a prolific brew pub with an amazing list of beers and food to match. fried green tomatoes are best west of rockies. wild mushroom pizza, fishand chips were very good although crust could have been crispier.

enjoyed their version of a bamberg smoked beer and a bavarian weiss. service was fast and helpful.

my first visit to this place was a business lunch and so i did not have beer. but i simply loved the food especially codfishtacos. in my quest for that taco, i once again happened to be here during dinner time but unfortunately the taco was not available that day and so i had prosciutto that and buffalo wings. and both were superb. oh yes i did have beer that day and lot of light beer different ones each time and got one packed for the room which i could not finish ;)

the beer choices were good and the bruschetta was great. the food prices were astronomical. i had the a alaskan halibutfishand chips which was not that great and for $20.00 it's not worth it.

been a patron for years but will not go to downtown store again. i just took a group of 8 to the downtown location. could not get a table for the whole group and had to split up table. the service was almost non existant, and when the waitress did help us, it was like it was a bother to her. if one of the managers did not help.....i think we would still be waiting for our beer and food.
i have had thefishsandwich special there 40+ tiimes and have always been happy with it. in fact i always tell people that they can't go wrong with it. well.....not any more. the ahi was barely cooked (i like it lightly seared with it raw in middle), but it should at least be cooked a little and not just a hunk of cold raw fish. could not even eat it.. i would have complained but it took so long for someone to come around that i just gave up, paid the bill (when we finally got it) and decided that i would just not ever go there again. its to bad.....i used to really enjoy going there. i still may go to the fashion place location.....seems that it is new enough that they still care about the customers there, but i am done with the downtown location for sure.
oh well. it was good when it lasted. squatters will get my business when i am downtown from now on.

a staple of the downtown salt lake city dining scene since 1994 – in local terms, red rock is an elder statesman of sorts. now comprising three locations, the original, dowotnw location is still my favorite. and one of my favorite dishes? the picturedfishand chips. a goodfishand chips starts with a great batter and just look at the golden brownfishabove. red rock has never disappointed me with their explosively crunchy, beer battered batteredfish– not greasy in the slightest. their fries are of the thicker cut steakhouse variety and opinion will vary. coleslaw rounds out the dish and yes, you can get malt vinegar too! the dish is also offered with cod ($14.99) or halibut ($19.99). red rock brewing company 254 s 200 w salt lake city, ut 84101 (801) 521-7446 www.redrockbrewing.com we are rated best in slc!

red rock brewing company has 3 locations in utah and we visited the salt lake restaurant. we went with our friends jennifer and marcel after our fun filled day{link} at boondocks. our wait time wasn't too horrible even though it was super crowded, but hey, that's a good sign, right? we were seated at a table by the door so each time it opened we were blasted with cold air. i shivered through dinner. and my chair was right below the table above us pretty much putting my hair in their food...but really, it was fine, seating just wasn't great. i think our waitress was new as she hadn't tried much on the menu and wasn't able to give us any suggestions, it happens. husband - spicy italian sausage grinder me - codfishand chips andrew said i need more variety. i have eatenfishand chips at pretty much every restaurant we have eaten at lately, maybe it's becoming a favorite food? i had no complaints about my meal and andrew had just one: his sandwich was just a little bit dry. i really shou

excellent downtown slc choice. we dined at rrbc for lunch, enjoying the roasted tomato bruschetta with walnut-encrusted goat cheese as our starter. it as a 10, which for the traditional brewery type of restaurant is saying something. have had a similar appetizer in tonier places and found myself less impressed. go, red rock.

i chose the wild mushroom polenta for my entree and was quite pleased. again, who'da thunk in a brewery? my husband's plate offishand chips was also nicely done, although pretty typical of what you'd expect in a brewery.

friends of ours had dined there the day before (we were all in town for a convention) and spoke highly of the restaurant. we would echo their praise and say it's one of the better all-around choices for fare in downtown slc if you're looking for something that's not a chain, yet reliable. the service was terrific, btw.

there are some things on the menu (e.g., steak sandwich, certain pastas, fishand chips, etc.) that i really like. while there are some things that are down-right not good. could have gone either way on my voting, but the reality is, i stick to what i know to be good at this joint and it works out just fine.

a new fave. double date with friends on valentines and trying to find a place to eat got me and my friends to this uptown slc brew pub.
we ordered:
- halibutfish& chips 16.49
- chicken parmesan 12.99
- seafood pasta ? (must be seasonal, not a current menu item)
- french onion steak sandwich 15.99

4 very different items done exceptionally well.

fish and chips had a light, flaky bear batter. not greasy. originally came with meager few fries but waiter brought out a few more to round it out.

chicken parmesan was tender and flavorful.

seafood pasta consisted of shrimp and scallops with a light red sauce. the light flavor complemented the seafood well and the cyan pepper gave it a perfect zip.

the french onion steak sandwich was my dish. when it got to the table it was one of those meals that everyone else wished they had ordered. tender steak, crisp sourdough bread covered in cheese and caramelized onions that brought out an amazing flavor in the meat. on the side was either french onion soup or dip, use it to dip the sandwich in....awesome! skip the lack luster mashed potatoes get the steak fries.

also the cream soda had a strong after burn some may like but i'll stick with a sweeter ibc any day.
