well, the wine was good.... dining at twomeatballswasn't an entirely bad experience, after all they do pour a good glass of wine. my girlfriend and i did some searching for a place to enjoy italian food in fort myers, and decided on two meatballs. good reviews, decent menu, wine, can't be bad, right? upon walking in we found the ambiance of a train station and the service of the panhandlers that occupy it. pitiful. since when do independent restaurants try to emulate the look and feel of chains? it's the sort of place someone traveling alone on business would eat due to the proximity to the hotel. i ordered the steak marsala, medium rare. what they served me was an over cooked piece of bad sirloin, a few mushrooms that may or may not have sat in marsala sauce at one point during their life, no sauce to speak of, under cooked potatos, and sauteed vegetables that were stone cold. not warm, or spotty on how hot they all were, but flat out cold. around nine thirty, they began shutting the place down, although the website and the door said they close at eleven. after realizing we were being turfed out (the lights were turned on full strength and the chairs placed up on the tables), we paid the check, and asked the chef what time they usually shut their doors. he gave a smug reply of "nine maybe nine thirty" as he stood in front of the eleven o'clock closing sign. clearly our faults. won't go back.

we were seated quickly around noon for lunch. my son liked themeatballsand my pasta was ok. my husband ordered spaghetti and said the sauce tasted like it was out of a can. i thought the same thing when i tasted the garlic rolls with the sauce. service was fine.

twomeatballsin the kitchen, salrose ln.,ft. myers,fl., here is my 2 cents on the food and chit chat.
the food.i order 2 items. one to dine in, meatball & spaghetti and a italian sub with soup to go.
i got the classic meatballs/spaghetti. it was the way my mother made spaghetti. the sauce was soaked into the pasta . that was delish..... i must say i was disappointed. i was expecting 2,two,meatballsin my pasta instead just 1 big one, almost the size of a grapefruit. it tasted fine and i needed to take half of it home. alas the name is twomeatballsin the kitchen.
the sub and soup. 8 bucks...the soup was a italian kind. i thought it was a bit bland. it was thick, round pasta, tomato and other veggies. ....the sub was sub par too. too small, less than 4 inches , diced tomatos, not a lot of meat and the bread was wimpy. it was not a good italian bun.
service  was great.
food overall was good. but i waited 5 years to be blown away. i was just puffed like a 5 yo at a birthday party.

(if i could give 0 stars for this review, i would.) i am beyond disappointed in my experience at my neighborhood restaurant this evening. after being quoted a 15 minute wait time for a simple takeout order i still gave it 25 minutes until i picked it up knowing that sometimes these wait times are underestimated. to my surprise and dismay, not only was my food not ready, it took an additional 35 minutes of me waiting in my car after the restaurant quoted the ready time to go back in and see that it was "ready". except it wasn't. an entire meal was missed by twomeatballspushing our wait time out another 20 minutes. a 1 hour 15 minute takeout wait time for 4 meals? obnoxious. a 1 hour 15 minute takeout wait time for 4 meals and the owner not being accommodating and at the same time being condescending and rude? unacceptable. as a veteran of the service industry i understand that things happen. a lot. but to offer a $25 gift card on an $80 takeout order after the owner was overly aggressive and obscene toward a weekly patron? unreal. quite frankly, it was unbelievable; not only to myself, but also to other customers who overheard the exchange. we will be gifting our $25 credit and taking our business to other more delicious and deserving local restaurants. good riddance.

twomeatballsin the kitchen is an italian-themed restaurant in fort myers, fl . i had heard from my dining companion that day that they had a good happy hour. crowds are a promising sign, and there certainly was one in both the restaurant and bar area.

take out 2 pizzas & meatball app $53.00 what?. ordered 2 specialty pizzas from their website menu, which was outdated and the original one i wanted wasn't available so they substituted and charged me per topping on both the grilled chicken on the pies was so dry you couldn't choke it down, the dough was hard and themeatballscame with garlic knots which were so hard and stale you couldn't eat them. when we questioned them why each pizza was 21.50 a pizza we were told they rang it up at the best price possible, a specialty pizza is only 18.95. them the guy who was ringing up the ticket opens the pizza box and says"this is what you got" as if it was the best pizza in town and then proceeded to tell us he thought we got a great deal on the pizzas. it only too me 15 minutes to get there to pick it up at the time they specified the pizzas were also cold. will never go back i suggest everyone avoid that place papa johns is way better, how sad!

