two meatballs in the kitchen

well, the wine was good.... dining at two meatballs wasn't an entirely bad experience, after all they do pour a good glass of wine. my girlfriend and i did some searching for a place to enjoy italian food in fort myers, and decided on two meatballs. good reviews, decent menu, wine, can't be bad, right? upon walking in we found the ambiance of a train station and the service of the panhandlers that occupy it. pitiful. since when do independent restaurants try to emulate the look and feel of chains? it's the sort of place someone traveling alone on business would eat due to the proximity to the hotel. i ordered the steak marsala, medium rare. what they served me was an over cooked piece of bad sirloin, a few mushrooms that may or may not have sat in marsala sauce at one point during their life, no sauce to speak of, under cooked potatos, and sauteed vegetables that were stone cold. not warm, or spotty on how hot they all were, but flat out cold. around nine thirty, they began shutting the place down, although the website and the door said they close at eleven. after realizing we were being turfed out (the lights were turned on full strength and the chairs placed up on the tables), we paid the check, and asked the chef whattimethey usually shut their doors. he gave a smug reply of "nine maybe nine thirty" as he stood in front of the eleven o'clock closing sign. clearly our faults. won't go back.

the worst customer service experience ever!! dining with a party of 8, was asked immediately after eating our meal to leave because they had a reservation waiting for the table. notimefor dessert or socializing. is that not why you dine out in a group is to socialize? will never see my money again.

everything was as expected until we were sat at our table. normal waittimeand we were comfortable while we waited on our table. then it was like they forgot we were there. we ordered drinks and then had to wait at least 20 minutes to have our server come back so we could order our food. meanwhile, as i'm looking around for our server i see a young man walking around the restraint like he was lost, he would gaze around the room and look important, i try to flag him over since i figured he must have worked there and all he ended up doing was giving me a blank stare. so after waiting for our server to comeback with our food (which was overcooked) and then asking for our check (which also took an additional 20 min, we left and asked to speak to a manager and were greeted by the young man who appeared lost. he showed very little concern and was also very dry. i would not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy. it wasn't a horrible place it was just annoying and seemed more pike a chore than a relaxing evening with my date.

(if i could give 0 stars for this review, i would.) i am beyond disappointed in my experience at my neighborhood restaurant this evening. after being quoted a 15 minute waittimefor a simple takeout order i still gave it 25 minutes until i picked it up knowing that sometimes these wait times are underestimated. to my surprise and dismay, not only was my food not ready, it took an additional 35 minutes of me waiting in my car after the restaurant quoted the readytimeto go back in and see that it was "ready". except it wasn't. an entire meal was missed by two meatballs pushing our waittimeout another 20 minutes. a 1 hour 15 minute takeout waittimefor 4 meals? obnoxious. a 1 hour 15 minute takeout waittimefor 4 meals and the owner not being accommodating and at the sametimebeing condescending and rude? unacceptable. as a veteran of the service industry i understand that things happen. a lot. but to offer a $25 gift card on an $80 takeout order after the owner was overly aggressive and obscene toward a weekly patron? unreal. quite frankly, it was unbelievable; not only to myself, but also to other customers who overheard the exchange. we will be gifting our $25 credit and taking our business to other more delicious and deserving local restaurants. good riddance.

take out 2 pizzas & meatball app $53.00 what?. ordered 2 specialty pizzas from their website menu, which was outdated and the original one i wanted wasn't available so they substituted and charged me per topping on both the grilled chicken on the pies was so dry you couldn't choke it down, the dough was hard and the meatballs came with garlic knots which were so hard and stale you couldn't eat them. when we questioned them why each pizza was 21.50 a pizza we were told they rang it up at the best price possible, a specialty pizza is only 18.95. them the guy who was ringing up the ticket opens the pizza box and says"this is what you got" as if it was the best pizza in town and then proceeded to tell us he thought we got a great deal on the pizzas. it only too me 15 minutes to get there to pick it up at thetimethey specified the pizzas were also cold. will never go back i suggest everyone avoid that place papa johns is way better, how sad!

great food and great service!. 4 of us had a business lunch there about a week ago. we had all had the food before and always liked it, but 3 of us had never eaten there, just had carry out. we like the atmosphere, the food was great, as always! dee was our server and she took such good care of us.

the times we have done carry out was to serve groups of 15-20. the food is consistently delicious. paul and sal always offer great menu suggestions. we look forward to the nexttimewe can dine in or carry out. great job!

