lunch at vast not so good. we took our our 17 year old grandson to vast hoping to treat him to a fantastic view and a nice dining experience. well, we got the view, but not the nice dining experience. we did get a window table as requested, but we were the only diners in that area, which felt like we were second class citizens. the table was very chipped, the bench fabric was stained and table was next to a serving station. the beef stew soup was adequate; we were not served rolls with soup, they were brought cold well after soup bowl removed. we had to ask for a salt and pepper set, and the one brought to table was dirty, like a bad diner would have. our lunch was adequate not great. my grandson's hamburger was served medium rare when medium well was requested with a very soggy bottom bun. the waiter did take burger off check as we did not want another 15 min wait. we could hear waiter complaining to bar staff about this and heard him say "you should see how they look" and looking at us while speaking. yes, we did leave 20% gratuity as that is polite; too bad these particular vast staff members appear to have no concept of politeness to all customers, not just who they think may be well-heeled. i would like to compliment a very gracious young lady who very nicely showed us the private dining rooms. the olive garden across from penn square had better decor, friendly and efficient wait staff and better food. you don't always get what you pay for and we are cancelingdinnerreservations for upcoming birthday!

awesome!. i really can't believe all of the negative reviews here. my wife and i went recently for our anniversarydinnerand the food was wonderful. the service was outstanding and the views are beautiful. it's not cheap, but i wasn't expecting it to be either. if you are considering this restaurant for any occasion for a nice evening out, you won't be disappointed!

great experience/worth what we paid.. took my daughter, her friend and my wife to vast for a birthdaydinnerfor my daughter. we arrived at 9:30 for our 9:45 reservation. we were asked if we wanted to check our coats, and my daughter checked hers. we were greeted/seated promptly.

my wife had the "leitz out" riesling and i tried something different, the "cardamom hummnigbird."

both were wonderful and my wife ended up getting the hummingbird as well. i had the unabroue trois pistole ale with mydinnerand it was a very good belgian ale.

i ordered the "spicy pickled jumbo shrimp", my daughter and her friend had the "maine lobster ravioli", my wife had the "red oak butter and lettuce" salad. each was outstanding. originally my daughter's friend and i ordered the "sweet potato clam chowder" however after my wife (a very finicky eater) tried the chowder, she ordered it as well. all of us absolutely enjoyed the chowder.

my wife had the "native amber brined chicken breast", my daughter had the "rack of colorado lamb", her friend had the "barbecue glazed pork loin chops" and i had the "ancho chili-coffee rubbed strip steak", the only complaint was that my steak was more medium rare than medium but otherwise was very good. all enjoyed their entrees.

for desert my wife wanted the "fried pie banana foster", and i wanted the "reconstructed apple pie" and my daughter was treated to a chocolate birthday cake/torte. our only complaint was rum raisin ice cream was not very tasty. the pie was great!

sure it was pricey (mid-$300's including tip), but we expected it going in. the weather could have been more cooperative but still enjoyed the lights of bricktown.

while vast will not be a regular place for us it will always be on the list for places to go for special occasions.

we enjoyed thanksgivingdinnerat vast very much. the menu consisted of traditional offerings, but they had attempted to elevate each dish in some way. i had the pork tenderloin which had great flavor and was very tender. the green bean casserole had fried shallots, but not nearly enough of them. my 8 year old has a more adult palate and was very pleased with her turkey with pepper gravy, sweet potatoes, and smoked gouda mac and cheese. the prime rib was a definite stand out. maybe the best we've ever tasted. the lobster and squash soup was to die for! i could eat a whole pot, packed with flavor, but not such that the lobster was lost. i have also been dreaming about the pistachio macarons with raspberry filling. fluffy cookies gleaming of egg whites with a little chew in the center, but crunch on the outside. the lemon cookies with fresh herb glaze frosting were also swoon worthy. well done, pastry chef. service was attentive, but not outstanding. setting, of course, is beautiful. we will return to sample the regular menu. impressed with their first foray into thanksgiving dinner.

mixed.... set your expectations for vast before dining.

start with the name "vast" for a restaurant set atop of the newest, largest corporate structure in okc. great for business lunches anddinnerwith the corporate crowd in the evening.

this is not a kid-friendly place for sure. (no children's menus and they do not adjust plating for kid appetites.) there is security at the street-level entrance to help filter out those that don't have reservations / are just looking as well. nothing warm or fuzzy about vast at all.

food, service and drinks are well above-average. pricing matches that level of quality and service plus a little premium for the view and the accommodations.

