had an amazing night at the rrbc! it was very busy but the service was still great and attentive. ordered the fish and chips, which thankfully i shared with a friend - the portion was huge! everyone enjoyed their meal and next time i am in slc, i'll be back!!

red rock might be one of the most under rated breweries in utah. this beer showcases their talents. instead of using hops, they use dandelions, which is what paardebloem means in belgian. the result was a nice belgian style ale with a peachy nose that packed a punch at 9.2% abv. i'm pretty sure this is sold out, but red rock just released the reve, which is a bottle-conditioned belgian trippel aged one year on french oak and inoculated with brettanomyces. oh, and it packs a wallop at 10.3% abv. my own complaint is that the brewery is lacking in vegan options so i can't eat there often and sample their beers. the good thing is that sage's recently changed their beer menu to feature locally brewed beers from wasatch's finest from epic, squatters, red rock and unita. as if you needed another reason to eat pizza and beer.

we went on a saturday at lunchtime and it took approx. 15 for the server to ask us if we'd like any kind of drink. the food was quickly produced, but the staff kicked my chair repeatedly and it took both of us getting up for the server to check on us again and get us our check. the food was overpriced and the vegetarian sandwich that was supposed to be made with evoo was dripping with butter. also the fried green tomatoes tasted like they had been made from a frozen stock. they were actually gross. i wouldn't waste my money there again.

love the slc location. been to this place several times. it has been a place a small group of us are visiting once per week for some after work beers and grub. the beer is insane and the food is hit and miss. some dishes are very good while some fail. i wish there were more diverse offerings on the appetizers. it would also be great to see more darker beer offerings (stout or porter). some of my favortie beers are the amber ale, hibernian, and elephino?(ipa). the atmosphere is great and usually picks up quickly after 6:00. parking is above average for downtown and they also offer valet which is very nice. the service is all over the place. about every 3rd time we visit we are stuck with someone that makes us question why we come back.

oh, red rock. this restaurant is a toss up for me. consistently they have some of the worst/rudest service you will find in salt lake. they almost go out of their way to be rude, it seems. on the plus side, for pub fare, their offerings are much better than the what one would expect; even so, they typically don't justify the price. the beer is good, nothing life changing. this a decent place to eat, with a few adjustments it could be great. these adjustments will likely not be made however, seeing as that this is a staple in town. could be better, could be worse.

must like beer. sat down @ the bar. told jason that i hated regular beer (bud, coors, etc.). he looked @ me like i just said something bad about his mother. when i asked him for a suggestion he got all moody & pissy!!! then, when he delivered my food, he still had an attitude. my suggestion? either love every beer made on this planet or go to squatters - se of there. the customer service is better there, def!!!!

i have always loved going to red rock! food is really good and service has always been great.....that is the evening service. went there with family of four on 2/12 around 4pm & service was awful! i was so embarrassed as i had told our friends how wonderful it had always been for us in the past! we had always ate there at least 3 times a month for dinner. our server was rude and clearly he did not want to be there! too bad...we are always great tippers :(

plenty of choices. red rock is one of those places i've come to depend on when i'm out with a large group of friends. the menu has practically something for everyone and i've yet to try something i haven't liked. the beer is good too. best of all, there's rarely a wait.

excellent downtown slc choice. we dined at rrbc for lunch, enjoying the roasted tomato bruschetta with walnut-encrusted goat cheese as our starter. it as a 10, which for the traditional brewery type of restaurant is saying something. have had a similar appetizer in tonier places and found myself less impressed. go, red rock.

i chose the wild mushroom polenta for my entree and was quite pleased. again, who'da thunk in a brewery? my husband's plate of fish and chips was also nicely done, although pretty typical of what you'd expect in a brewery.

friends of ours had dined there the day before (we were all in town for a convention) and spoke highly of the restaurant. we would echo their praise and say it's one of the better all-around choices for fare in downtown slc if you're looking for something that's not a chain, yet reliable. the service was terrific, btw.

there are some things on the menu (e.g., steak sandwich, certain pastas, fish and chips, etc.) that i really like. while there are some things that are down-right not good. could have gone either way on my voting, but the reality is, i stick to what i know to be good at this joint and it works out just fine.

unsure how to rate this place. first off, the beer was fantastic. i was very pleased with both selections that i chose. however, the pizza was nothing to write home about. a simple brick oven pizza that would have simply been ok if there hadn't been chicken on it. however, they seemed to find a way to make the chicken that was on there as dry and bland as possible. the chicken completely ruined the food and i left about half of it to be returned.

part two, my wife then ordered a steak med well, which came out very well and dry, plus it was covered in a huge pile of onion straws to hide it's burnt appearance, i spent 6 years running a restaurant and would be embarassed to serve crap like this. it's better for a chef to through incorrectly prepared food or rotten food out, than try and slip it by their customers. it costs more in the long run with lost sales, i will be sure to tell my friends.....i wish my experience was better, guess it's on to squatters hoppers or the bohemian next time!
