quality has gone down.... what happened?

i always thought all of your taco prices were a little high, but now the quality has gone down too. i used to love your tuna tacos... but you jacked up the price.

i've been arguing with all of my friends that you were still good. i convinced them to go, and i was wrong.

even the service was terrible this time. i don't blame my server though, she had tables scattered everywhere.... obvious management screw up, not server screw up.

thefoodhas always been better from your folly beach location, but it was just plain terrible downtown this time.

i hope i can convince my friends to give you another shot at your folly location, but its going to be a hard sell.

45 min wait. went for lunch. was seated right away. ordered tacos, drinks, and chips. got our drinks and chips. 45 min later we where still waiting for our tacos. checked with the waitress 4 or 5 times and got the same answer that they where busy. then she said that she would pay for our meal, out of her pay, and would just charge for the drinks and chips. 10 min later, no tacos. this is bs, i’m not lettering her pay for a problem in the kitchen. i left cash for the tip and bill, then and we left.
while sitting there waiting, we counted flies and tried to swat a few. amazed ourselves over how wait staff and hostess walked around spilledfoodon the floor and steps. well, i guess this is just part of the ambiance and helps pass the time.

i've been to the taco boy on folly beach a few times so i expected great things from this one but i was very disappointed! i ordered some guacamole which surprised me, it was very good! by my entree, simple chicken nachos took 30 mins to come out and when they did it was clear they had been sitting out. maybe they were finished before the rest of my tablesfoodbut nachos are just just not something that can sit out. overall service was okay. the patio is super cute and the ambiance i would give a 4!

my family had my birthday lunch here today. thefoodwas great! we loved the fresh guacamole! i had the shrimp taco plato with cowboy beans and their rice. plenty offoodand everything was fresh and tasty! service was friendly and attentive. i love the decor! colored glass windows, all different kinds of chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. outdoor and indoor seating. great experience!

great staff and decor. let me preface this with. ..i'm from texas, and we love our tex-mex. i'm in town for work and looking for a good taco and great margarita. i loved the decor and my waitresses was great, but thefoodand drink were so-so and it was all overpriced. why is it out side of tx/ok are you charged for chips and salsa? 2 tacos, a small house margarita and the salsa sampler ended up 26 dollars.

we had quesadillas and they were delicious, especially the guacamole, but it was a small amount offoodthat was very overpriced. two small portioned meals and one drink each was $40, and we left hungry.

the last two times to taco boy have been disappointing. the margaritas that used to be very good are watered done and some of ourfoodwas not completely cooked. this used to be one of our favorites but there has been a noticeable change recently!

used to be a fan, not any more. management was rude last visit andfooddeclining. over priced for the experience. my family did not find it child friendly.

amazing food.... while on our last trip to charleston, heard several recommendations from friends for this place. glad we went.foodis absolutely amazing, and i love that you can order any taco in a lettuce wrap (as well as corn and flour tortillas). one of those places you can really eat til you're feeling sick! and then it's still worth it. will definitely return.

i don't think i agree with the one dollar sign meaning that the entree price is really higher than $10. example a taco salad with any meat is $11. most of the menu is al a carte which means once you pick your taco and side you will likely be above $10. family of four cost me $60, it's the most expensive mexican place i know.foodfor the most part is good (we like everything but the rice). service is good and judging by how many people were there they don't need to lower their prices because the place was packed. they have good atmosphere and the bar is very cool. great outdoor and indoor seating.

very active & fresh. taco boy was a lot of fun! thefoodand atmosphere were fresh, the drinks were cold and kept flowing. gets busy during happy hour, so plan ahead. very loud. love taco boy.

more atmosphere than quality food. thefoodisn't bad, but it's not spectacular. the atmosphere, however, is fun and lively. it's a nice place to hang out.

neat looking place to go. neat looking with all of the kitschie stuff all over the place but thefoodis overpriced and not very good. forty bucks for four tacos, guacamole and 2 liquor drinks. if thefoodwas good, no problem, but it wasn't so problem.
