vegetarian delight!. i sat outside under lush tropical trees and enjoyed the florida sunshine salad. what a delicious combination of tastes--blackened tempeh atop a beautiful array of spinach and local lettuce, strawberries, roasted sweet potato squares, toasted pecans, blue cheese, and pickled beets. really too lovely to eat! i didn't think i could possibly eat the whole salad, but i did and felt wonderfully healthy afterwards. i also love the floridian's commitment to supporting local farmers. the restaurant is on the fringe of the spanish quarter on cordova street across from flagler college--worth venturing off the beaten tourist path. closed on tuesdays. a must if you are in st. augustine!

a wonderful surprise! what an unusual, light and utterly inspired menu. we all ( kids included ) loved it. i had the floridian version of shrimp and grits and i can honestly say it was a revelation. i can't imagine how it could have been better. try the outside patio. wow!

what a great find. so many great options. i had the shrimp and sausage pilau and fried green tomato brushetta. my wife and i split a bottle of wine. because they are across the street from a church apparently they can't provide table service for alcohol. you have to go to their bar and order it yourself....ok not a problem. this i can do. great bar by the way.

the floridian is my fave. i've loved the floridian since being introduced to the amazing food there this past winter. each time i come to st. augustine, i look forward to the wonderful, fresh, and delicious offerings. recently, genie and jeff helped ensure that a 60th birthday party for my partner was a memorable occasion for family and friends. this restaurant captures the flavor and vibe of st. augustine and shouldn't be missed. i'm already looking forward to my next trip back!

my wife and i just left the floridian and were blown away by the food. started off with fried green tomatoe bruschetta and fried pickles. the bruschetta was completely different than what we were expecting but so great. fried green tomato on top of french bread with spinach and basil with some sort of balsamic dressing. unbelievable. and the fried pickles with butter milk herb dressing fried with cornmeal batter. sweet bo peep! i had the burger with provolone which was local fresh meat and provolone with a fantastic roll. one of the absolute best burgers i have ever had hands down. wife had the adult mac and cheese which is a mashed cauliflower with barley with fresh sausage. she absolutely loved it and so did i as i kept reaching for bites. then we finished up with pecan pie and sour cream apple pie. this was the absolute best meal we have had here while we have visited st. augustine. we have tried the raintree, bistro de leon ( which was great also!) as well as a few smaller places. the floridian is hands down our favorite. we can't wait to go again tomorrow night.

what a great find! this small, unassuming cafe between the old city and flagler college is an overall great dining experience. the menu features primarily locally-sourced ingredients and includes lots of florida seafood. everything is prepared in-house and served by knowledgable and attentive staff. we are so glad we found the floridian and we will certainly be back again. it is a refreshing change from the normal mediocre tourist fare.

being a vegan, i am grateful for restaurants that have flexible menu options like this one. the winter salad, which i ordered with grilled tofu and without cheese, was amazing. the cashew and nutritional yeast really tied the salad togwther

the sausage is smokey & has a medium spice. it's sliced on the side of lightly mashed cauliflower with barley. set in a creamy sauce. good, but not cheesy. not sure why they gave it this name as it is in no way like mac & cheese. small portion as well.

never had chance to try. waited 2 hours for table. hostess ignored us and then acted agrivated when we inquired. don't go with a party larger than 4- there aren't many tables. i'd like to try out but courtesy is more important than good food. when you're popular it's easy to get snotty.

we were visiting from out of town for a wedding and wanted to find a local restaurant for our last night's dinner, and ran across this amazing and hip place! i ordered a spicy melt, and it was, hands down, one of the best sandwiches i've ever had. the staff are overwhelmingly friendly, and they keep a stock microbrew beers in the back; 80% of these beers are brewed in-state! if i visit this town again, this will be the first place i visit!!
