floor, the ambience was good and clean, has around 50+ seaters with visible kitchen, a growing kitchen trend nowadays.

the restaurant owner was courteous and guided us from the time entered till the time we exit. we are 20 in the count, butter milk and pappad was given as a compliment.

we started from soup,

 attukal soup - tasted average

tandoori pepper chicken- tasted great,

murg malai kebab- pieces of chicken marinated in cream sauce cooked in tandoor tasted excellent, the chicken was so soft and tender and melted in our mouth.

paneer –e-kas-sheek – cottage cheese kebab glazed with mozzarella cheese, cream & dry fruits with indian herbs cooked in tandoor, tasted average

rara ghost – mixture of mincedmuttonandmuttonwith rich & spicy gravy garnished with chopped egg, tasted great.

mutton/chicken dum biriyani- both the biriyani’s tasted good

apart from that butter roti,muttonchukka, peas pulao, chilly babycorn, egg noodles, schezwan egg noodles, vegetable biriyani’s were ordered.

for dessert, we ordered butter scotch, mango and chocolate ice cream.

shahi tukda- also known as double ka meetha is a sweet of lucknow, a muhalai bread pudding and is an ultimate winter dessert. small pieces of bread fried in ghee and topped with creamy rabri.

the bill came around 6500/- for 20 members.

overall almaza is a great place to have f o o d.

this place is a nice restaurant setup .
we went as four people. we ordered non veg platter which was filling , but disappointed me in size as it was small 😶 and then we had coastal prawns under spicy category 🔥 it was tasty and yummy and spicy at the same time. we also had amuttonbiryani and a chicken briyani.muttonbriyani is a must try there musttttt !! pocket friendly too 💰
