great atmosphere, food isn't anything special. the use of cornmeal instead of flour is authentic, but not especially good. fgt bruschetta needed more sauce. shrimp in the shrimp and grits tasted pretty much like mustard, and the 'grits' were made for people that don't like grits - ie, polenta cakes fried into wedges like corn bread. i prefer my grits creamy and cheesy. nice spot, very charming,servicewasn't great and odd laws regarding alcohol sales (not their fault).

beefy burger out of this world. florida sunshine salad with fresh catch excellent.servicegenuine and laid back. coffe fantastic. get the picture place is awesome.

love it!. the food here is amazing, and there is something for everyone. the brownies are a must! theserviceis great but there is usually a little bit of a wait before you are seated if you don't call ahead. you cannot reserve a table though so i would just recommend calling in an hour or so ahead! other than that it is an amazing restaurant...

in love.... we walked in here because it was on the street where we were staying. the place is charming, theservicewas great (i think our waitresses name was morgan, she made us feel right at home.) the atmosphere is very laid back, no one is rushing you. the menu has something for everyone, i had the tofu floridian and my husband had the meatloaf sandwich and we both loved the dishes. this is by far my favorite place i have eaten in st. augustine. will definitely be back!

my sister and i visited the floridian on saturday, 3/16. we were quoted an hour wait since we had no reservation, but we waited about twenty minutes. the hostesses were extremely friendly and hospitable.

we were seated in the very nice upstairs dining room at a table suitable for six (there were only two of us).servicewas a little strange, but efficient.

we ordered company’s coming as a starter (pictured) which was really lovely. sister had o.j. (“interesting” and “very sweet”) and i had lemonade — the flavor of the day was pineapple orange (it was amazing). i ordered the meat and potatoes (also pictured) and my sister had the steak frites. food was excellent - my steak was a little rare for my taste (ordered medium, it came medium rare) but extremely well seasoned and so beautifully tender i could cut it with my fork.

i would come again for sure. the best meal i’ve had in st. augustine by far.

if you are ever in saint augustine, do yourself a favor and come here. the restaurant has nice decor and the patio is very welcoming. we had he griddle cakes which were good, but the meat and potatoes really stole the show. i have never had such a flavorful and delicious meat and potatoes dish, it had seasonal veggies and shrimp also, and i have never had such deicious garlic mashed potatoes anywhere. the shrimp and sausage rice dish was also good, the local sausage was super yummy. theservicewas outstanding and the portions were also large. the key lime cheesecake was good, nothing too special. and the southern gentleman whisky drink was also incredible. i highly recommend this place to anybody looking for a good dinner.

great food in st augustine. good service, inventive food, great flavor combos that pleased both vegan and meat eater alike. we were in a party of 6. long wait for the table but once seated theservicewas great even though the restaurant was packed. really nice menu had something for everyone at the table; not an easy thing with the group we were with. it is notable that everyone at the table which included two locals were first timers and they all agreed it was their favorite restaurant in the area... and it was a great value to boot!

big disappointment based on reviews i read. theservicewas good but the food was average.

vegans and indian/hindu vegetarians beware!! we got excited seeing this was rated vegan on yelp thinking this may be vegan heaven. alas, not so!!! not only is it not vegan heaven, it seemed like we were being a pain by asking our waitress about potential substitutions.servicewas meh too, and got progressively worse. only reason we stayed was we had walked forever to get to this place, and kids were famished and cranky.

misleading label calling this place great for vegans.

absolutely fantastic! the shrimp n grits are definitely unique but they are delicious. we had greatserviceand a decent bottle of wine with dinner! we will most definitely be back.. maybe even during this trip.

would not go back. yes, it's true. the desserts are sitting right there on the hostess counter uncovered and well within reach of any visitors to handle and breathe upon.

the food...mediocre at best. i had the kitchen sink cobb which should have been submitted to the insinkerator (aka garbage disposal). artfully placed across the top were severely charred strips of fat they called bacon, and the deviled eggs would have insulted satan. my husband had the shrimp & sausage pilau. the server said pilau was like jambalaya...not. spicy rice with 1 shrimp & 1 bite of sausage.

greatservicealways makes me feel better about a poor meal experience. unfortunately this was not the case here. don't misunderstand, she was nice and got our orders right, but there was zero follow up. once the food was delivered she was mia.

and let's not ignore the noise! bare floors and ceilings with concrete block walls make for a loud din.

very nice.. great menu, daily specials, nice patio and bar. this was my first visit and i was very impressed. terrificservicetoo. i met a couple that had dinner there the night before and they were back for lunch raving about the food.

i had the fried green tomato hoagie with sausage, it was excellent. also the potato soup, all five star dishes. where this place falls short is that it ain't no bargain. lol 20 bucks for a sandwich, a cup of soup, and tea is a little on the outrageous side.

what a great find. so many great options. i had the shrimp and sausage pilau and fried green tomato brushetta. my wife and i split a bottle of wine. because they are across the street from a church apparently they can't provide tableservicefor alcohol. you have to go to their bar and order it yourself....ok not a problem. this i can do. great bar by the way.
