nice setting, but very expensive and the food doesn't merit the price. our server became noticably irritated when we only ordered a single course meal and seemed to ignore us the rest of our visit, despite my wife ordering the most expensive thing on the menu (an excellent steak, but the rest of her meal was wholely underwhelming), as well as several drinks, which still came out to over $200. however, from other reviews i've read, the poor service seems to be a common issue. that, coupled with the fact that the entree i ordered was terrible, totally soured ourexperienceat vast. the setting is gorgeous, but that's all you're paying for. we would not return.

don't go for the food.
i was vastly disappointed. perhaps because i had the (??)disadvantage of dining at gordon ramsey steak in las vegas 3 nights before. while i'm aware that one cannot fairly compare the two, it is nonetheless true that vast endeavors to compete in the fine dining market. so there should be similar standards.
the view is magnificent. but then, it's supposed to be, if you hold out for a window table. otherwise, you are simply sitting in a very nicely appointed, overpriced restaurant. i specified a window table on my open table reservation, but that does not matter when you arrive.
we had drinks in the bar while waiting for our window table. not a long wait. the less than quality service that followed was a big issue for me. to whit:
-dinner drinks were not offered for an hour. water spontaneously arrived on the table at the 55 minute mark. i was offered another cocktail, but nothing else. i assume that many diners have jack and coke with their steaks. i finally requested and received an iced tea.
-the wrong salads were served and subsequently returned.
plates and butter were brought for bread, which never came. the waitress asked later if we would like more bread, i told her we had not yet been served any bread. that came a bit later, by a waitress who was apparently new, and could not successfully handle bread tongs.
scallops and salad were good but not remarkable.
my ($62.00) ribeye was undercooked. the center of the steak was so heavily spiced with the pepper that was concentrated there, that it was basically inedible.
in conclusion, average food for a steakhouse, less than average service, greatly overpriced. i would encourage anyone toexperienceit for yourself (the view is unmatched), but i will not be going back.
a spectacular view and beautifully appointed room does not a restaurant make.

great for dessert and cocktails. celebrated my anniversary here with my girlfriend and had a really great time. service was speedy and kind. we nabbed some window seats in the lounge/bar area. the cocktails were fantastic, worth the price. the manhattan and the hummingbird are both great. i would definitely recommend the bananas foster for dessert. one strange thing though: i was contacted 5 different times to confirm my reservation for 9pm. 2 emails, and three phone calls. i think this is a bit excessive. on one call, we were offered an earlier time for our reservation even though i specified in the first four points of contact that we were coming for dessert and drinks. no big deal, just kinda weird. positiveexperienceoverall.

my wife and i went to vast for our anniversary. we were apprehensive after reading some of the reviews, but were pleasantly surprised. from start to finish theexperiencewas great. the service from both the host and server was very professional and accommodating. the food was perfectly cooked (we had halibut and a filet special). after dinner, the server had noticed we were celebrating our anniversary and brought us a complimentary dessert which also was very tasty. finally the view from the 49th floor is just beautiful and the restaurant itself is an okc rarity, architecturally speaking. i think the negative reviews are just wrong, maybe reflecting the old management of the restaurant as it has recently changed we found out. you will likely spend over 100 for a couple, but theexperienceis totally worth it. the plates are not tgi friday sized portions, but they are not supposed to be. it's high quality food presented in an artful way. we say, go to vast and give them a try!

vastly disappointed. the view is obviously fantastic. however, it's a pitty that the quality of their food is not more customized and consistant for the prices charged. i attended a function consisting of approximately 50 individuals and we all received the same meals of steak and salmon. i heard alot of grumbling about the steaks. they were all over-cooked and dry. upon questioning, i was told that it is very difficult for the chef to cook for large parties as ours and cook steaks to the customers' preference. the result was to burn all of them. the meals are overpriced and the portions are small. they seem to serve you with an air of indifference. if it was not for the view, the restaurant would just be average. i truly would have liked to brag on my diningexperiencebut i felt that their shortcoming needed to be exposed.

vegan at vast. after reading a mixed bag of reviews, my husband and i made the leap and chose vast as part of our tenth anniversary celebration. i'm so glad we did!

we called the morning of our anniversary (it fell on a friday) and there were two reservation times available (we felt fortunate that there were any times left because of our procrastination), 5 and 9:15. we opted for 5, and that was another fortunate turn because if a later time would have been available, we would have missed seeing the sunset. an added bonus to ourexperiencewas watching the city transform from day to night.

the service was fantastic. every need was met, and most importantly, our meal was tailored to our vegan diet.

the food:
we started with roasted tofu. everything we had was great, but this ended up being my favorite. ultimately, it was a warm, smoky curry. the flavors were rich and melted together perfectly. the pistachios were a fun surprise, not only in texture, but flavor. i would go back to have this dish over and over again.

we split the roasted beet salad. it was dressed with a light, slightly sweet dressing and roasted beets. this was a simple salad that worked well between a heavier first course and our entrees. halving the salad made it the perfect size for us as part of our meal. i saw some salads come out that looked like they would have sufficed as an entree.

our entrees were the vegetarian menagerie and vegetables en papillote. both were delicious. as far as a favorite, i think the vegetarian menagerie won. there was more variety in flavors and textures, i.e., it was a little more interesting. the marinated portabella was amazing.

