just great. tried it last sat morning. there was no problem with the service as described in the previous reviews. the pastries are amazing. i will go back to try every one of them. the patio is a nice place to sit and have breakfast or dessert. one hitch, they do not have refills on coffee or even a refill price. you have to pay another $2 bucks for a second cup of plain coffee. oh well.

worst experience. owner was extremely rude, even after the fact that the bottom of my glass broke off and had split coffee all over me. he was not sympathic at all and informed me that "this stuff happens". don't waste your time or money here. take your business to manuel latruwe. their pasteries are actually good. i will be telling all my friends and family to never support this establishment. i hope they go under due to their poor service. if you do choose to eat here, i hope you will not suffer the humility that i endured.

best $8 i have ever spent on a sandwich. period. only the freshest of ingredients are used, and you definitely get a bang for your buck. service is great as well.

it was fine, but not worth the wait, the price, or the uncomfortable dining experience. i will not be back for several months at least, if at all. hopefully then the staff will be a bit better organized and some of the hype will have died down.

best bakery in town. lots of people said it's not that good if you have tasted "manuel latruwe" before. so i tried both in the same week.
i am in calgary since a year, the rest of my life has been spent in france. let me tell you about bakeries...
yes there are some downsides (staff not super friendly, till far from the entrance) but this is it, the croissant and the baguette (staples for me) are authentic. as good as in my country.
i would more than likely be hanging around on their patio with my café au lait this summer.

good pastry techniques but needs refinement. the cheese danish hardly has any cheese in it. the almond croissant hardly has any almond paste in it. the nut tart was actually overflowing with nuts but needed more caramel to bind them together.... it was like eating loose, dry nuts in a decent pastry shell. crepes are good. so, with some refinement, the pastries have potential. technique is there, but needs more love.

little bit of france. went for the first time on friday . had a couple of treats and thought the pastry was perfect ... very light and baked just right , blueberries were fresh and tasty . the place was packed with the beautiful people even at 11:00 am . it's great to see a new addition that brings a bit of european style to mission . note to the suburbanites ... you won't understand this place . yeah its small and sure the staff are busy , and people line up for coffee ... and ?

will never go back.... customer service is key.
the organization of the bakery needs work. the queue completely covers the display case. customers have no idea what type of baked items are still available. when asking the owner what is available, he replies that there are too many choices, so please choose now. very impatient and cares little about customers returning.
crowded and poorly designed layout. why is the cashier counter the furthest away from the door....and the order pickup counter blocking the front entry.
for the price i'm paying for a coffee and a sandwich i would assume i'd have a seat to sit...there was barely room for standing.

it was hot and needlessly hectic. the horrible layout has you waiting for crepes and coffee in the middle of the line to order, and the baked goods are concealed by the hectic line, leaving you unsure of what to order. but beware of being unsure of what to order because the owner was rude and dismissive of our questions for reccomendatoons. there is no way to relax and enjoy brunch amid the disorganization. for premium prices, this place has far far less than a premium or enjoyable experience.

the desserts are good but the staff are disorganized and unfamiliar with their own products.

great food and service. although at the beginning service was a little slow, that has all been cleared up now. as for person who wrote in that they saw the chef/owner at kingsland market location so maybe that was why pastries were not up to snuff, that is not true. he is at both locations and supervising new bakers. food is amazing and if you park further down the block on the avenue, parking is free.love their pastries and also their croissant sandwiches. i look forward to visiting there any chance i get.

good from far but far from good. decided to check it out today to grab a sandwich and a pastry. first thing i got in there and waited five minutes for the staff to acknowledge i was in front of the register with a few others

had the pepper salami baguette. it was ok but was disappointed in the bread. seemed to lack any taste and was so tough i felt like a dog with a toy. the concept of the sandwich with the salami, basil, bocaccini , red peppers and tomatoes was exciting but fell flat

for dessert tried the dark chocolate eclair. it was very good but i don't think it was $6 good.

overall: sandwiches save your money and go to sourdough, excellent service and tasty sandwiches. dessert, sure, the eclair was good but there are better places to spend your money at

hope it gets better reviews. i am sorry to see such nasty reviews for the opening week. the pastries at la creperie- their kingsland farmers market location -are amazing. i have made a special trip just to buy their vanilla custard filled croissant- decadent! parking in the mission area is difficult- as it is in kensington- however if you go down some of the side streets it is available.

i noticed today (march 15) the owner is still the baker at the farmer's market location so perhaps that's the problem - the new bakers are not up to snuff.

expensive & not worth it. 5 of us went the day it opened they provided only a few spots for 20 minutes of free parking. we stood that 20 minutes in line with not many people in front of us. slow, slow service. we ended up getting a parking ticket worth $35 if you pay in 7 days, $75 if you pay after! there is no parking much around there so why pay to park for just a bakery?my daughter had the french onion soup, that was a waste of money. it had hardly any taste at all. they had lots of pastries but our sampling of them was that they were okay but not spectacular for the pricing. they need to figure out their service better and figure out how to do something other than baking because hot features are not their strong suit. they also should provide better parking! signed out alot for the cost of food and $35 for parking!

what a waste of time! manuel latruwe is so much better or l'epecirie on macleod trail. i had the chocolate and lemon tart and a selection of croissants and a baguette. tarts were messy, pastry too thick and the filling tasteless. baguette wasn't as good as l'epecirie and croissants were over baked. all in all don't bother!!