my meals at vast have been quite good, but somewhat forgettable. the $19 lunch buffet is more about quality than quantity - providing a handful of options. i do have to say that they make the best creme brulee i have ever tasted. so there's that.

i'll go back to vast when someone else is buying or when a company picks up the bill. not on my dime or my own time. it's great to have vast there as a choice...just that i would likely choose to eat elsewhere given the price-to-value you pay at vast vs other fine alternatives.

my husband and i had been planning to go for months. it was finally the day of our reservation and got all dressed up and headed their way from yukon. unbeknownst to us, there was construction delay and thunder game traffic causing us to be 15 minutes late. i called the restaurant to let them know we were running late due to traffic and were promply told that they will not let us in, that we were to late. it was our 10 year anniversary. thoroughly disappointed, we decided to dine at toby keith's bar & grill. we had a fabulous time!!! fast forward 9 months to present day- i made a reservation for saturday night at 9:30 pm. it is my husbands birthday. we arrived 10 min early and were told rudely that we are to early to be seated so we waited about 5 min and was seated. the waitress did not greet us for 15 min! after finally giving her our drink order we asked for a wine pairing for our entrée. she had no idea what to say except that their wine specialist was on vacation. after waiting an additional 15 min our drinks were finally delivered. my husband had a single barrel jack & sprite and i had a signature cocktail. both were ok. the waitress (teresa) left us alone for an additional 10 min before taking ourdinnerselection. my husband ordered the fillet and i the "special" ny strip. both ordered med.well. 30 min later we finally received our entrée's. his was luke warm and discusting! very well done and dry. the meat tasted old. my steak was phenomenal!! that is until i ate the third bite and saw nothing but blood and raw meat. we already complained about the fillet and right after the manager walked away i discovered the red center of my nystrip. i summonsed the manager to come back and showed him the steak and he quickly removed my plate and removed the entree from the bill. we refused any discounts up until this point. the manager apologized profusely and gave us his card and told us to dine for lunch on him next time. i will probably take my mother inlaw out to lunch because my husband would rather eat at a "real five star" restaurant and pay five star prices then eat at a "three star" restaurant for free. maybe our regular visits to ruth's chris steakhouse has spoiled us. we still haven't found a true 5star steakhouse in okc. we will continue our search. do not waste your time or money going to vast.

vast for the win!. a good friend of mine is visiting from out of the country and i took her to vast this past saturday night for her birthdaydinnerafter catching a show at the civic center music hall. we arrived a bit early for our 5:30pm reservation so we were directed to the lounge for drinks as we waiting for our table to be ready. we didn't even have to wait 5 mins before we were sat and greeted with our very friendly server, teresa. we had a great view and the meal was amazing! we ordered the lobster ravioli to start with and we both had filet mignons which were so incredibly tender that i'm still raving about them! the only less than stellar comments that i have for our experience is that my friend and i both look very young and no one asked us for ids when we ordered our alcoholic drinks, and when our steaks were delivered to the table we were not asked to cut into them to make sure they were cooked properly (as a server myself, i'm required to do this as well to provide excellent customer service). we really had a fantastic time though and will definitely be back, despite the negative reviews on here!

dinner event vast is last. i work for a medical device company and had a co-marketing event last week with a pharmaceutical company on the 49th floor. we rsvp'd for 19 and 24 medical practitioners showed up. i thought that this was a good thing but the manager named andrew curonja refused to make five more dinners. he was rude and didn't offer us anything else to eat and said you can only get what you have rsvp'd.dinnerwas steak and salmon and was average from what the attending doctors said because i was one one the attendees who didn't get to eat. i spoke with two different medical sales reps, and they had the same issues with their event at vast. this place is not service oriented to the customer and the food is average. it is unfortunate because the view is wonderful. i will not go back to this restaurant and will not schedule anydinnerevents again at vast. vast is last.

my husband took me here for our anniversary. i was taken back by the secrecy to get to the restaurant as well as the view. the food was good, but our waiter just about ruined the night. we had a beautiful secluded spot to ourselves. somehow our waited forgot about, didn't receive bread after he said he was bringing it, got ourdinnerfive minutes after our appetizers, and we sat after our meal for a half hour before anyone came to see if we needed anything. the cherry on top was they automatically tack on the tip to your bill without informing you. save your money and havedinnerelsewhere.

