food=nasty, service=awful, margaritas are the only good thing about it. the staff is truly awful!

overpriced/bad service. my date and i spent nearly 90 dollars on 4 tacos a salad and 5 drinks with tip. the money wouldn't have been as big of a deal if the service hadn't been so terrible. we asked for silverware 3 times and finally got some when i got up from the table and engaged a hostess for some. the atmosphere is fun and the decor cool and hip, but the value just isn't there when you take into consideration bang for your buck.

way over priced!!! tacos are not even that great and are the tiniest taco's in the world! should be called tacos babies or taco bites and nibbles. sad, lets of people with money don't care though. so they, like many other below average restaurants stay in business. the while culinary experience in charleston suffers because of such price verses quantity and quality abuse.

quality has gone down.... what happened?

i always thought all of your taco prices were a little high, but now the quality has gone down too. i used to love your tuna tacos... but you jacked up the price.

i've been arguing with all of my friends that you were still good. i convinced them to go, and i was wrong.

even the service was terrible this time. i don't blame my server though, she had tables scattered everywhere.... obvious management screw up, not server screw up.

the food has always been better from your folly beach location, but it was just plain terrible downtown this time.

i hope i can convince my friends to give you another shot at your folly location, but its going to be a hard sell.

45 min wait. went for lunch. was seated right away. ordered tacos, drinks, and chips. got our drinks and chips. 45 min later we where still waiting for our tacos. checked with the waitress 4 or 5 times and got the same answer that they where busy. then she said that she would pay for our meal, out of her pay, and would just charge for the drinks and chips. 10 min later, no tacos. this is bs, i’m not lettering her pay for a problem in the kitchen. i left cash for the tip and bill, then and we left.
while sitting there waiting, we counted flies and tried to swat a few. amazed ourselves over how wait staff and hostess walked around spilled food on the floor and steps. well, i guess this is just part of the ambiance and helps pass the time.

yum!. great guacamole! the 3 sauces are amazing and i have a different taco every time. i haven't had a bad meal yet! i love the frozen screwdrivers!!!

looks aren't the only good thing.... a lot of places put more into the ambience of the building and not as much in the food. at first glance, you might think the same of taco boy. the artwork, lighting, attention to details are very impressive. but what's most impressive is the food! to describe it in one word...freshness. everything you order has a fresh, simple way about it. you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. excellent food, service, and price make taco boy a great way to spend a meal in charleston.

great place, pretty good food, drinks are okay but service is always good. been here many times, street corn is amazing, i also really like the fried chicken taco. closes at 10 not 11 though, please fix it in the app, it’s broken my heart trying to go there after work too many times lol

i've been to the taco boy on folly beach a few times so i expected great things from this one but i was very disappointed! i ordered some guacamole which surprised me, it was very good! by my entree, simple chicken nachos took 30 mins to come out and when they did it was clear they had been sitting out. maybe they were finished before the rest of my tables food but nachos are just just not something that can sit out. overall service was okay. the patio is super cute and the ambiance i would give a 4!

my family had my birthday lunch here today. the food was great! we loved the fresh guacamole! i had the shrimp taco plato with cowboy beans and their rice. plenty of food and everything was fresh and tasty! service was friendly and attentive. i love the decor! colored glass windows, all different kinds of chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. outdoor and indoor seating. great experience!

it's mediocre at best. authentic? not by far. appetizers and a drink would be the only thing enjoyable. tacos a big thumbs down. overpriced and not even flavorful.

its charleston people!. four dollars per taco is a little steep, but this is charleston. on the other hand the atmosphere is great and the service is even better. i had two tacos carne asada and one americano, and enjoyed them a lot. your not going to get a true mexican street taco at taco boy, but you will have a very tasty meal.
