for our main dish, we split two entrees. first we tried the spicy melt sandwich. blackened fish of the day (in our case it was mahi mahi), roasted red peppers, spinach, tomato, cheese and chipotle mayo served on whole wheat bread. it was delightful.

the floridian has amazing food. it reminds me of the grit in athens, ga. my boyfriend and i enjoyed a casual, romantic dinner with fgt bruschetta and the spicy melt. the atmosphere was pleasant and intimate, and next time i'm in st. augustine, i'll go back.

good place for lunch. the menu selection is quite small, however the descriptions can be overwhelming. at first we thought it may be too hip for our tastes. i have to say the shrimp po boy was the best i have ever had.. hands down. this place also has sweet tea that is better than any you have ever had. will definitely go back!

delicious food and comfortable surroundings. try the waffles with bbq or shrimp and grits. the sauce for fried pickles was delectable. eclectic interior gives it a casual charm.

one of the best meals of my life! every morsel was exactly as good as the last. soup, appetizer, entree, sides & desserts were all amazing. i do not say that lightly. it was totally worth the wait to be seated. do not skip the sour cream apple pie. amazing!

...a golden summer scallop ceviche. it had nice bits of corn and some mango for sweetness and it was served with chips for sipping. it was a nice start.

cool. really good shrimp and gritz, good service, good surroundings, one negative the tofu served to my date had gone bad. it must have been expired or something it tasted like sour milk. other than that all good

unique. we liked it except that the one diner in our group did not get cheese on her melt and she said the bread was a bit dry. the fish burritos and the burger were fine the county line bar is a nice touch. it's just outside the 150 foot limit for alcohol sales from the nearby church. i went and paid for and delivered our beers and glass of wine within a few feet of our table. we'll definitely be back. excellent service.

this place is creative and the atmosphere is fun. the meal was delicious and adventurous. my wife and i met a friend and had a really nice time. we had a long wait and missed our plans for after, but it ended up being very enjoyable anyway! the wahoo! special was delicious blackened. we can't wait to go back.

a little too casual. we did not eat at the floridian because we observed some unacceptable kitchen practices while we were waiting for an inside table to become available on sunday afternoon. we sat on a bench that afforded us a view of the kitchen and we saw some things that made us decide to leave and eat elsewhere. i was really disappointed because i had wanted to eat there for so long.

...this year we all decided to head down to st augustine to celebrate yesterday.
of course, i suggested our new favorite little place to stay called the edgewater inn. (the view from here is where the photo for the home page of my blog comes from.)
we got there around 2:30 and spent the afternoon sipping cocktails on the deck.

excellent food. service was great. got the 'n grits with the fresh catch that was good. wife had sausage and shrimp dish that was fabulous. it was raining and there are only a few indoor tables, so there was a little wait. but the hostess was very nice and helpful, even calling us when our table was close to being ready. overall very nice experience and food.
