we enjoyed thanksgiving dinner at vast very much. the menu consisted of traditional offerings, but they had attempted to elevate each dish in some way. i had the pork tenderloin which hadgreatflavor and was very tender. the green bean casserole had fried shallots, but not nearly enough of them. my 8 year old has a more adult palate and was very pleased with her turkey with pepper gravy, sweet potatoes, and smoked gouda mac and cheese. the prime rib was a definite stand out. maybe the best we've ever tasted. the lobster and squash soup was to die for! i could eat a whole pot, packed with flavor, but not such that the lobster was lost. i have also been dreaming about the pistachio macarons with raspberry filling. fluffy cookies gleaming of egg whites with a little chew in the center, but crunch on the outside. the lemon cookies with fresh herb glaze frosting were also swoon worthy. well done, pastry chef. service was attentive, but not outstanding. setting, of course, is beautiful. we will return to sample the regular menu. impressed with their first foray into thanksgiving dinner.