go somewhere else. there are better places for fine dining in the city than this place. we were disappointed at how bland the food was. on top of that, the service was terrible. although our meal went smoothly without any problems or conplaints, our waiter - dennis - had an attitude and was simply unprofessional, offensive, and rude. i felt extremely uncomfortable leaving a tip. we will not be coming back. do yourself a favor and don't waste your evening here. we felt deceived by the hype and taken advantage of. i would recommend havingdinnersomewhere else and then coming here for drinks / dessert from their bar if you are interested in the view. but beware. fine dining? lies.

wonderful meal and service. we enjoyed an anniversarydinnerat vast and it was fabulous. service was outstanding and the food was delicious. we were quite pleased with a couple of appetizers that were new to our tastebuds and enjoyed entrees of pork and salmon with very succulent flavors. we highly recommend vast for a special 'night on the town'!

everything was really great. having read so many mixed reviews, i did not have my hopes too high for my first experience at vast. but my wife and i absolutely loved it.
we wre greeted prompty and all people we encountered were gracious and pleasant. we started off with the quail and the duck confit for starters. both were amazing, but the quail stole the show. the quail was perfectly cooked and seasoned, placed over a bed of whipped sweet potatoes with balsalmic. the sweet potato/balsalmic mix was very different and delish! i agree with reviews i have read that the starter portions are almost comically small. they are very much on the small size, but worth the price for someting so unique.
my wife had the sweet potato calm chowder and i the butterleaf salad. each were very different and the chowder was amazing-- truly some of the best soup i've had.

for entrees, wife had the filet and i the pork loin. both were very nice sized portions and considering sides came with the entrees vast is actually less expensive than a place like ranch for thedinnercourse.

we had the dessert special of the evening a choc mousse cake that came with a gelato and fresh berries (it was amazing) along with the petite dessert assortment. the dessert assortment was the one downside to the evening, i did not really care for it. but, my wife liked it okay.

overall the view and experience at vast is worth the money and certainly is placed in the same category as ranch and mahagony in my book for excellent dining experiences in the metro area.

food was okay! not fantastic. the vast food is okay. when you have a wonderful setting it sometimes make guest base the meal of the experience itself. the filet was okay in taste or shall i say expected in taste. the rib eye steaks were enormous in size and had a funny taste, like pot roast. they had a lot of fat on them as well. i didn’t like the taste of the vast steaks.

complements of the chef were a teaspoon of tuna tar tar, it taste like meat jello. i probably couldn’t have stomached if in a larger quantity.

the breads were amazing. especially thedinnerrolls that with cream cheese on the inside. the pizza like flat bread was okay. the tomato stuffed bread reminded me of pizza. but my favorite was the cream cheese rolls.

i am still in shock that the main lobster ravioli appetizer cost $15.00. it was very tasty in flavor, but not for $15.00 , i’m sorry.

the views in this restaurant are breath taking. if you want to impress someone especially at night this is the place for ambiance. someone did suggest to try the vast for lunch because it’s more relaxed and not so formal. also there is a buffet presentation to try various foods at a cheaper price, but still for quality food.

wine , they charge $13 for a 1/4 of glass of mascato. mascato wine is a dessert wine and i think it absurd when places charge $50 or more for mascoto, one of the cheapest wines you can buy at a wine or sprits store.

during this visit i didn’t get a chance to taste any dessert.

i liked this but was it worth $15 hell no. it was more of a sample then to be considered an appetizer!

lovely.dinnerfor my birthday. food was wonderful. i had the smoked butternut squash risotto and hubby had the sweetbreads. presentation was beautiful. main course was lemongrass butter poached shellfish and lobster boursin diver scallops. (who knew you could stuff scallops with lobster meat?) both were delicious. my hubby knew portions would not be large and they weren't, but he did say the food was like a work of art. the fun was trying to decipher all the tastes and ingredients. i also liked the 3 types of breads they delivered. pace of food delivery was good. my only small complaint was that even though all help was attentive i wish our waitress had described the dishes a little more in depth. the four petite deserts were definitely different. we went down the elevator with a pastry chef who was delivering small individual chocolate cakes to another location. after she described them i would like to have tried that. maybe they will be on the menu next time. we will go back.

great experience. we went with a group of 19 for a birthday party. the service was excellent. the wine recommendations were spot-on. the food was fantastic. there were some small issues with our food all coming out at the same time for each course, but it was a group of 19 on a busy saturday night. no one had to wait very long at all. overall it was a fantastic experience.

we went with a smaller group fordinnera month before and the service was spotty and slow. last night's big group experience was a much, much improved experience overall in terms of service and food quality.
the atmosphere and view were stunning.
