service needs elevating to match locale. vast could/should be better. i know it's new but there is no excuse at this level (no pun intended) for the glitches we experienced. table not ready for a late sitting reservation in a 2/3rds empty house.foodwas very good but obviously missed that perfect window hitting the table. inexperienced server. was told there was "no butter" after it was obviously just forgotten. sat around waiting for our $40 entrees that obviously had sat around waiting to be served. while thefoodis good enough to go again the service is hurting what they're serving. one time is enough to enjoy the view.

sorry. my wife and i wanted to dine here but after looking at the reviews we didn't.

many of my customers have eaten there. ( i'm a professional limo driver)

my customers say the same, poor service, coldfoodand they tell me to go there for drinks only and close another place to dine.

i'm retired from 35 years in thefoodbusiness
and feedback like this comes from poor management. the only way to change would be out with the old and in with new management.

a fine dining experience. me and my wife took my buddy and his wife to celebrate their wedding at the vast. it was three course meals. started with little cheese then bread and main dish. drink wise, we had de loach cab, joel got zinfandel and tropical zizzle (vodka, jalapeno, mango ...).
meal wise, i ordered the night special, strip steak with potato on side and my buddy had seared nori crusted ribeye. my wife and my buddy’s wife had chipotle-agave glazed salmon. everyone enjoyed theirfooda lot. steak was perfectly cooked and salmon was very nice and jucy.
the view was spectacular. we sat by the window and were able to see the baseball field, ford center, i-35 very clear. the restaurant is on 49th floor of devon tower. it was free parking at the devon garage.
mr. danny was our server. he was very friendly and professional. he gave us a great surprise at the end to bring dessert for us. that made it complete the whole experience. i recommend this place for any special occasion.

nice setting, but very expensive and thefooddoesn't merit the price. our server became noticably irritated when we only ordered a single course meal and seemed to ignore us the rest of our visit, despite my wife ordering the most expensive thing on the menu (an excellent steak, but the rest of her meal was wholely underwhelming), as well as several drinks, which still came out to over $200. however, from other reviews i've read, the poor service seems to be a common issue. that, coupled with the fact that the entree i ordered was terrible, totally soured our experience at vast. the setting is gorgeous, but that's all you're paying for. we would not return.

great experience. we read all the bad reviews and decided we wanted to see for ourselves. our waiter (forget his name) was very attentive, professional, and friendly. the view was worth it whether thefoodhad been bad or not, but thankfully thefoodwas delicious. the oxtail soup was amazing as was the steelhead fish. they even offered a dessert to share on the house since we were celebrating an anniversary. all in all a very pleasant dining experience.

don't go for the food.
i was vastly disappointed. perhaps because i had the (??)disadvantage of dining at gordon ramsey steak in las vegas 3 nights before. while i'm aware that one cannot fairly compare the two, it is nonetheless true that vast endeavors to compete in the fine dining market. so there should be similar standards.
the view is magnificent. but then, it's supposed to be, if you hold out for a window table. otherwise, you are simply sitting in a very nicely appointed, overpriced restaurant. i specified a window table on my open table reservation, but that does not matter when you arrive.
we had drinks in the bar while waiting for our window table. not a long wait. the less than quality service that followed was a big issue for me. to whit:
-dinner drinks were not offered for an hour. water spontaneously arrived on the table at the 55 minute mark. i was offered another cocktail, but nothing else. i assume that many diners have jack and coke with their steaks. i finally requested and received an iced tea.
-the wrong salads were served and subsequently returned.
plates and butter were brought for bread, which never came. the waitress asked later if we would like more bread, i told her we had not yet been served any bread. that came a bit later, by a waitress who was apparently new, and could not successfully handle bread tongs.
scallops and salad were good but not remarkable.
my ($62.00) ribeye was undercooked. the center of the steak was so heavily spiced with the pepper that was concentrated there, that it was basically inedible.
in conclusion, averagefoodfor a steakhouse, less than average service, greatly overpriced. i would encourage anyone to experience it for yourself (the view is unmatched), but i will not be going back.
a spectacular view and beautifully appointed room does not a restaurant make.

vast okc is an absolutely breath-taking place of fantasticfoodquality, service, views, cleanliness, and atmosphere.  vast is, in my opinion, an outstanding representative of what a "fine-dining experience" should entail.  if you have not been to vast, please do make the accommodations one special occasion to absorb it all in.  as is the case with many fine dining restaurants, the cost of fine cuisine may not be for the faint of heart (which is why i recommend saving up and it being on a special occasion basis, unless, for whatever impressive reason you have a money tree).  however, with that said, it's very much worth it in my opinion.

after soaring into clouds via elevator, you are immediately greeted by friendly hosts.  reservations are recommended if you are joining them on busy days/nights (holidays, fri & sat nights), but as always, they have bright smiles and escort you to a table.  most times, you have a choice of ordering from their fresh and creative menu, but to achieve the most 'bang for our buck', during lunch hours, we order their "daily table".

the daily table consists of several entrees and accommodating dishes made that day, and is served 'buffet style' with a one-time charge of $22 for each person.  we find this deal absolutely incredible because we get dishes - like our last visit to vast - such as pan fried roasted salmon, baked holiday ham, roasted mushrooms and green beans, and homemade soup.  you can find these entrees - that change on a daily basis - on their website, underneath menus and "the daily table".  the buffet also includes absolutely fresh salads, meat and cheese, bread, desserts, and much more.  every bite was scrumptious, succulent, and well-worth the price!

