service needs elevating to match locale. vast could/should be better. i know it's new but there is no excuse at this level (no pun intended) for the glitches we experienced. table not ready for a late sitting reservation in a 2/3rds empty house. food was very good but obviously missed that perfect window hitting the table. inexperienced server. was told there was "no butter" after it was obviously just forgotten. sat around waiting for our $40 entrees that obviously had sat around waiting to be served. while the food is good enough to go again the service is hurting what they're serving. one time is enough to enjoy the view.

sorry. my wife and i wanted to dine here but after looking at the reviews we didn't.

many of my customers have eaten there. ( i'm a professional limo driver)

my customers say the same, poor service, cold food and they tell me to go there for drinks only and close another place to dine.

i'm retired from 35 years in the food business
and feedback like this comes from poor management. the only way to change would be out with the old and in with new management.

dress code? okie please. i'd like to see the management staff respond to the lady who was apparently turned away for not wearing proper shoes. then we'll see either a humble and gracious apology for tacky profiling or, more likely, we'll see a defensive and staunch position on stupidity.

do ya'll realize our ancestors (here in oklahoma) were kicked out of every place else and then stole and cheated their way to land ownership and prosperity? most of us are two to three generations away from very humble beginnings.

we're not that great you know, show some humility and stop being so pretentious.

and you, checkpoint girl, you work in a tourist trap restaurant, you can drop the attitude.

first timers. my husband ordered the filet mignon, cooked medium-swears it was the best steak he has ever had. was like cutting through butter and the flavor was in every bite. i had the native-amber brined chicken and it was delicious the au gratin potatoes were fantastic as well. also, the table favorite was the lobster ravioli. i mean we couldn't get enough of it. when you go, get that and then get some more. the service was great, brought to us by teresa. she did fantastic.

for the view, the price of the food, drinks, and ambiance, this visit was memorable and reasonably priced.

not as good as expensive.. the service was fine, the sight of the great plains from the 49th floor is stunning, but some items in the menu are rather mediocre. i ordered the maine lobster ravioli and regretted it. they were as disgusting as they were expensive. probably one of the worst dishes i have ever tried. however, my filet mignon was really good (not the best i've had though). they do not have bourbon whiskeys, but their scotch and irish whisky selection is ok. their wine menu is fine and varied, but it is not large. if you go to vast, pick very carefully what you are going to eat and keep in mind that you are paying for the sight.

a fine dining experience. me and my wife took my buddy and his wife to celebrate their wedding at the vast. it was three course meals. started with little cheese then bread and main dish. drink wise, we had de loach cab, joel got zinfandel and tropical zizzle (vodka, jalapeno, mango ...).
meal wise, i ordered the night special, strip steak with potato on side and my buddy had seared nori crusted ribeye. my wife and my buddy’s wife had chipotle-agave glazed salmon. everyone enjoyed their food a lot. steak was perfectly cooked and salmon was very nice and jucy.
the view was spectacular. we sat by the window and were able to see the baseball field, ford center, i-35 very clear. the restaurant is on 49th floor of devon tower. it was free parking at the devon garage.
mr. danny was our server. he was very friendly and professional. he gave us a great surprise at the end to bring dessert for us. that made it complete the whole experience. i recommend this place for any special occasion.

nice setting, but very expensive and the food doesn't merit the price. our server became noticably irritated when we only ordered a single course meal and seemed to ignore us the rest of our visit, despite my wife ordering the most expensive thing on the menu (an excellent steak, but the rest of her meal was wholely underwhelming), as well as several drinks, which still came out to over $200. however, from other reviews i've read, the poor service seems to be a common issue. that, coupled with the fact that the entree i ordered was terrible, totally soured our experience at vast. the setting is gorgeous, but that's all you're paying for. we would not return.

most overrated restaurant in okc. 5/15/2013
most pretentious restaurant in okc!
had reservation for 4 this evening. made it thru the first "check point", which is how you get to the elevator to go to the restaurant. upon checking in, i was told we would not be able to eat there because of the shoes i was wearing. i had on black patent leather slides, which they considered to be flip flops. the manager said flip flops were not allowed. according to their website, they request that open toed shoes not be worn. come on ladies, are you really going to wear a closed toed shoe in the summer so you can eat at vast? i was dressed appropriately, i had on white capri and a nice top. the young lady in front of me had on leather thongs with a strap behind the heal. the lady who came in behind me was also wearing sandals. the real kicker was when we were going back thru the first "check point" and the young lady said, "i called the manager to tell him you had on flip flops"! needless to say, we left and went to cattlemen's and had a great steak. bottom line, don't waste your time!

