red rock brewing company

good beer, average food. red rock is a nice place to end a ski day. a professionalbeertasting friend told me she prefers squatters but i have always found the red rockbeerto be good. the food is typical brew pub food, filling and good enough but not great. however there are some highlights, e.g. the tuna sandwich served in a pita like wrapper (a recent special).

good beer, good food, good times!!. in the endless battle over best brew pub behind the zion curtain i've long been a squatters' brew pub advocate. over time i've begun to hone my palate toward a menu of mid level sophisticated food without the air of pretentiousness.

red rock is a solid bet. from their oatmeal stout to the simple splendor of the red rock burger, all the way to mimosa's and egg's in purgatory for a sunday brunch you wont find a better brew pub in salt lake.

visiting red rock is like stepping through a portal from salt lake to seattle. a great brew pub with a solid menu and abeerline up few could match. a trip to the covered patio to enjoy to evening air, or a large party filling the rear of the restaurant with a view of the brewing process red rock is a great experience.

overall great! had the portabella burger that was to die for. eliphinobeerwas great, bottled so a little pricey but i've noticed that's per usual here in utah. from portland, or so i'm a food/beer snob. both were excellent and the server was great!!

stop for a drink and some appetizers mid afternoon after shopping. great atmosphere, out door seating. waiter suggested a greatbeerand the service was spot on. great menu and fair prices. will return for sure

great brewery with great food andbeeroptions! our service was decent and despite being loud inside, i enjoyed the pizza and beer! great atmosphere and yummy pizza. you can see the brick oven as they make it. check it out!

i had the chicken sandwich at red rock and it was fantastic. the service was good and the staff was very friendly. i also had their onion rings and my wife had the french onion soup. both of which she let me take a bite of and they were delicious. i also had their in-house rootbeerand i really enjoyed it. you will especially enjoy the in-house rootbeerif you like your rootbeerwith a slightly stronger vanilla and sarsaparilla flavor. overall this is a fantastic date night restaurant.

decided to do a brewery night while in slc. we picked red rock due to the reviews. upon arriving we were greeted right away. we decided to sit at the bar, no other reason than we prefer to sit there. the restaurant was lively. the bartenders were very knowledgeable about thebeerand when we ordered abeerwe had never had before one suggested we try it first since it apparently was a tart beer. we were glad to have tried a taste as it was not something we cared for. there were plenty of beers to choose from and we had several very good ones.

i highly recommend getting the bruschetta. i've never had a combo like red rock's but it was delicious. goat cheese, tomatoes and basil, and roasted garlic all were great on the bread alone or in various combos.

we ordered the filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes and the shrimp dinner with fries and slaw. both were flavorful. the portions were good size for the price.

we would definitely suggest this as a great place forbeerand foods. a nice way to spend an evening in salt lake city.

red rock was great! we went there after whiskey street. thebeerwas fantastic! make sure to get a bottle if you want

good food. good beer. good staff. good location. a nice variety of food is on the menu - everything from small apps like pickle bites to full steak dinners. and thebeeris really good, too. a great selection of draft and bottled beers to complement whatever you pick from the menu. i had the chicken pot pie - just returned to the menu in time for fall/winter. it paired nicely with the english bitter and the oatmeal stout. can't wait to come back and try this combo on a really cold day. overall, this place was well worth the visit!

a prolific brew pub with an amazing list of beers and food to match. fried green tomatoes are best west of rockies. wild mushroom pizza, fish and chips were very good although crust could have been crispier.

enjoyed their version of a bamberg smokedbeerand a bavarian weiss. service was fast and helpful.

fun brewpub, with tasty beer, in the heart of salt lake city. red rock has a great menu of diverse options ranging from pizza, salads, sandwiches and pub entrées. we shared the warm cheese spread withbeerbread and i devoured a refreshing spinach salad loaded with shrimp, gorgonzola, pistachios and grapefruit. the server was attentive and i enjoyed the atmosphere.

to start the beers were awesome. except the bartender one poured my stout and then overfilled the glass and slammed it down on the bar spilled everywhere and she walked away. to recapbeeris good service was stuck up and terrible. we decided to leave after one drink and not put up with an attitude that would have ruined our day.

my first visit to this place was a business lunch and so i did not have beer. but i simply loved the food especially cod fish tacos. in my quest for that taco, i once again happened to be here during dinner time but unfortunately the taco was not available that day and so i had prosciutto that and buffalo wings. and both were superb. oh yes i did havebeerthat day and lot of lightbeerdifferent ones each time and got one packed for the room which i could not finish ;)

thebeerchoices were good and the bruschetta was great. the food prices were astronomical. i had the a alaskan halibut fish and chips which was not that great and for $20.00 it's not worth it.

been a patron for years but will not go to downtown store again. i just took a group of 8 to the downtown location. could not get a table for the whole group and had to split up table. the service was almost non existant, and when the waitress did help us, it was like it was a bother to her. if one of the managers did not help.....i think we would still be waiting for ourbeerand food.
i have had the fish sandwich special there 40+ tiimes and have always been happy with it. in fact i always tell people that they can't go wrong with it. well.....not any more. the ahi was barely cooked (i like it lightly seared with it raw in middle), but it should at least be cooked a little and not just a hunk of cold raw fish. could not even eat it.. i would have complained but it took so long for someone to come around that i just gave up, paid the bill (when we finally got it) and decided that i would just not ever go there again. its to bad.....i used to really enjoy going there. i still may go to the fashion place location.....seems that it is new enough that they still care about the customers there, but i am done with the downtown location for sure.
oh well. it was good when it lasted. squatters will get my business when i am downtown from now on.
