stella's dromana hotel

i have been coming here a few years before covid and really missed it during lockdown. happy to bebackto enjoy a meal.

ahhh stellas , a dromana icon....maybe 20years ago , wandered over from the beach for a cold one with my mate phil from woori yallock and ended up getting the quinella on race 2...decided to celebrate by shouting ole mate a steak dinner....the fillets were rougher than ***s , chips soggy the only saving grace was the mushroom sauce , thick and gravy like with an abundance of mushrooms! can’t rave enough about the service i must admit , staff are absolutely fantastic and will gobackjust for them and a cold one ....you can repaint it every year if you like but fix ur menu first

one of the best mushroom pasta dishes that i have had for quite a while. the pub was very busy at this time of the year but our group managed to find a seat in thebackroom.

well this place not only ticked the box for us because it had a play area to entertain the children, but it was affordable and yummy! not having to swallow your over sized pieces of food, in order to get the food down quicker, while your kids were breaking glasses and spilling drinks out of sheer boredom was a great start for us. they played while we ordered, first entree then mains and deserts. every meal that came out was pub size portions but fresh and delicious. we had crumbed calamari to share for entree, mains were chicken parmigiana's while the kids had sausages and chips and the other lasagna and chips. the kids deserts were only $3 each so we couldn't deny them that. everything was just lovely and definitely what i love about a pub meal. the ambience was just cosy and warm. we will definitely gobackin summer.

it's staggering to me that this place has "very good" rating on zomato. below average pub food and below average service. went to the pub section once. seafood tough, not greeted, had to ask where to sit despite reservation. made the mistake of thinking via veneto was a separate place and camebacka second time new years eve to find it's all part of the same establishment. practically empty (not surprising) apart from some stray violent bogans. not recommended.

a great hotel. been here a few times and find it serves good food, we have always left happy. the specials change quite often so it's worth asking. we tend to sit in thebackroom with the glass roof but the front bar is also a good option.

ordered food. waited 45 minutes before finally asking for food and they'd "lost the order" offered moneybackbut still disappointing.

worst restraunt i have ever been to. no greeting when we walked in. found our own table without help or acknowledgement from staff. couldn't find menus so read off the board as we lined up for ten minutes to order and pay. single chef was dragging his feet and looked bored in kitchen. watched him smell a tub of prawns and put thembackunder the bench. waited almost an hour for 4 meals. would have walked out but we had already paid. place was only 3/4 full and staff couldn't keep up. who doesn't put extra staff on over public holidays?
staff run off feet so not friendly.
friends cutlery was even bent out if shape. meals came and were cold- chips and chicken room temperature. carbonara the worst i've had, didn't even finish and felt sick afterwards. turned other customers away as we were eating. disgusting!! never ever written a bad review in my life either!

great food. went on good friday wasn't very busy which was nice.
staff were very pleasant and the food was good and tasty.
prices were very good for food and wine.
will gobackagain.

terrible service. waited forever for our food, when we asked how it was going the staff were extremely rude... food eventually came and it was pretty ordinary, won't be goingbackhere in a hurry...

pretty good. i was a little concerned coming here due to the mixed reviews on urban spoon. glad we made the choice to eat here. we ordered a couple of the special parma's they had one the board, they were great! very tasty great portions , chicken was nice wasn't dry, chips and salad was good too. would comebackfor a feed again.

took my son & sister her over the long weekend we ate in the front section on the friday night and everything was lovely steak cooked perfectly, parma was lovely & roast of the day was beautiful. as we were all happy decided to gobackon the sunday and were told only the bistro was open meaning you pay between $3 & $6 more for the same meals, same service & same chefs confused much. i had a rack of lamb that i couldn't eat as it was so under cooked i'm surprised it didn't run off the plate, let alone after recieving my meal being told they had ran out of mint jelly and when i asked for some gravy instead i thought the waitress had gone to buy and make it herself all round my meal was not ediable. however for the $30 i payed for my meal they were kind enough to shout me a $5 mars bar cake dessert that i think had been in the fridge way past the use by date. my son still enjoyed his steak and was kind enough to share it with me. my sister had the seafood platter that we think someone forgot to put the scallops on and the crab & bug were frozen then defrosted extremly dissappointed and when in dromana next would opt to eat at the drive in before returning here. food 1/10 service 1/10 beverage range 2/10 save your money.