took my wife for a late valentines celebration lunch today. top notch experience...we placed our reservation online and received multiple reminders in the last 72 hrs leading up to the lunch. my only complaint was not knowing there’s a guest parking garage north of the devon tower for vast customers (we parallel parked on a side street and paid the meter); no mention in the reminders or on vast’ website. everything else was amazing...the view (if you’re acrophobic, ask to sit away from the windows 😬); the customer service (noah was awesome as our server); the lunch buffet (salad, sirloin, lamb and much more); even got a tour of the rest of the 49th floor. dress code is business casual - no sandals, t-shirt’s, ball caps. fun experience. even dined next to the former mayor and gubernatorial candidate (cornett) and his family. highly recommend for your next special occasion!

great experience. we read all the bad reviews and decided we wanted to see for ourselves. our waiter (forget his name) was very attentive, professional, and friendly. the view was worth it whether the food had been bad or not, but thankfully the food was delicious. the oxtail soup was amazing as was the steelhead fish. they even offered a dessert to share on the house since we were celebrating an anniversary. all in all a very pleasant dining experience.

don't go for the food.
i was vastly disappointed. perhaps because i had the (??)disadvantage of dining at gordon ramsey steak in las vegas 3 nights before. while i'm aware that one cannot fairly compare the two, it is nonetheless true that vast endeavors to compete in the fine dining market. so there should be similar standards.
the view is magnificent. but then, it's supposed to be, if you hold out for a window table. otherwise, you are simply sitting in a very nicely appointed, overpriced restaurant. i specified a window table on my open table reservation, but that does not matter when you arrive.
we had drinks in the bar while waiting for our window table. not a long wait. the less than quality service that followed was a big issue for me. to whit:
-dinner drinks were not offered for an hour. water spontaneously arrived on the table at the 55 minute mark. i was offered another cocktail, but nothing else. i assume that many diners have jack and coke with their steaks. i finally requested and received an iced tea.
-the wrong salads were served and subsequently returned.
plates and butter were brought for bread, which never came. the waitress asked later if we would like more bread, i told her we had not yet been served any bread. that came a bit later, by a waitress who was apparently new, and could not successfully handle bread tongs.
scallops and salad were good but not remarkable.
my ($62.00) ribeye was undercooked. the center of the steak was so heavily spiced with the pepper that was concentrated there, that it was basically inedible.
in conclusion, average food for a steakhouse, less than average service, greatly overpriced. i would encourage anyone to experience it for yourself (the view is unmatched), but i will not be going back.
a spectacular view and beautifully appointed room does not a restaurant make.

vast okc is an absolutely breath-taking place of fantastic food quality, service, views, cleanliness, and atmosphere.  vast is, in my opinion, an outstanding representative of what a "fine-dining experience" should entail.  if you have not been to vast, please do make the accommodations one special occasion to absorb it all in.  as is the case with many fine dining restaurants, the cost of fine cuisine may not be for the faint of heart (which is why i recommend saving up and it being on a special occasion basis, unless, for whatever impressive reason you have a money tree).  however, with that said, it's very much worth it in my opinion.

after soaring into clouds via elevator, you are immediately greeted by friendly hosts.  reservations are recommended if you are joining them on busy days/nights (holidays, fri & sat nights), but as always, they have bright smiles and escort you to a table.  most times, you have a choice of ordering from their fresh and creative menu, but to achieve the most 'bang for our buck', during lunch hours, we order their "daily table".

the daily table consists of several entrees and accommodating dishes made that day, and is served 'buffet style' with a one-time charge of $22 for each person.  we find this deal absolutely incredible because we get dishes - like our last visit to vast - such as pan fried roasted salmon, baked holiday ham, roasted mushrooms and green beans, and homemade soup.  you can find these entrees - that change on a daily basis - on their website, underneath menus and "the daily table".  the buffet also includes absolutely fresh salads, meat and cheese, bread, desserts, and much more.  every bite was scrumptious, succulent, and well-worth the price!

we've been to vast on several occasions, even on their busy saturday nights with a reservation, but our favorite combination is a lunch anniversary at the 50-story restaurant, with good company, good service, even better food, with a nice clear day above oklahoma city to really take it all in.  highly recommended and sure not to disappoint!
