overpriced/bad service. my date and i spent nearly 90 dollars on 4 tacos a salad and 5 drinks with tip. the money wouldn't have been as big of a deal if the service hadn't been so terrible. we asked for silverware 3 times and finally got some when i got up from the table and engaged a hostess for some. the atmosphere isfunand the decor cool and hip, but the value just isn't there when you take into consideration bang for your buck.

shrimp tacos. love the sauteed shrimp tacos in lettuce wraps, and the patio is perfect in spring. nachos make a perfect meal, and the tres leches cake is the best dessert in charleston.

love love love. i love taco boy! my favorite is the grilled shrimp taco, but the best deal is the nachos-- huge plate of food! had the portobello quesadilla the other night, and it was amazing! the pineapple infused margaritas and the frozen screwdrivers are great. the patio is a great place to gather with friends.

tres leches cake is a must. although taco boy is often "dinged" for having very small tacos (very small), share the nachos appetizer between two to four people, plus one or two tacos per person. that is more than enough food, and the nachos with the homemade cowboy beans and lots of cheese more than make up for the small size of the tacos. i usually switch the corn taco for flour, which is available upon request. highly recommend the grilled shrimp taco, but have never had a bad one. then end the meal with the most luscious tres leches cake ever. i'm a chocaholic, and the tres leches cake at taco boy is my favorite cake in the world, despite not having any chocolate! have never seen anyone dislike it, and most people moan in satisfaction when they taste it.funatmosphere and high energy. great patio with fire pits for winter, and large roll-up windows for pleasant spring days. great place to take afungroup of friends.

happy place. i commonly say that taco boy is my happy place and for good reason. the atmosphere is welcoming, funand takes you to a whimsical foodie paradise. service can be slow during peek times but i often do not mind as the vibe is relaxed and i tend to stay for long periods of time anyway. this is not only a favorite for my friends and i but it is also a wonderful spot to bring out of town guests for a delicious meal and a certified good time!

entertaining....funand eclectic atmosphere. service varies from time to time. the food is simple and fresh and i enjoy it for its lack of complexity. the guacamole i would murder someone over, and their chips are done well also! price point is a little much for what your getting, but we all have to make money somehow. bartenders there are instant comrades. please spray for mosquitoes mr. boy!

good value, great atmosphere. this is afunrestaurant with a great atmosphere. the menu is fairly simple...which i see as a positive. the guac, salsa and queso were all very good. the taco's are moderately priced at $3.95 a piece (you'll want to get at least two) but i found them to be dry and would recommend that you ask for extra sauce (which they will charge you 25 cents for, but its worth it).

the margaritas were good (they weren't the neon green kind) but i think they are skimping on the pours...and when i am paying $9 for a margarita thats not ok.

overall, the restaurant really works and i look forward to trying it again.
