stopped for a bite andcoffeeon my walk today,  normally stop at the purple perk for pastry and acoffeeand will be going back.  this place is over priced, mediocre quality product and i am not sure why they are full, other than maybe there is the large patio.

i wanted to like this place, seeing people sitting there before work having coffee. went today to have acoffeewhile i wait for a sandwich to take to work. it’s expensive, $5.25 cappuccino is rather small and comes only in paper cups. the service is extremely slow, thecoffeetook as long as the sandwich, the sandwich they made was the wrong one, i did not order a croissant and it was extremely salty. i will not go there again

la boulangerie is just so good.
it’s a great cozy atmosphere that surrounds you with busy workers and beautiful pastries.
every time i go, the service is quick and wonderful, you’re ordering and sitting down to relax within 3 minutes. thecoffeeis fresh and aromatic, and if you’re feeling something sweet, the nutella latte is incredible.
the crepes seem a little expensive but as soon it gets to your table you can tell they’re worth it. great flavours, good size, totally worth it.
if you’re in mission and are feeling like a cute cafe to chill in, la boulangerie is the way to go.

la boulangerie is a great place to grab acoffeeand little something sweet. they also offer savoury dishes.... sandwiches, soups, etc., but i only opted for dessert. i had the new york cheesecake. it was delish. latte was great too. the owner was so friendly, she even brought me and my 3 friends complimentary profiteroles after we sat down on the patio. they were fantastic too!

amazing food/coffee with the classic tiny french cafe vibe. the strawberry tart was mind blowing. rich custard balanced with tart strawberries all on top of a crumbly crust. seriously perfection. the beef stew (not pictured) was a bit too salty, but the flavours were great! the ham & cheese croissant was delicious! when i picked it up i was surprised by how heavy it was. it is really packed with cheese. a warm, cheesy croissant in the morning, doesn't that sound great? thecoffeewas hot and fresh! i would definitely come back for the desserts. service was a bit awkward but nothing to complain about.

food, pastry, andcoffeehere is great. usually food comes out pretty quick. there are a few weird things about this place, however. whenever i've ordered food to stay it is always served on a disposable plate. it feels weird. when food is brought to your table they bring no cutlery or napkins. you have to go to the takeaway counter inside and pick up disposable plastic cutlery. why? are there no real forks and spoons?

just seems things are a bit confusing and could be more hospitable. a real plate and cutlery world be nice. might even be cheaper for the restaurant!

cute cafe on 4th street near the safeway. there's a paid parking lot next to it and also street parking.

i like that there is a pretty spacious patio area and also inside. i only tried thecoffeeand tart which were both good. lots of people eating breakfast there, i'll have to try next time. my only wish is that the pastries were organized better in the display so i know what i am looking at and ordering.

my favorite place for sunday mornings. when i lived in calgary, i use to go here most sunday mornings. the pastries andcoffeeare delicious. the crepes are usually good too, however they can sometimes be disappointing. i think it all depends of who's working that are making them. the last time i was in town visiting, i made sure to make a visit for a goodcoffeeand a delicious crepe, however this time the experience wasn't all that friendly. i found the girl that was taking my order didn't have the time of day to take my order. it was simple: coffee, crepe and eclair. i was disappointed with the service and how i was being treated. i don't expect much, but a smile now and then is nice.

tepid coffee, lacklustre crepe. passed by this place excitedly one day and noted it down for a future visit. but when i returned with a hungry belly i wasn't too impressed. thecoffeei ordered was mediocre. the crepe was alright, but nothing extraodinary. the service was pretty fast but not the friendliest.

it is a shame, and maybe just an isolated incident, because this shop has such potential. the pastry fridge looked full of delicious goodies--maybe i made the wrong food choice. but unless i was passing by i wouldn't go out of my way to give it a second chance.

tres magnifique!. i live in mission, and frequent the neighboringcoffeeshops quite regularly. my favorite part of the day is when i get an americano and pastry from la boulangerie. their espresso is always perfect, and the pastries are the best i've ever had. the counter staff are friendly, and efficient. newspapers and magazines, and a patio. love it!

pastries and coffee, la boulangerie on 4th street.   i have meant to try la boulangerie for a long, long time! so when our friends suggested it for brunch, i was very excited! this is the type of cafe we should have every other block, including those dreadful suburbs. then i’d finally be happy with calgary (though i can’t promise i’d stop complaining about it!). since my first visit to la boulangerie – bakery cafe (2435 4th street sw), i came back every single weekend! it has become our favorite weekend afternoon teacoffeepastry place! i am not sure i’d go back there for brunch, but had i lived in the neighborhood, i’d certainly be a regular. the place is not as cozy as other cafes. it only has around 10 tables and it’s harder to fit larger parties. on weekends, brunch is crazy – if you get a spot, go get a lottery ticket as well cause it’s your lucky day! i tried the salmon sandwich on a baguette (around $10), together with a hot chocolate that i loved! the sandwich was fresh, tasty

fair. lemon tart, crepes, baguette sandwich, coffeegalore - i have come to the cafe countless times. they bake fresh bread almost daily and use no preservatives. their sourdough bread is quite tasty. the crepes are absolutely delightful and worth the wait. the lemon tart, my goodness, if you can enjoy to be carefree about your caloric intake in a day then by all means each person needs to indulge at least once. the cafe is the only other cafe on 4th that serves illy brandcoffeefrom italy. in all honesty each restaurant gets they're usual hour rush, it just depends on when you come in. i love reading inexperienced reviews stating i will not come back anymore after only one visit. to be fair and objective you have to take into account the humanity of each business. ever tried to watch a movie on a friday night with everyone else trying to get in (in all honesty, good luck). unfortunately i feel sorry to the mouths raised on soft fastfood style burgers. you just won't be able to enjoy the french styled baguette. they are absolutely different from the usual soft chewy reprocessed burgers. it's just not the same, so i recommend those to stick to american fast food. there is a mix of reviewers on urbanspoon. some with class. and some notably without. enjoy!

just great. tried it last sat morning. there was no problem with the service as described in the previous reviews. the pastries are amazing. i will go back to try every one of them. the patio is a nice place to sit and have breakfast or dessert. one hitch, they do not have refills oncoffeeor even a refill price. you have to pay another $2 bucks for a second cup of plain coffee. oh well.

worst experience. owner was extremely rude, even after the fact that the bottom of my glass broke off and had splitcoffeeall over me. he was not sympathic at all and informed me that "this stuff happens". don't waste your time or money here. take your business to manuel latruwe. their pasteries are actually good. i will be telling all my friends and family to never support this establishment. i hope they go under due to their poor service. if you do choose to eat here, i hope you will not suffer the humility that i endured.

little bit of france. went for the first time on friday . had a couple of treats and thought the pastry was perfect ... very light and baked just right , blueberries were fresh and tasty . the place was packed with the beautiful people even at 11:00 am . it's great to see a new addition that brings a bit of european style to mission . note to the suburbanites ... you won't understand this place . yeah its small and sure the staff are busy , and people line up forcoffee... and ?