unexpectedly poor. i'm not hard to please, but the meal and the service was well below expectation. first, how do you make bright orange pasta sauce? even the addition of cream wouldn't be sufficient to turn tomato sauce this orange. my chicken marsala had no taste and was over cooked and served with potatoes rather than pasta. i had to practically beg for the pasta which was covered in a yucky brown sauce, supposedly the marsala. waitress never asked if we wanted bread and we had to wait an unreasonable amount oftimebefore she returned with beverages. this was poor quality food, and bad service. never again.

food... "meh." service... "meh.". i ate there yesterday for the firsttimeafter hearing a stellar recommendation. i went to meet a friend, and immediately upon entering, there were about 5 or 6 hostesses (why so many? it was 4:00 pm, there were only a few other diners present) who provided no greeting whatsoever. after i found the friend that i was meeting with, i was never offered a drink besides water, and i waited far too long for my order to be taken. this surprised me, because there were so few other diners in the restaurant, and there was plenty of staff on hand. overall, the food wasn't terrible but it wasn't great either. we were given garlic knots for free, which were hard and stale. i ordered the fried mozzarella squares appetizer, which was served over warm lettuce... just not a good combination. i usually try to contact an establishment via email prior to publicly posting a review, but there was no email contact on the website.

i probably won't be back.

lasagna was cold and not cooked and yet the plate was too hot to touch. terrible service. 1sttimethere will be my last.

our experience. we came towards the end of the night so perhaps we should cut the server some slack. we were seated but were unsure on what to order when approached as it was our firsttimethere. after giving an unsure answer to our question concerning a dinner item, the server asked to step away to check on another table and then disappeared. 30 min. in , we got a little tired of waiting and decided to forgo dinner and just to order the cannolis to go, which had been the main reason we came in. being from chicago, we are always looking for someone who can make them like giordanos. we have seen them done in everything from egg roll wrappers to creme horn pastry. not having a lot of luck down south. a male server, we didn't catch his name unfortunately, finally came over and was nice enough to get us the cannolis to go, even throwing an extra one in, which we thought was nice. he apologized for the wait, and later the waitress came over as well and apologized and brought us the cannolis on the house. it was a very long day for us driving down through the rain from ocala after helping family move so we may have been tired and not as patient as we should have been. we were impressed by the efforts of the staff to make things right and the cannolis were actually very good,( sorry still not as good as giordanos in our opinion- your cream is just a little sweet) but the shells were very good and they were very close, and we would get them again if in town and recommend them to others.

first i have been to the old place as well as the new. the food was ok but since the move downgrade. the service is horrible and the place is dirty. as a fulltimeresident i will never set foot in there again. they get a lot of seasonal business. not sure if the young guys at the host stand are the owners but rude would some them up.

they must be meatballs!. we went to tmitk when it was at their first location a year ago. it was admittedly very good. thistimeit was all bad. the place was dirty and stale. my bolognese sauce was unlike any i have ever had, devoid of meat and tasteless. my wife's chicken was mediocre. i would never give this place another try.

never have i ever had such great service with the worst food in the world. secondtimethat i have visited and won't go back for a third. i complained to the young man who appeared to be the manager, all i can say about him was that he dressed appropriate for the role. i told him my food was cold and he literally shrugged!! i think the only one with brains in that place was my server was great. amanda or ashley, i can't remember. to the manager who didn't know what he was doing, thank you for making my decision of never coming back so easy.

a happy meatball lover !!!. i have been here 3 times now the food is always in good proportions,flavorful,and well priced the service has been good for us eachtime...there are tons of servers becouse it's useually crowded and they move quickly i do like this place and recommend it !!! i was a little suprised buy negative reviews but everyone blows it fromtimetotimei guess and i personnely think that many people compare this place to much more expensive italian restaurants good food.good price,good service

always great!. today was about the 5thtimei've done a large carry out order to cater a luncheon for clients. every singletimethe food has been wonderful. sal and alex always help make great suggestions w/ selecting the menu. when i pick it up i always know i don't even have to check anything. i've never had a mistake or anything left out as far as utensils, food or any details. i have had large chains forget serving utensils and it's not fun. my clients always want to know where the food came from and can't wait to go there themselves. i have never had the pizza, but several of my clients also had pizza catered for a class and they said it's wonderful! the food and the service has always exceeded my expectations and been a big hit with my clients. will be using them for the same purpose in september and hopefully, actually eating there with friends very soon!
