good beer, average food. red rock is a nice place to end a ski day. a professional beer tasting friend told me she prefers squatters but i have always found the red rock beer to be good. the food is typical brew pub food, filling and good enough but not great. however there are some highlights, e.g. the tunasandwichserved in a pita like wrapper (a recent special).

i had the chickensandwichat red rock and it was fantastic. the service was good and the staff was very friendly. i also had their onion rings and my wife had the french onion soup. both of which she let me take a bite of and they were delicious. i also had their in-house root beer and i really enjoyed it. you will especially enjoy the in-house root beer if you like your root beer with a slightly stronger vanilla and sarsaparilla flavor. overall this is a fantastic date night restaurant.

been a patron for years but will not go to downtown store again. i just took a group of 8 to the downtown location. could not get a table for the whole group and had to split up table. the service was almost non existant, and when the waitress did help us, it was like it was a bother to her. if one of the managers did not help.....i think we would still be waiting for our beer and food.
i have had the fishsandwichspecial there 40+ tiimes and have always been happy with it. in fact i always tell people that they can't go wrong with it. well.....not any more. the ahi was barely cooked (i like it lightly seared with it raw in middle), but it should at least be cooked a little and not just a hunk of cold raw fish. could not even eat it.. i would have complained but it took so long for someone to come around that i just gave up, paid the bill (when we finally got it) and decided that i would just not ever go there again. its to bad.....i used to really enjoy going there. i still may go to the fashion place location.....seems that it is new enough that they still care about the customers there, but i am done with the downtown location for sure.
oh well. it was good when it lasted. squatters will get my business when i am downtown from now on.

amazing onion rings, amazing portobello sandwich!. my tablemates aptly described the onion rings as a combination of an onion ring and a funnel cake in one bite. these are the best onion to gs i have ever eaten. i tried the portobellosandwichand it amazed me. so glad i didn't opt for any other bello/shroom option.

hungry for more.. i recently visited the fashion place location and had their italian cheese dip appetizer. i was greatly impressed with not only it's taste, but also it's visual elements enticed my desire to consume its rich yet savory complexities. it came with beer bread that had not only a slight crunch, but the inner portion was delicate, yet contained a robust onslaught of woody and perfumed elements.. the wood fire wild mushroom pizza was cooked to perfection. the crust alone held it's own magnificent tenacity. it was flavor-full and sassy. the mushrooms contained married greatly together. the pizza also contained caramelized onions that held a sweetness as if it were caramelized in red wine vinegar. it was one of the best pizzas i have ever had. the roasted turkeysandwichwith the orange cranberry sauce was like going home after a long absence.it's simple yet profound notes engaged and enthralled my fiance. i will definitely be returning to this place, as i am hungry for more of what they have to offer.

fair food, fun atmosphere. i have been to red rock a few times over the years and the food is always good, but never anything truly spectacular. the french onion soup andsandwichi ordered today for lunch were okay-- excellent toasted bread pocket but the meat was a bit dry. their entrees can get up into the high teens, and it doesn't quite seem like the quality of the food warrants such prices. especially when poplar is right next door with much more exciting food ...

red rock brewing company has 3 locations in utah and we visited the salt lake restaurant. we went with our friends jennifer and marcel after our fun filled day{link} at boondocks. our wait time wasn't too horrible even though it was super crowded, but hey, that's a good sign, right? we were seated at a table by the door so each time it opened we were blasted with cold air. i shivered through dinner. and my chair was right below the table above us pretty much putting my hair in their food...but really, it was fine, seating just wasn't great. i think our waitress was new as she hadn't tried much on the menu and wasn't able to give us any suggestions, it happens. husband - spicy italian sausage grinder me - cod fish and chips andrew said i need more variety. i have eaten fish and chips at pretty much every restaurant we have eaten at lately, maybe it's becoming a favorite food? i had no complaints about my meal and andrew had just one: hissandwichwas just a little bit dry. i really shou

we went on a saturday at lunchtime and it took approx. 15 for the server to ask us if we'd like any kind of drink. the food was quickly produced, but the staff kicked my chair repeatedly and it took both of us getting up for the server to check on us again and get us our check. the food was overpriced and the vegetariansandwichthat was supposed to be made with evoo was dripping with butter. also the fried green tomatoes tasted like they had been made from a frozen stock. they were actually gross. i wouldn't waste my money there again.

i took my wife and two little girls(1 and 3) here for dinner and we had a great experience. even though it was busy, the service was outstanding. the atmosphere was noisy but not loud. we tried four different beers and all were pretty good. the food, though, is where this place stood out. we started with the bruschetta and it was very good, although some of our parm crisps were a little burnt. i had the french onion steaksandwichand it was fantastic! it came with a little crock of french onion soup broth for dipping. even the steak fries are worth mentioning. we also got the pesto cheese pizza which was okay. i wasn't blown away by that. we ordered two meals off the kids menu and should have ordered just one, as the kids portions were huge. all in all, i would highly recommend red rock.

a new fave. double date with friends on valentines and trying to find a place to eat got me and my friends to this uptown slc brew pub.
we ordered:
- halibut fish & chips 16.49
- chicken parmesan 12.99
- seafood pasta ? (must be seasonal, not a current menu item)
- french onion steaksandwich15.99

4 very different items done exceptionally well.

fish and chips had a light, flaky bear batter. not greasy. originally came with meager few fries but waiter brought out a few more to round it out.

chicken parmesan was tender and flavorful.

seafood pasta consisted of shrimp and scallops with a light red sauce. the light flavor complemented the seafood well and the cyan pepper gave it a perfect zip.

the french onion steaksandwichwas my dish. when it got to the table it was one of those meals that everyone else wished they had ordered. tender steak, crisp sourdough bread covered in cheese and caramelized onions that brought out an amazing flavor in the meat. on the side was either french onion soup or dip, use it to dip thesandwichin....awesome! skip the lack luster mashed potatoes get the steak fries.

also the cream soda had a strong after burn some may like but i'll stick with a sweeter ibc any day.
