good beer, average food.redrock is a nice place to end a ski day. a professional beer tasting friend told me she prefers squatters but i have always found theredrock beer to be good. the food is typical brew pub food, filling and good enough but not great. however there are some highlights, e.g. the tuna sandwich served in a pita like wrapper (a recent special).

good beer, good food, good times!!. in the endless battle over best brew pub behind the zion curtain i've long been a squatters' brew pub advocate. over time i've begun to hone my palate toward a menu of mid level sophisticated food without the air of pretentiousness.

red rock is a solid bet. from their oatmeal stout to the simple splendor of theredrock burger, all the way to mimosa's and egg's in purgatory for a sunday brunch you wont find a better brew pub in salt lake.

visitingredrock is like stepping through a portal from salt lake to seattle. a great brew pub with a solid menu and a beer line up few could match. a trip to the covered patio to enjoy to evening air, or a large party filling the rear of the restaurant with a view of the brewing processredrock is a great experience.

i had the chicken sandwich atredrock and it was fantastic. the service was good and the staff was very friendly. i also had their onion rings and my wife had the french onion soup. both of which she let me take a bite of and they were delicious. i also had their in-house root beer and i really enjoyed it. you will especially enjoy the in-house root beer if you like your root beer with a slightly stronger vanilla and sarsaparilla flavor. overall this is a fantastic date night restaurant.

decided to do a brewery night while in slc. we pickedredrock due to the reviews. upon arriving we were greeted right away. we decided to sit at the bar, no other reason than we prefer to sit there. the restaurant was lively. the bartenders were very knowledgeable about the beer and when we ordered a beer we had never had before one suggested we try it first since it apparently was a tart beer. we were glad to have tried a taste as it was not something we cared for. there were plenty of beers to choose from and we had several very good ones.

i highly recommend getting the bruschetta. i've never had a combo likeredrock's but it was delicious. goat cheese, tomatoes and basil, and roasted garlic all were great on the bread alone or in various combos.

we ordered the filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes and the shrimp dinner with fries and slaw. both were flavorful. the portions were good size for the price.

we would definitely suggest this as a great place for beer and foods. a nice way to spend an evening in salt lake city.

fun brewpub, with tasty beer, in the heart of salt lake city. redrock has a great menu of diverse options ranging from pizza, salads, sandwiches and pub entrées. we shared the warm cheese spread with beer bread and i devoured a refreshing spinach salad loaded with shrimp, gorgonzola, pistachios and grapefruit. the server was attentive and i enjoyed the atmosphere.

had the special schnitzel holstein-style withredcabbage, potatoes and spaetzle and every bit of it was outstanding! neat, micro-brew vibe with good selection of beers and fast and friendly service. high on my list of places to eat when in slc.

road trip. stopped in salt lake after 12 hour drive, found this nice brewery on the spoon. i had theredrock burger and it was delicious. instead of a bun it came in a a pita type bread. thought it was great because it didn't fall apart our drip everywhere. my wife had the sweet potato connolli and it was amazing along with the ipa.

a staple of the downtown salt lake city dining scene since 1994 – in local terms, redrock is an elder statesman of sorts. now comprising three locations, the original, dowotnw location is still my favorite. and one of my favorite dishes? the pictured fish and chips. a good fish and chips starts with a great batter and just look at the golden brown fish above.redrock has never disappointed me with their explosively crunchy, beer battered battered fish – not greasy in the slightest. their fries are of the thicker cut steakhouse variety and opinion will vary. coleslaw rounds out the dish and yes, you can get malt vinegar too! the dish is also offered with cod ($14.99) or halibut ($19.99).redrock brewing company 254 s 200 w salt lake city, ut 84101 (801) 521-7446 www.redrockbrewing.com we are rated best in slc!

dinner review. we were just passing through salt lake and decided to stop at this local joint. the service was poor, it took about 10 minutes for the server to even get to our table and an exceptionally long wait for him to come back with my beer. the food was decent, we particularly enjoyed the stuffed portobello mushroom as an appetizer. overall, we had a mediocre experience atredrocks

the menu was overwhelming as there were so many options. they do a captivating job of describing each dish. ultimately i ordered the smokedredtrout club: house smokedredtrout fillet, redonion marmalade, dill cream cheese, cucumbers, bacon & tomato on a pumpernickel bread. sounds like something you would order at an alaskan fishing lodge. for a starter, i got a house salad: organic spring mix, greens, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, carrot chips and croutons with a creamy garlic and basil house dressing. how is that for overloaded?

want to get treated like total crap?. want to get treated like complete crap by the manager? i got doused in an entire beer when the server set the glass down on the edge of the table, next to my friend's arm, when his back was turned. server didn't apologize. i went and did my best to clean up in the bathroom. server came back and asked if there was anything else we needed, and i asked if get my dinner comped because my dining experience was pretty much ruined for the night. i didn't feel that bad considering we were a party of 8 and ordered several drinks apiece. sh*t happens and i'm pretty easy going myself, but at that point i felt the server considered us an inconvenience instead of patrons. server said he'd ask, but an extremely rude manager came over instead and said "someone wanted to talk to me?" i explained the situation and she said she would "check the cameras" to see if any of it was actually the server's fault, which i found to be really obnoxious. is this a restaurant or a casino? she went on to say "well, i can get you some towels but we're not giving you free food." i told her fine, i wouldn't ever be coming back. then i walked out.

the food was ok. i likeredrock's ipa, but i can get that at a restaurant where the manager isn't a total b*tch.

common courtesy much?!. i have visited this pub many times over the past couple of years. mostly for friends large parties or to grab a beer. although i have never been impressed with the food i reluctantly called to inquire about making a reservation for a large party, i was helped by a girl who was very nice but used "um" every other word, but was assured i would hear back from a manager within one day. after three days went by i called back to see if anyone had received my message. the deep voiced dude was not only arrogant but informed me that the reason i didn't hear back was because they do not make reservations that far out. he also informed me that he should have better trained his hostess to state that from the beggining. maybe a 60 second phone call to me wouldnt have hurt the business of losing a large party toredrock brewing down the road. always great food and service. not to mention common courtesy when it comes to customer service.

hungry for more.. i recently visited the fashion place location and had their italian cheese dip appetizer. i was greatly impressed with not only it's taste, but also it's visual elements enticed my desire to consume its rich yet savory complexities. it came with beer bread that had not only a slight crunch, but the inner portion was delicate, yet contained a robust onslaught of woody and perfumed elements.. the wood fire wild mushroom pizza was cooked to perfection. the crust alone held it's own magnificent tenacity. it was flavor-full and sassy. the mushrooms contained married greatly together. the pizza also contained caramelized onions that held a sweetness as if it were caramelized inredwine vinegar. it was one of the best pizzas i have ever had. the roasted turkey sandwich with the orange cranberry sauce was like going home after a long absence.it's simple yet profound notes engaged and enthralled my fiance. i will definitely be returning to this place, as i am hungry for more of what they have to offer.

fair food, fun atmosphere. i have been toredrock a few times over the years and the food is always good, but never anything truly spectacular. the french onion soup and sandwich i ordered today for lunch were okay-- excellent toasted bread pocket but the meat was a bit dry. their entrees can get up into the high teens, and it doesn't quite seem like the quality of the food warrants such prices. especially when poplar is right next door with much more exciting food ...
