way over priced!!! tacos are not even that great and are the tiniest taco's in the world! should be called tacos babies ortacobites and nibbles. sad, lets of people with money don't care though. so they, like many other below average restaurants stay in business. the while culinary experience in charleston suffers because of such price verses quantity and quality abuse.

quality has gone down.... what happened?

i always thought all of yourtacoprices were a little high, but now the quality has gone down too. i used to love your tuna tacos... but you jacked up the price.

i've been arguing with all of my friends that you were still good. i convinced them to go, and i was wrong.

even the service was terrible this time. i don't blame my server though, she had tables scattered everywhere.... obvious management screw up, not server screw up.

the food has always been better from your folly beach location, but it was just plain terrible downtown this time.

i hope i can convince my friends to give you another shot at your folly location, but its going to be a hard sell.

looks aren't the only good thing.... a lot of places put more into the ambience of the building and not as much in the food. at first glance, you might think the same oftacoboy. the artwork, lighting, attention to details are very impressive. but what's most impressive is the food! to describe it in one word...freshness. everything you order has a fresh, simple way about it. you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. excellent food, service, and price maketacoboy a great way to spend a meal in charleston.

i've been to thetacoboy on folly beach a few times so i expected great things from this one but i was very disappointed! i ordered some guacamole which surprised me, it was very good! by my entree, simple chicken nachos took 30 mins to come out and when they did it was clear they had been sitting out. maybe they were finished before the rest of my tables food but nachos are just just not something that can sit out. overall service was okay. the patio is super cute and the ambiance i would give a 4!

my family had my birthday lunch here today. the food was great! we loved the fresh guacamole! i had the shrimptacoplato with cowboy beans and their rice. plenty of food and everything was fresh and tasty! service was friendly and attentive. i love the decor! colored glass windows, all different kinds of chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. outdoor and indoor seating. great experience!

its charleston people!. four dollars pertacois a little steep, but this is charleston. on the other hand the atmosphere is great and the service is even better. i had two tacos carne asada and one americano, and enjoyed them a lot. your not going to get a true mexican streettacoattacoboy, but you will have a very tasty meal.

great staff and decor. let me preface this with. ..i'm from texas, and we love our tex-mex. i'm in town for work and looking for a goodtacoand great margarita. i loved the decor and my waitresses was great, but the food and drink were so-so and it was all overpriced. why is it out side of tx/ok are you charged for chips and salsa? 2 tacos, a small house margarita and the salsa sampler ended up 26 dollars.

the last two times totacoboy have been disappointing. the margaritas that used to be very good are watered done and some of our food was not completely cooked. this used to be one of our favorites but there has been a noticeable change recently!

shrimp tacos. love the sauteed shrimp tacos in lettuce wraps, and the patio is perfect in spring. nachos make a perfect meal, and the tres leches cake is the best dessert in charleston.

love love love. i lovetacoboy! my favorite is the grilled shrimp taco, but the best deal is the nachos-- huge plate of food! had the portobello quesadilla the other night, and it was amazing! the pineapple infused margaritas and the frozen screwdrivers are great. the patio is a great place to gather with friends.

tres leches cake is a must. althoughtacoboy is often "dinged" for having very small tacos (very small), share the nachos appetizer between two to four people, plus one or two tacos per person. that is more than enough food, and the nachos with the homemade cowboy beans and lots of cheese more than make up for the small size of the tacos. i usually switch the corntacofor flour, which is available upon request. highly recommend the grilled shrimp taco, but have never had a bad one. then end the meal with the most luscious tres leches cake ever. i'm a chocaholic, and the tres leches cake attacoboy is my favorite cake in the world, despite not having any chocolate! have never seen anyone dislike it, and most people moan in satisfaction when they taste it. fun atmosphere and high energy. great patio with fire pits for winter, and large roll-up windows for pleasant spring days. great place to take a fun group of friends.

happy place. i commonly say thattacoboy is my happy place and for good reason. the atmosphere is welcoming, fun and takes you to a whimsical foodie paradise. service can be slow during peek times but i often do not mind as the vibe is relaxed and i tend to stay for long periods of time anyway. this is not only a favorite for my friends and i but it is also a wonderful spot to bring out of town guests for a delicious meal and a certified good time!

i don’t know why, but i’ve been on a serioustacokick lately. i’ve been craving them like crazy. so as such, i’ve tried pretty much everytacoplace in charleston. my favorite, by far, istacoboy downtown. not only are their tacos spectacular, the atmosphere is really freaking cool. the inside is all mismatched and looks like someone just put together a restaurant by stealing furniture from all of their neighbors. they also have an awesome patio that is what i see in my dreams when i think of the coolest possible patio there is. if you don’t like tacos, you should definitely come hang out just for the ambience. i also love their mismatched light fixtures and chandeliers. it’s just really cool. i don’t know why i love restaurants with mismatched furniture so much. to start, we usually get the appetizer trio consisting of salsa, queso, and guacamole (market price). their guac is killer. it’s so good. if you don’t want a whole trio appetizer, i definitely recommend getting the guac. unl

definitely worth a visit. while visiting my wife's sisters in charleston, we hit up thetacoboy. the building is awesome and the weather was uncharacteristically nice so we sat in the outside patio area. despite the server spilling a couple of glasses of water on my sister-in-law, the meal was very good. i was put off at first that they don't serve hardtacoshells but my soft tacos were excellent. the beer chalices and serving plates were so awesome that i was tempted to snatch up a few but didn't as i'm a law abiding citizen. check this place out if you're in the area.

amazing food.... while on our last trip to charleston, heard several recommendations from friends for this place. glad we went. food is absolutely amazing, and i love that you can order anytacoin a lettuce wrap (as well as corn and flour tortillas). one of those places you can really eat til you're feeling sick! and then it's still worth it. will definitely return.

i don't think i agree with the one dollar sign meaning that the entree price is really higher than $10. example atacosalad with any meat is $11. most of the menu is al a carte which means once you pick yourtacoand side you will likely be above $10. family of four cost me $60, it's the most expensive mexican place i know. food for the most part is good (we like everything but the rice). service is good and judging by how many people were there they don't need to lower their prices because the place was packed. they have good atmosphere and the bar is very cool. great outdoor and indoor seating.
