this is still one of my favourite places. i have already written four blog posts about this place, but i keep coming back and keep trying new things that i think are worth noting. appies, mains, and desserts. they all have been memorable and have all been blog worthy. so with that, i will quote myself, reminding you of the decor from my original post, but then will move right on into the food review portion of this post.

i'm a little taken aback by the negative reviews here. pourhouse is one of my favorite places (if not my favorite) in town for drinks. if there is one place that can get me happy instantly, it is this one. the ambiance is amazing, very rustic and the music is great. they play live jazz on sundays, and have a phenomenal staff. the food items are quite limited and small, simple but nonetheless great. the best part about this place however, and where one should focus on, is the drinks. amazing cocktails here, a little pricier than what youre used to but definitely worth it.

tried the pourhouse burger after hearing high praises. the bun was a bit burnt but the patty was very substantial and juicy. it was overall a good burger but the fries were weirdly stale. the place is quite dark for dinner hours, i could hardly read the menu.

we had the chefs table last night for dinner. it was a smorgasborg of delicious food served directly by kevin the head chef. my favourites were rabbit head cheese, scottish egg and cheshire pork. the dark chocolate mouse at the end was spectacular. lastly, the cocktails were super as always. only negative was my whiskey sour was too sweet. however enjoyed everything else.

ambiance (7.5/10) really comfy spot, with deep seating.

scotch egg (9/10) all i remember about my meal was the scotch egg, which was fantastic.

i really wish i wasn't to tipsy to remember what this cocktail was called. it was so delicious ...something with egg whites.

great atmosphere! our waitress was a bit to the point and less on the friendly side but the bar tender who made my drink was very friendly and very talented as the cocktail went down smoothly.

must go here again when i'm slightly less inherited!

good. great atmosphere and decor. the place is small and cozy. the food is very tasty. we went for valentines. the dishes are like "tapas". there was live music.

finally got a chance to have a meal at pourhouse, after years of recommendations from family and friends. we decided to go because they didn't do dine out (i try to avoid those restaurants now). the place had a warm and vibrant vibe to it. it was hip and quite crowded for a wednesday night. service was prompt and professional. i had a scotch egg, rabbit terrine, and chocolate and almond cake. all in all, i had quite a good time. the server never hurried us when we were finished eating. we even got our water refilled quite a few times. i may go back, but i'd definitely recommend trying it out.

headed to gastown for lunch because i really wanted to try the new soft serve place uyu . decided on this restaurant because i’ve seen lots of great review on it. not as strong and easy to down. lunch special – pulled pork burger with fries

i brought a friend in the evening and we sat in the "lounge" area after getting dinner somewhere else (two high-backed, plushy armchairs with a small round table). in short, we had a great time! our server was attentive and friendly, and offered to suggest drinks depending on what style my friend wanted. i ordered a couple of cocktails and a neat single serving of dalwhinnie (15yr), and my friend ordered a jack rose and brandy alexander. the pourhouse staff also serve drinks that are not on the menu, which is always lovely. the drinks are nicely made, and water is constantly served. it was a great way to end off the evening in a nice atmosphere.

loved aperitif hour here(which goes from 2-6pm!) i stuck mostly with the cocchi rosa as it was delicious, and the frenet one tasted extremely medicinal(and kind of gross!) at $4 each, you can't go wrong with trying all 3 featured on the menu.
very cool atmosphere, didn't feel weird as i was on my own and just people watching. the place was empty when i arrived at 3:30, but mostly full by the time i left at 5:30. check out the foot operated tap in the bathroom :)

- too busy and cannot get seated immediately.

good ambiance, and nice late night lounge. it's a better alternative than a regular bar and has a classy feel to it. love the food although i feel like their charcuterie board was a bit of a disappointment

the pourhouse is one of my favourite joints in gastown. it's dark and sexy inside and the cocktail list is great. the food never fails to impress.
