wonderful!. we had been to the old place several times and found the food great. so being creatures of habit, we returned to the new place and loved it! the food was most delicious and the owner, sal, was attentive to all his customers and to the service they were getting. they have only been opened a little over a month and are working hard to straighten out the kinks that appear when one goes from a small restaurant to a large one.
some people are upset about the noise level, but they are working on that and don't worry, it will be corrected. both my husband and myself highly recommend this restaurant and do try their meatballs!

back one year later. we found this place one year ago and thought it was a hidden gem and could not wait to go back this year. it appears that we were not the only people to find this place. they obviously had such a following that they moved next door into a building that was at least three times the size of the old place, unfortunately this move, as far as we are concerned, may be their undoing. the new place is so noisy that we could not carry on a normal conversation. the most important aspect however is that they lost all the ambiance the old place had. our meals were not as good as we remembered but i'm wondering if our disappointment in the new place shaded our thinking.

if you are a newcomer and had never been to the old place give it a try, if you have been to the old place i'm afraid you may be disappointed.

we were looking for a great italian "joint", nothing fancy and we sure found it. two meatballs inthe kitchen fits the bill. we walked in and the joint was jumping and were we pleasantly surprised to find real italian dishes. give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

whaaaaat?. we tried two meatballs after noticing the neon sign from daniels; therefore, we had no preconceived ideas as to the nature of the place. my entree was quite good but my wife's was mediocre. our waitress was inattentive and the room was cold and extremely noisy.
the problem with my wife's "special" was that the ravioli was undercooked and doughy, the mushrooms came from a can, the artichokes from a jar and the fish was tasteless - hardly the makings of a "special" dish. add to this the very unpleasant, noisy atmosphere (i believe osha would make them do something about it to protect the employees' hearing) and you can see why we would never go back.

great. i went to "two meatballs in the kitchen" the other night with some friends, it was great, the people that work there, the service and the food was very very good. i would definitely recomend this place for anybody that loves italian food. i have been at the old two meatballs, but since they moved to the bigger place it's even better, they did a very good job. plus now they have a bar ;), and even with a bigger place they still manage to have waits.

gina from chicago!!!!!. omg, just got back from the restaurant and let me tell you i would never go back! ragu can sauce is better than what they call italian sauce. it was orange like tomato soup..... we waited for ever to get our food finding out the people next to us new the owners and got there food way before we did and we were at the restaurant first! my husbands calzone was black!!!! burnt!!!! i can actually say the was the worst sauce i have ever had on pasta!!!!!! they are greeks who own it and very bad attitudes when we told them in a nice way we did not like there sauce...... it sucked to tell the truth!

a fmy treasure. pssst...are you looking for somewhere to go when we have the snowbird invasion?
***they've moved***they took over the old java moon - so much easier to find now*** off of daniels at apaloosa (just west of fiddlesticks). the food was really good, the service was quick and friendly, the portions were enough that at our next visit we will share an appetizer, entree and salad. and the desert, well just leave back some food for tomorrow and eat the cannoli cake.

good luck finding it.. this was a good restaurant but nothing that blew me away. it does have a very good local feel to the restaurant and the staff does display great hospitality but the food is good at best. very reasonable wine prices and menu prices. the location is not the best for a restauant so i know they are hoping for 'word of mouth.' give this place a try but don't set your expectations too high.

love it!. love finding little places like this!
threw my husband in the car, telling him we were going for "real italian". it's tucked in off of daniel's parkway..
it was between lunch & dinner, so we were able to have a booth. i originally wanted to order a pizza, from the rave reviews here, but hubby decided he wanted chic parm. ( he never goes for anything imaginative.. he isn't a "foodie") now, you either get chic parm right, or it's awful. two's chic parm is perfect. the tomato sauce is so fresh, none of that bland canned stuff, this is the real deal. but wait.. i am getting ahead of myself.
after being seated, the waitress was prompt, took our drink order and brought fresh rolls. real rolls, homemade, with evoo and herbs. good stuff!
we had a minute to look around, and the decor is an interesting mix of class & funky artsy italian. loved the copper pressed ceilings. the manager? maybe owner kept fussing witht he blinds and the dimmer switches though.. he's a bit bubbly to say the least.
we ordered.. hubby the chic parm, and i had the tilapia, with an add on of soup. now, i've had many many pasta fagioli's in my lifetime, and this bowl was spot on great!
it was a full bowl for one thing, the vege/noodle/bean ratio was correct, and the thick broth delicious! a very good beginning!
next up was entree's... like i said, his was good. the chicken was thick , and the breading not overpowering. ample cheese under the sauce, as it should be!
my tilapia was two huge portions, breaded a bit too thick for my taste, but the lemon sauce was good! (will ask for a bit more sauce next time) it came with fingerling potatoes, that were flash deep fried. creamy, yes.
also a side of mixed vege's: carrot zuch squash. the carrot was a bit hard. but, the fish made up for it. thick, perfectly cooked, yum!
we were too full for dessert or coffee.. but on the way put, niticed the place next door ;full of balony! stopped in there, and how nice, desserts to go! italian cake, cannolli's, fruit tarts. i'll have to get back to you on how those are.. i'm still too full to eat them. but, they look good sitting on my kitchen counter.
the place has a great deli selection of meats & cheeses, and other italian stuff. the staff was fun. ( and cute too!)
all in all we spent $40 on dinner $8 for tip.. then $8.90 for 2 desserts next door and 1 expresso candy to eat in the car.
a lovely little dinner, in a tiny out of the way place... but trust me, go! call your wife from work.. meet her there.. have a date night. you'll both be pleased.
