great atmosphere, food isn't anything special. the use of cornmeal instead of flour is authentic, but not especially good. fgt bruschetta needed more sauce. shrimp in the shrimp and grits tasted pretty much like mustard, and the 'grits' were made for people that don't like grits - ie, polenta cakes fried into wedges like corn bread. i prefer my grits creamy and cheesy. nice spot, very charming, service wasn't great and odd laws regarding alcohol sales (not their fault).

had the elkton salad with shrimp. was told the shrimp were 'swimming yesterday'...not exactly. the shrimp tasted like they had been cooked from frozen. not terrible but not 'swimming yesterday'. the rest of the salad was just weird. so many flavors going on...sweet potatoes on the salad were cold, the red cabbage had a tangy dressing on it, the corn salsa (mexican flavor), the onions were cold, served with a spicy ranch dressing. just way too many flavors going on. maybe i ordered the wrong thing.

fantastic food and cocktails. many vegan options, if that is your thing. dinner for two with cocktails, apps and desserts was $110. worth every penny.

love it!. the food here is amazing, and there is something for everyone. the brownies are a must! the service is great but there is usually a little bit of a wait before you are seated if you don't call ahead. you cannot reserve a table though so i would just recommend calling in an hour or so ahead! other than that it is an amazing restaurant...

the floridan came highly recommended by several locals including a waitress at another restaurant. this down home restaurant serves up healthy southern comfort food that’s regionally-authentic and full of southern charm. they have many vegetarian options plus are happy to substitute tempeh or tofu for many of the meat dishes. you’ll see the option for tempeh or tofu clearly marked as an option on the menu. their menus change with the seasons, so you ‘re always guaranteed the freshest local ingredients. we tried the tofu n’dumplings made with sweet potatoes and served with cornbread. we also ordered the spicy melt sandwich which comes with blackened tofu, datil-chipotle mayo, roasted bell peppers, tomato and fresh spinach on whole wheat bread. both were very good, but we’ve been dreaming of the and can’t wait to go back for some more.

the best in st. augustine. this is one of the best restaurants in n.e. florida. the food is all from local sources, which makes a huge difference in taste and quality. i also love how they support local businesses, even attending food charity events in jacksonville. the decor is adorable. i had the minorcan datil-bbq sandwich with tempeh which was delicious.

the food was great but very expensive. my wife likes more plain food and i like unique food. it might not be the right place for a plain eater

definitely worth trying. my wife & i chose this place because we found that they had gluten free options and with her having celiac disease - can't eat wheat items - this was very important. after arriving, we found most of their entree's can be made gluten free and their staff seemed to be very knowledgeable about their gluten free items which we were very thrilled to find out. we shared an order of grit cakes, which was a pretty decent appetizer being gluten free and all, followed by our entrees of a pork chop, which i had, and the zucchini linguine which my wife had. i did feel that the prices here were a little more than what they should have been by a dollar or two but we were very pleased with our food and the overall experience. for anyone looking for a restaurant with decent gluten free options, i would definitely add this place to the list.

in love.... we walked in here because it was on the street where we were staying. the place is charming, the service was great (i think our waitresses name was morgan, she made us feel right at home.) the atmosphere is very laid back, no one is rushing you. the menu has something for everyone, i had the tofu floridian and my husband had the meatloaf sandwich and we both loved the dishes. this is by far my favorite place i have eaten in st. augustine. will definitely be back!

i’m from utah, so i was excited to be eating outside in january. the sausage and shrimp pilau was fantastic! it’s a little more than this app advertises with “$25 for two” it was about 33 just for dinner and one drink, so i’d recommend expecting $50 for two. the staff was fantastic, and so friendly. every single one of them. from the hostess to the server, leticia. i would highly recommend this place.