we've been to vast on several occasions, even on their busy saturday nights with a reservation, but our favorite combination is a lunch anniversary at the 50-story restaurant, with good company, good service, even better food, with a nice clear day above oklahoma city to really take it all in.  highly recommended and sure not to disappoint!

i expected an over-priced menu and mediocre food. i was wrong...with a little bit of right.vast is not enough. this...is...mass! mass service, view and atmosphere, drink andfoodselection. i'm still beyond myself. i'm still in excitement over my leftovers that are now in my fridge.if you try to come here and eat on a budget, don't. you'd do a disservice to the restaurant, chef and yourself...not to mention those you might bring with you.~expensive? yes. ~worth it? i'm offended you asked!this was our first outing here (9th anniversary). we were immediately shocked at the point we hit the hostess desk as they knew who we were. we were immediately seated on the east side of the building with a stunning view. west side nice? maybe, but we were only partly here for the view.we were treated to a sampler dish of asian inspired beef. super-tasty, but not immediately on our radar. shortly followed were wine and beer orders. advise, this a 5-7 oz. pour, so don't look for an "okie" pour. if you need it, buy a bottle. they have a superb selection of wine and beer list was not bad either. vast suits the needs for both ladies and gents. afterwards was bread....to die for. (see pic)both cc and i thought we had already planned our dinner, but decided on the 3-course -chef's selection (tasting menu). we were not disappointed. this involved a salad, main/entre and dessert. a) "salad" - beets, spinach and goat cheese bouchon with bacon bits. close as i can get. "good job chef....you got me to eat beets unknowingly for the first time in my life."b)  "filet" -medium rare, stacked with a rich radish-infused blue cheese ...again...close as i can get. accompanied with mashed potatoes, asparagus and carrot.c) "coup de grâce" -oh...fu$k me... raspberry chocolate cake. raspberry preserve & anglaise, chocolate ganache...and pumpkin-spiced crunchy stuff.i'm so excited about the leftovers in my fridge.

new to urbanspoon. my wife and i went for our anniversary in 2013. we were very disappointed. we tried to order an appetizer and enjoy our drinks and where told by our waitress that we couldn't. we had to order everything at the same time. name me anywhere else where you cannot enjoy drinks and appetizers before your meal. i cannot stress enough that when i pay such high prices forfoodand drinks i expect to be treated like i am in a high class establishment not a cattle call get me out the door for the next person type of place. i had a coffee crusted ribeye and my wife had a duck dish. both were good but only after we had ordered(which we were rushed to do) did we hear another waitperson give the table next to us the specials for the evening. we were never given the option of a special menu. 200.00 dollars later i left with goodfoodterrible service and a picture that my wife could put on facebook of the chesapeake arena. not impressed at all. for the price i will choose to go to ranch steakhouse. we are always impressed with thefoodand the service is always on point. i never get the specials there but they always give me the option!

thanksgiving at vast. don't do their last reservation! otherwise, thefoodwas good. service would be our only complaint. we felt a little ignored. we would like to try again when the staff doesn't have "a holiday" in their mindset. i would love to be bragging about the food...the stuffing and the corn with onions would be the best for this review. we tried a new wine...beaujolais nouveau...really yummy. that was a good pairing with the meal at $35 for the bottle and $50 a plate for the meal. happy thanksgiving to all!!

my wife and i went to vast for our anniversary. we were apprehensive after reading some of the reviews, but were pleasantly surprised. from start to finish the experience was great. the service from both the host and server was very professional and accommodating. thefoodwas perfectly cooked (we had halibut and a filet special). after dinner, the server had noticed we were celebrating our anniversary and brought us a complimentary dessert which also was very tasty. finally the view from the 49th floor is just beautiful and the restaurant itself is an okc rarity, architecturally speaking. i think the negative reviews are just wrong, maybe reflecting the old management of the restaurant as it has recently changed we found out. you will likely spend over 100 for a couple, but the experience is totally worth it. the plates are not tgi friday sized portions, but they are not supposed to be. it's high qualityfoodpresented in an artful way. we say, go to vast and give them a try!

vastly disappointed. the view is obviously fantastic. however, it's a pitty that the quality of theirfoodis not more customized and consistant for the prices charged. i attended a function consisting of approximately 50 individuals and we all received the same meals of steak and salmon. i heard alot of grumbling about the steaks. they were all over-cooked and dry. upon questioning, i was told that it is very difficult for the chef to cook for large parties as ours and cook steaks to the customers' preference. the result was to burn all of them. the meals are overpriced and the portions are small. they seem to serve you with an air of indifference. if it was not for the view, the restaurant would just be average. i truly would have liked to brag on my dining experience but i felt that their shortcoming needed to be exposed.

second time here and we still love it!. i am quite surprised that this restaurant doesn't have better reviews. we have been twice and had equally great experiences both times. the first time we visited vast, was for our anniversary. the view was great, thefoodwas delicious and our server provided excellent service. you have to be prepared for a very slow meal, but that is the way it is intended to be. there are several courses and all were delicious. i think the price is fair for the type offoodthey serve. the second time we went was for my fiancés birthday dinner. the special that night was filet mignon oscar which most of the table ordered. while my fiance and i's steaks were cooked perfectly, his sister's definitely was over done. the waiter did offer to take it back but she didn't want to wait for another while everyone else is eating. i feel if you are paying that much for a steak, it should be cooked correctly the first time. we would still recommend vast to others and for special occasion dinners. we will be back.