horrible meatballs. i order.... horrible meatballs.
i ordered the spaghetti and got two meatballs. because this was twomeatballsin the kitchen i assumed, my mistake, that themeatballswere something that was original to this restaurant.
themeatballstasted like they were more sawdust than hamburger. i ordered two extrameatballsfor a possible leftover lunch.
i choked down one of themeatballsbut threw out the other three.
a restaurant like twomeatballsin the kitchen should not lower it's standards by using inferior products.

2meatballs= 1 great night out. we haven't been back to twomeatballssince they moved to this location but i can promise you that we will be back soon. the four of us all had different dishes and all were very happy with their meals. the service was great and we all had enough in portion size that we left full and still took food home, not that we use that as a measure of weather the food is good.
we will be going back and it will be soon.

horrible. claims to be authentic italian cuisine. if this is italian i'll eat my shoe. the only redeaming quality for this restaurant was the waitress, the decor, the cleanliness, and the wine. their pick of the house pinot grigio is excellent and our waitress was excellent. the food is horrible, the tomato sauce came out of a campbell's soup can and the lasagna was so bad that they hid it in a huge glob of mozzarella cheese (i mean it melted to about a half inch thick and spread to about 10 inches wide) and then put so much sauce over that that i wasn't sure what was under it. the house salad dressing tasted like oil with too much french's mustard mixed together. the pasta fagiole soup had to have been, again, campbell's tomato soup mixed with a can of baked beans and then threw in some carrots and ditalini pasta to make it look authentic. themeatballsin the mama's pasta tasted like the frozenmeatballsin the bag at costco. i can't believe anyone with true italian heritage would consider this slop food. don't waste your time, money or gas on this place.

saw all the reviews and thought. we have read many reviews of this up and coming fun little restaurant unfortunately the magic and enthusiasm from the early days of opening may have worn off. we dined late on saturday night 7/02. the restaurant was winding down maybe one third occupied. the menu looked good from a variety of items we tried two items the pizza salad and a chicken with mushroom and pea alfredo. the pizza arrived about 25 minutes after ordering along wiht the pasta dish. the pizza crust was crisp and well served with a pesto base. the chicken dish was a little bland chicken was just chunky and unseasoned and the mushrooms were cut so thick they were still raw inside not cooked through. the service time was attentive at first then was lost through the remainder of our dinner. we arrived and were seated by 840 pm and finally were given attention for our check and leftover boxes by 945. considering we came in for a quick bite to try after being in orlando all day it was anything but. sorry twomeatballsbut our adventure ended up with a no return in sight planned. hope you can get back to what everyone was writing about when i first heard of your establishment.

back one year later. we found this place one year ago and thought it was a hidden gem and could not wait to go back this year. it appears that we were not the only people to find this place. they obviously had such a following that they moved next door into a building that was at least three times the size of the old place, unfortunately this move, as far as we are concerned, may be their undoing. the new place is so noisy that we could not carry on a normal conversation. the most important aspect however is that they lost all the ambiance the old place had. our meals were not as good as we remembered but i'm wondering if our disappointment in the new place shaded our thinking.

if you are a newcomer and had never been to the old place give it a try, if you have been to the old place i'm afraid you may be disappointed.

we were looking for a great italian "joint", nothing fancy and we sure found it. twomeatballsinthe kitchen fits the bill. we walked in and the joint was jumping and were we pleasantly surprised to find real italian dishes. give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

whaaaaat?. we tried twomeatballsafter noticing the neon sign from daniels; therefore, we had no preconceived ideas as to the nature of the place. my entree was quite good but my wife's was mediocre. our waitress was inattentive and the room was cold and extremely noisy.
the problem with my wife's "special" was that the ravioli was undercooked and doughy, the mushrooms came from a can, the artichokes from a jar and the fish was tasteless - hardly the makings of a "special" dish. add to this the very unpleasant, noisy atmosphere (i believe osha would make them do something about it to protect the employees' hearing) and you can see why we would never go back.