i easily gave vast a five-star rating because there's nothing else like it in okc. my one [very minor] complaint was the the host didn't ask if i would like to check my coat (i would have). the food was great, and the fact that there were vegan options every step of the way, minus dessert, was an added bonus. ourexperiencewas a wonderful way to start what ended up being a perfect evening.

vast for the win!. a good friend of mine is visiting from out of the country and i took her to vast this past saturday night for her birthday dinner after catching a show at the civic center music hall. we arrived a bit early for our 5:30pm reservation so we were directed to the lounge for drinks as we waiting for our table to be ready. we didn't even have to wait 5 mins before we were sat and greeted with our very friendly server, teresa. we had a great view and the meal was amazing! we ordered the lobster ravioli to start with and we both had filet mignons which were so incredibly tender that i'm still raving about them! the only less than stellar comments that i have for ourexperienceis that my friend and i both look very young and no one asked us for ids when we ordered our alcoholic drinks, and when our steaks were delivered to the table we were not asked to cut into them to make sure they were cooked properly (as a server myself, i'm required to do this as well to provide excellent customer service). we really had a fantastic time though and will definitely be back, despite the negative reviews on here!

everything was really great. having read so many mixed reviews, i did not have my hopes too high for my firstexperienceat vast. but my wife and i absolutely loved it.
we wre greeted prompty and all people we encountered were gracious and pleasant. we started off with the quail and the duck confit for starters. both were amazing, but the quail stole the show. the quail was perfectly cooked and seasoned, placed over a bed of whipped sweet potatoes with balsalmic. the sweet potato/balsalmic mix was very different and delish! i agree with reviews i have read that the starter portions are almost comically small. they are very much on the small size, but worth the price for someting so unique.
my wife had the sweet potato calm chowder and i the butterleaf salad. each were very different and the chowder was amazing-- truly some of the best soup i've had.

for entrees, wife had the filet and i the pork loin. both were very nice sized portions and considering sides came with the entrees vast is actually less expensive than a place like ranch for the dinner course.

we had the dessert special of the evening a choc mousse cake that came with a gelato and fresh berries (it was amazing) along with the petite dessert assortment. the dessert assortment was the one downside to the evening, i did not really care for it. but, my wife liked it okay.

overall the view andexperienceat vast is worth the money and certainly is placed in the same category as ranch and mahagony in my book for excellent dining experiences in the metro area.

food was okay! not fantastic. the vast food is okay. when you have a wonderful setting it sometimes make guest base the meal of theexperienceitself. the filet was okay in taste or shall i say expected in taste. the rib eye steaks were enormous in size and had a funny taste, like pot roast. they had a lot of fat on them as well. i didn’t like the taste of the vast steaks.

complements of the chef were a teaspoon of tuna tar tar, it taste like meat jello. i probably couldn’t have stomached if in a larger quantity.

the breads were amazing. especially the dinner rolls that with cream cheese on the inside. the pizza like flat bread was okay. the tomato stuffed bread reminded me of pizza. but my favorite was the cream cheese rolls.

i am still in shock that the main lobster ravioli appetizer cost $15.00. it was very tasty in flavor, but not for $15.00 , i’m sorry.

the views in this restaurant are breath taking. if you want to impress someone especially at night this is the place for ambiance. someone did suggest to try the vast for lunch because it’s more relaxed and not so formal. also there is a buffet presentation to try various foods at a cheaper price, but still for quality food.

wine , they charge $13 for a 1/4 of glass of mascato. mascato wine is a dessert wine and i think it absurd when places charge $50 or more for mascoto, one of the cheapest wines you can buy at a wine or sprits store.

during this visit i didn’t get a chance to taste any dessert.

i liked this but was it worth $15 hell no. it was more of a sample then to be considered an appetizer!

great experience. we went with a group of 19 for a birthday party. the service was excellent. the wine recommendations were spot-on. the food was fantastic. there were some small issues with our food all coming out at the same time for each course, but it was a group of 19 on a busy saturday night. no one had to wait very long at all. overall it was a fantastic experience.

we went with a smaller group for dinner a month before and the service was spotty and slow. last night's big groupexperiencewas a much, much improvedexperienceoverall in terms of service and food quality.
the atmosphere and view were stunning.

vast. spectacular view and excellent food. we ate at vast on friday evening as part of our birthday celebrations. you must go for the view andexperienceof seeing okc at this level. vast is definitely a plus for okc and helps us become a "big league" city. the food is very good. the portions are very small and the plates are very big. it's very expensive by okc standards and i think that is why many of the reviews are critical. i suggest you go on line and review the menu before you go. you will need to order an appetizer or salad as not much comes with the entree. you won't be askng for a to go box.

we started with the maine lobster ravioli and squash risotto, and 4 glasses of wine. they were excellent, though very small portions. for the main course our party of 4 had salmon, lobster scallops and i had the rubbed strip steak. all thought the entrees were very good. my steak was actually pretty large by vast standards of portions and excellent. this is a restaurant okc needs. go there once or twice for the view and the experience. was the wait staff any better than a normal upscale restaurant? no. was the food greatest you have ever had? no. was theexperienceone of a kind in okc? yes. be sure to go at least once and hopefully the portions will get a little larger. on a scale of one to 10 it's a 10 for okc.
