two meatballs in the kitchen

well, the wine was good.... dining at two meatballs wasn't an entirely bad experience, after all they do pour a good glass of wine. my girlfriend and i did some searching for a place to enjoy italian food in fort myers, and decided on two meatballs. good reviews, decent menu, wine, can't be bad, right? upon walking in we found the ambiance of a train station and theserviceof the panhandlers that occupy it. pitiful. since when do independent restaurants try to emulate the look and feel of chains? it's the sort of place someone traveling alone on business would eat due to the proximity to the hotel. i ordered the steak marsala, medium rare. what they served me was an over cooked piece of bad sirloin, a few mushrooms that may or may not have sat in marsala sauce at one point during their life, no sauce to speak of, under cooked potatos, and sauteed vegetables that were stone cold. not warm, or spotty on how hot they all were, but flat out cold. around nine thirty, they began shutting the place down, although the website and the door said they close at eleven. after realizing we were being turfed out (the lights were turned on full strength and the chairs placed up on the tables), we paid the check, and asked the chef what time they usually shut their doors. he gave a smug reply of "nine maybe nine thirty" as he stood in front of the eleven o'clock closing sign. clearly our faults. won't go back.

the worst customerserviceexperience ever!! dining with a party of 8, was asked immediately after eating our meal to leave because they had a reservation waiting for the table. no time for dessert or socializing. is that not why you dine out in a group is to socialize? will never see my money again.

we were seated quickly around noon for lunch. my son liked the meatballs and my pasta was ok. my husband ordered spaghetti and said the sauce tasted like it was out of a can. i thought the same thing when i tasted the garlic rolls with the sauce.servicewas fine.

food is good butserviceis about the worst i have had. very noisy in the dining room. we have been there at none busy hours and enjoyed very much but don't go at peak hours.

(if i could give 0 stars for this review, i would.) i am beyond disappointed in my experience at my neighborhood restaurant this evening. after being quoted a 15 minute wait time for a simple takeout order i still gave it 25 minutes until i picked it up knowing that sometimes these wait times are underestimated. to my surprise and dismay, not only was my food not ready, it took an additional 35 minutes of me waiting in my car after the restaurant quoted the ready time to go back in and see that it was "ready". except it wasn't. an entire meal was missed by two meatballs pushing our wait time out another 20 minutes. a 1 hour 15 minute takeout wait time for 4 meals? obnoxious. a 1 hour 15 minute takeout wait time for 4 meals and the owner not being accommodating and at the same time being condescending and rude? unacceptable. as a veteran of theserviceindustry i understand that things happen. a lot. but to offer a $25 gift card on an $80 takeout order after the owner was overly aggressive and obscene toward a weekly patron? unreal. quite frankly, it was unbelievable; not only to myself, but also to other customers who overheard the exchange. we will be gifting our $25 credit and taking our business to other more delicious and deserving local restaurants. good riddance.

mama’s pasta. absolutely delicious

terrible service. my boyfriend loves this place, he brought my daughter and i here for dinner one night and earned us that theservicewas terrible but the food is always worth it. so going into the restaurant i expected bad service, but i was not prepared to eat under cooked fish. i ordered the tilapia mia bella, the presentation was sloppy, the fish was raw, and the waitress couldn't have cared less. she did not check on us once, avoided my repeated attempts to get her attention, and when she brought the bill she promptly fled before i could say anything to her. our bill was over $100. i called the restaurant the next day hoping the owner would care to know about the complaint for future improvement, but he was just as rude as the waitress. i would not recommend this place to anyone.

repeat diner 4 or 5 times. food andservicealways great. drinks too. appetizers, seafood, pasta very good. busy place but good staff keeps things humming. can't understand how anyone had bad food or service.

2 meatballs = 1 great night out. we haven't been back to two meatballs since they moved to this location but i can promise you that we will be back soon. the four of us all had different dishes and all were very happy with their meals. theservicewas great and we all had enough in portion size that we left full and still took food home, not that we use that as a measure of weather the food is good.
we will be going back and it will be soon.

unexpectedly poor. i'm not hard to please, but the meal and theservicewas well below expectation. first, how do you make bright orange pasta sauce? even the addition of cream wouldn't be sufficient to turn tomato sauce this orange. my chicken marsala had no taste and was over cooked and served with potatoes rather than pasta. i had to practically beg for the pasta which was covered in a yucky brown sauce, supposedly the marsala. waitress never asked if we wanted bread and we had to wait an unreasonable amount of time before she returned with beverages. this was poor quality food, and bad service. never again.

i had lunch here with my family. the garlic knots were great, the meatballs, were excellent, i really enjoyed the pizza, and theservicewas great. no complaints whatsoever.

hats off to staff!. since home once more, have had the pleasure to dine in at least 5 x's, every experience has been better than the last...servers r friendly/attentive, food is never a disappointment, also, a welcome gesture to locals, they have been offering a great 2 for $20 menu during off-season weekdays, which includes a choice of appetizer~so happy to know we have a great place to dine, that's close by, when we r home.

still as good as i remember.... while home, as usual for me, i go in for the mussels in grandma's lemon butter sauce w/a wonderfully prepared salad & very yummy parmesan garlic rolls...nothing to complain abt except for the soap opera on the tv by the bar...i asked them to change it & they did. i do have to defend the young servers, i have had wonderfulservicefrom some. in the past, i have noticed some slackness, but overall it doesn't deter me & will return when back home next month! young people r still learning and that means we have to be a little patient and maybe they'll take a hint from the size of their tip or read these reviews.

not as good as we had hoped :-(. we had heard that this was a great italian place with reasonable prices, so we thought we would give it a try. the place was crowded and very loud!!! i believe they were playing music, but could not hear it over all the noise. very poor acoustics. nice place if you are with a group, but not so nice if you are looking for a quiet, romantic place where you can talk.servicewas fair.
disappointed in the food.....rolls were warm and very garlicy and the calzone was so loaded with cheese that it was disgustingly cheesy. i know that sounds strange, but it just wasn't for us. my husband got the lasagna and although it was a large portion, it really wasn't that good. don't think we'll go back there :-(

first i have been to the old place as well as the new. the food was ok but since the move downgrade. theserviceis horrible and the place is dirty. as a full time resident i will never set foot in there again. they get a lot of seasonal business. not sure if the young guys at the host stand are the owners but rude would some them up.

new favorite dish. i ate at two meatballs on saturday. i had gina's favorite chicken. let me tell you, it's now my favorite chicken. two chicken breasts served on a bed of lemon butter farfalle and topped with goat cheese. it was legen....dary! i will definitely be back many more times.servicewas great atmosphere was great too! such a great place to eat. oh and another thing-- when looking at the prices i was a little worried, but good lord are their portions huge. i had my leftovers for dinner and i'm stuffed!
